Steaks as always were flawless and cooked to desired doneness. This time I tried the Prime Rib and was sorely disappointed. They do not offer the Prime Rib rare but offered medium rare. My generous portion turned out medium and was somewhat dry and difficult to cut. Not being one to return meals to the kitchen except on rare occasions I muddled through a portion of it and requested the remander to be boxed to take home for Prime Rib hash. High ceilings, high booth backs all contribute to a feeling of elegance that is all but gone in so many restaurants. My father was in the food business for 50 years and would have loved this. Waiter was dignified, efficient and not intrusive at all. Martini was a great start and crab cake appetizer was more crab, instead of more filler! My wife and I both opted for the Ribeye---wonderful choice. Done just right and so tasteful. Aged and done to perfection. Our vegetable was asparagus, which was cooked to the right degree---exactly. The bar tenders and wait staff are actually professional at their job, unlike many of restaurants. The cuisine, especially the steaks, are perfectly aged and come from Harris Ranch in California. The atmosphere is old style San Francisco... The walls are paneled with beautifully crafted dark wood and murals from scenes of our city. Occasionally, there is a small combo band or piano player in the bar area. This was a special birthday dinner for my boyfriend and I put a special message to the restaurant through open table when I made the reservation. They hit all points without me having to remind or mention it to them. This is a big deal for me since I am super picky about customer service, food and ambiance. From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left it was such a wonderful experience. The staff is amazing, friendly, informative and not stuffy at all. We're a fun-loving group he was so much fun and played along with us during our time in the restaurant. Plus I had been to Harris' before but everyone else had not and they loved the ambiance of the venue and most importantly the food.

It came with a side of asparagus and rice. The salmon and asparagus tasted regular. I expected a "wow" effect, but enjoyed it just the same. The side of rice is extremely good though. My friend ordered the filet mignon, and said it was one of the best she has ever eaten. The website for Harris' Restaurant recommends a collared shirt if jeans are worn. Unfortunately, there were many 20 year year old guys with jeans and t-shirt. I was hoping the patrons were going to be more dressed up. Our waiter was excellent. It is a terrific dinner spot. The Food, Service, & Ambiance are All - Outstanding!
The Dining area is Large, beautiful, and relaxing. The bar scene typically has a piano player -Hip & happening. Yes, the dinner is pricey but the Filet is the best and perfectly cooked as requested. The wine list has reasonably priced bottles.
