  • "My husband and I were looking for a restaurant that serves organic and gluten free options - and this was just the place! The server was knowledgeable and took care of us. Very prompt and friendly. We loved the atmosphere and the restaurant was beautiful. The food was absolutely astounding! The price was average for a restaurant. We were pretty pleased with our bill and we ordered quite a bit. We will definitely be coming back here, and bringing our friends and family!"

  • "This is a busy buzzing restaurant. Make sure you have a reservation or you will be waiting especially a whole especially during dinner hours. The service was good, and food came fast and was for the most part delicious. The fish taco appetizer was a bit soggy, but still good, and New York strip was a little undercooked, and not the best arak I have had, but all in all was a very good food experience! Restaurant was also very kid friendly, with a good selection of kids meals."

  • "We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Our waiter was very efficient and friendly, explaining menu items and making helpful suggestions when asked. He kept the flow of items to the table well paced and while not obtrusive, checked on how we were doing and made sure refills appeared when needed. The food was a bit uneven - appetizer wings were crisp and flavourful, the tenderloin steak was medium rare as requested, the landing burger was delicious - however, the spaghetti carbonara was a bit dry and the catch of the day, while well-cooked and a generous portion, was rather lacking in flavour and somewhat disappointing. The sticky toffee pudding (nice chili kick) was great and our friends enjoyed the decadent chocolate cake."

  • "Not much to say....atmosphere ok....food below average. Washroom for disabled, no automatic door, and no low level sink. Not -disabled-friendly!"

  • "Harper's Landing is a great choice for a casual get together ... great food, service, atmosphere. We made reservations for 5:45pm (the latest time we could make a reservation on a Saturday night). As anticipated, our waiter did (very nicely) try to hurry us along so they could turn the table over for another seating ... but we took our time with ordering our meals, lingering over wine and refused to be rushed. The restaurant was relatively quiet when we arrived ... lots of families with kids and older adults. By the time we left (at around 9:30pm) it was packed .... all age groups (our group was between mid 40's - mid 50's). All in all, the service was great, our waiter was exceptional, the food sublime - we will definitely be back."

  • "Sweet potato fries were greasy and hard, e.g. not fully-cooked. Quinoa burger was mushy and tasteless and croissant bun was too hard to bite. I lordered a virgin caesar but didn't request spicy. It was not drinkable as it was so spicy ... and I LOVE spicy."

  • "Service was excellent by Paige.Paige was very familiar with the menu & made excellent wine & food suggestions It is our second visit to the restaurant & it amazes me how well spoken & professional the waitresses are.. The fish was well prepared. The ambience is amazing. There is a very good vibe & I can't wait to go back with the children in a few weeks."

  • "A friend of mine in Toronto recommended this restaurant to my wife & I. We decided to make a reservation at the last minute. Luckily we got one for 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. We were busy that day & Alexandra called us before to let us know to be there sharp at 5:45 p.m. Erica was our server. She was very knowledgeable & made excellent recommendations about the meals . Erica was very efficient & we ended up spending 2.5 hours at the restaurant. We love this place & have told our neighbours how cool it is is. It's unlike any restaurant we have seen in Oakville before. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Wonderful ambiance. The place has a nice fit! The chairs are the right height & very comfortable. It's a large enough space - allows you to feel like you are dining privately. The food is exceptionally fresh & very tasty - very current ingredients. I love coming there & bringing my family & friends."

  • "We went to harpers last November as a guest. Ordered the fish tacos, which were to die for. We took friends there , two days ago and we ordered the fish tacos to start. They were not tacos , they were floppy flour tortillas. There was no grilled pineapple inside and there was just a piece of red pepper, piece of green pepper couple of thick pieces of jicama. It was all julienned last November. The fries, last November, were to die for. this time floppy fries, not frites at all.The wine list is ridiculously expensive. We chose a pinot grigio $40 per bottle , which is $15 at LCBO. East Oakville is full of rich people but not stupid people."

  • "The decor wasn't what I expected. Thought it would be more warm than industrial. Tables a bit small for six people. Our server was very good. Six of us went for breakfast. The best item was the scones and the coffee was good. All other breakfast items were moderately cold. Will not go back for breakfast; however, still willing to go back and try a lunch/dinner."

  • "It was our first time attending Harper's Landing. the food was great. we especially loved the soup of the day - Potato Leek. It was delicious, the calamari appetiser was excellent and the pasta dishes were excellent. service was very attentive and very good. Looking forward to coming back again. One recommendation I would make is to have the specials of the day printed out since it was a very long list.....BTW, I loved my blended beer - Dublin Cream (guiness and creemore) - what a treat and quite delicious."

  • "Menu is limited.Calamari was fab and caesar salad was good. Drinks were quite ridiculously overpriced but those who had the caesar thought it was the best one they have ever had. That being said, for 12 dollars, it should have been larger. Speaking of size, what is with the water glasses that come half full? Also, my long island ice tea was only ok. This cocktail, while not on the signature list needs improvement. Overpoweringly alcoholic, and not sweet enough. Burgers which were wonderful . We also had the lobster fettucine and this was heavy and creamy and delicious although very pricey. Huge chunks of lobster in place mind you. I would recommend the restaurant for a special occasion where you are prepared to pay. 180 with drinks/tip"

  • "Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience. The menu was varied, but not overwhelmingly so. Food itself (I had the curried chicken and my friend had the Landing burger) was excellent. The service was very good, with my only complaint being that the water was not refilled as often as necessary. I did have difficulty hearing the waitress, and sometimes my friend as well. The ceilings are high, the floors bare, and the music just a touch too loud for comfortable conversation. I think the 20 and 30 something crowd will really enjoy this restaurant."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "The food was excellent but the seating was uncomfortable. I didn't like the high table and chairs . I am short and I find these types of chairs difficult to get up on and hard to sit on for any length of time. The music was very loud making conversation difficult. I am a senior and we prefer a quieter dining experience. I also prefer a wine glass not a tumbler for my wine. The service was excellent however. Our waitress was just the right amount of friendly. In some restuarants the friendliness is over done but this was just right. I would recommend this restaurant for a younger crowd but I'm not sure I would recommend it for the 55+ crowd. I think young people would really enjoy this restaurant."

