I loved the dark lighting and the noise level. Not to loud not too too quiet. I've been here on 2 occasions and both occasions have involved large groups of 10 or more. They did a good job of accommodating and making sure everyone was attended. I ordered the salmon with a side of mashed red potatoes. What I really wanted was the grilled Salmon instead I got a cold flaked salmon! So make sure you're specific when ordering this dish. However, on the most recent visit, the sides were unimpressive. The mashed potatoes were thick and pasty; potatoes probably sat too long in the starchy water before mashing. The seasonal rice was pretty dry and nothing to call home about. It will set you back almost $32 by itself! But I'm still glad we ordered it. My friend LOVED her cherry pie, but I wonder if it was really worth $9/slice. David is an excellent server. Ask for him. It's more expensive than many lunch places downtown, but it's a nice treat. Overall it is what you'd expect from a higher end steakhouse/resturant. Good service and good food.

Steaks come out perfectly. Their filet basically melts in your mouth. Not the greatest beer selection but they do have some Sun King and Flat 12 which are Indianapolis brews. We started with the Calamari that was cooked just right and was accompanied by a tasty sweet chili sauce. I had the Izzy's Style NY Strip that was very flavorful and was cooked to perfection at medium rare. Near the end of the dish, my taste buds were a bit over stimulated from the very strong flavor, but I had been warned. My wife had the 6 ounce filet mignon and it was perfectly done medium rare and that should be the choice if someone wants to savor the delicious beef at H&I's.