  • "On a quick decision, we decided to come to Harper's Landing based on a recommendation. We reserved online half hour prior to getting there and were greeted immediately with smiles. We were offered a booth in the dining room but decided to go into a booth in the bar to see more of the restaurant. Our server was very friendly and she always asked how everything was. The food, although a bit pricey, tasted very delicious. Definitely coming back in the summer to check out their patio. I'm excited!"

  • "Had a great late lunch here with the teenage kids and a friend. Enjoyed a great meal followed by delicious cappucino and some dessert. Everyone found a delicious and well-priced meal. Enjoyed the atmosphere, the style of the restaurant and the service was great. As a mom of teenage daughters I don't like the tight mini-dresses that the female staff wear, would prefer to see them in trousers and a white blouse - it would be classier and set them apart from Moxies or other venues."

  • "The restaurant atmosphere is very open, almost studio style with very little privacy or coziness. The noise level kept going up and up the entire time we were there. It wasn't even a Friday or Saturday night but it was still just as loud. Food was awful, I didn't eat it. Even the waitress noticed I wouldn't eat it. Menu looks like they are trying to hard to be different but they didn't deliver on taste. Prices are quite high, dinner for 2 will be about $100. Not worth a second time. I will not recommend this place to anyone."

  • "Impressive wine room and large bar area. Very nice and efficient waiter. Food was uninspiring...curried chicken and rice was bland and presentation was lacking. From the outside it looked like a fine dining experience but inside it felt more like a sports bar. It wasn't what I hoped it would be. Had a nice time for my first visit nevertheless!"

  • "I went to Harpers with a client last week and we had the greatest hamburgers I'd had in a while so when the girls decided to meet for lunch I suggested Harpers! We had a nice leisurely lunch and chat. The food was delicious, our server Cal was wonderfully attentive and engaging and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Going back soon!"

  • "Food was just ok, perhaps a little highly priced for what you get. The waitress commented 'our steaks are giving The Keg a run for it's money'. What an odd statement. For such a large place, the accoustics aren't great. Really noisy at dinner. Lunch was better as it was a smaller crowd. Not as many groups milling around the bar. I'm hoping the large patio area will be a great spot come summer."

  • "We live close and were excited about having a new restaurant near us. The food and service were excellent. Our only disappointment was the skimpy identical dresses the waitresses had to wear. Very short and tight. The owner might want to rethink the attire. It just made the restaurant look cheap and exploitative."

  • "As first time diners at Harper's Landing, our party of 3 was very impressed with EVERYTHING! We enjoyed trying out many of the appetizers and we were not disappointed. Generous portions, very delicious, reasonable prices and last but not least, our server was very pleasant and helpful with our choices. I would highly recommend this establishment."

  • "This was the first time to Harpers Landing, after hearing mixed reports from friends was not sure what it would be like. We were seated quickly after i had already reserved a table so good. Our waitress arrived promptly and a drinks order was taken they to arrived in a timely manner. Dinner ordered it seemed to take a little time to arrive but when it did it was very good. Portions sizes great just the right amount. We ordered dessert again good though the chocolate cake could have done with being taken out of the fridge for a few minutes. It was very noisy in there but I guess that is the design of the building, you might find some older people in the evening when busy will find it hard to hear, will I go again. Yes."

  • "They sat us at the worst possible table right next to the hostess and the front door. We asked to be moved and they sat us at the second worst table in lounge chairs where we could barely reach the table to eat and had spotlights on us. The food was really good but the poor seating ruined the experience"

  • "This place has quickly become the hot spot of Oakville. The food is good. Service is good. There is a lively mature bar scene on one side and a quieter more relaxed dining room on the other. Nothing really separates the two areas and they keep the music fairly loud. So by quieter, I mean less people around your table. They spent a ton of money on this place so this place needs to be full every night to payback investors. Hopefully Oakville residents will maintain their exuberance. If you have a food or service issue, you will have no problem finding an owner to talk to because there is one on hand every night. I for one can't wait for the patio to open in the summer, as there is a shortage of patio restaurants in south Oakville."

  • "Overall our experience was ok. The staff are friendly, upbeat and attentive. Overall the food was average. Chicken curry was ok. Trout was good. The heirloom tomatoe and burratta salad was disappointing, The tomatoes were not heirloom and were the flavourless kind you find in the grocery store in the winter. The basil and balsamic gelee it was served with was good, but the dish could also use a drizzle of olive oil. The burratta chesse was a tough. My main dinner was served before I completed my appetizer. And my companion's dinner dish was cleared from the table whle I was still eating (a pet peave of mine). Good atmosphere at the bar and I would go back for a drink, but not dinner."
