We celebrated a family member's Anniversary and needed a cake at the last minute and the Manager quickly made us a wonderful cannoli cake and wrote on it. The writing was so so/so but the cake was fresh & delicious as was the entire meal. We will definitely be returning.

We have eaten many times at this beautiful local Long Island Restaurant in Cold Spring Harbor. Request a table upstairs and you can view a beautiful sunset from the large windows facing the water. The food is always exceptional as is the service. Two of us enjoyed the pecan encrusted Tilapia, the filet steak was tender and tasty and the veal dishes were delicious. This is a friendly welcoming place to enjoy a fine meal with friends or just 2 people.

Upstairs dining room has a great view of Long Island Sound. Our waitress was both charming & knowledgeable. Bread service with Hummus was a nice way to begin while browsing the menu with our friends. Watermelon Salad was not too exciting, but the Spaghetti with Clam Sauce was excellent, as was the rest of our dinner.

This week, celebrating a friends birthday we went back to Harbor Mist and despite the great company and great location, just had a bad evening of food and service. Not all was bad, but here's a run down. Great location, nice view and nice deco. Waitress was very friendly, overtly so, but unfortunately missed the mark on service. Drinks order was messed up, Mojito's tasted like weak sugar water, Martini with a twist came without it and after several reminders a few wedges of lemon were served. Burrata starter was excellent, but they ran out, so chef sent me a caprese salad on the house (thank you). Veal chop specials (x2) and lamb chops were definitively ordered medium rare and arrived well done. Chef sent complimentary wine instead, Thanks

This is a good find in a quiet town. We sat upstairs during prime time on a Weekend night and, while we were seated near the back of the room, we still had great views of the harbor and sunset through the wall of windows. The food was better than expected- high marks on the seafood risotto and tuna dishes. They make basic favorites for kids even though they don't advertise a kid's menu. The service was fine, even if a bit unpolished, and all were friendly. We were not given a wine list and it seemed like the 2 servers had the whole floor to tend to. The crowd started out as very old but those with young families started coming in around 8. On the whole, it was very good from the food to the view. We would gladly return.

WE ALL HAD DIFFERENT FISH CHOICES WHICH WERE EXCELLANT. YOUR WAIT STAFF WAS A LIITLE OVER WELMED

It's taken 4 years for the new owner to restore the reputation of this prime water view location. The wait staff is friendly and with good intentions but to a point of confusion. We were not sure who was waiting on us. 2 people asked us for our orders and 3 were working the table. The owner stopped by with sincere interest in our experience. The food was very good and they accommodated special adjustments and requests. Our party of six was given the round table requested too. We will be back. I highly recommend eating at the bar too; especially if you get there before sunset.

The noise level was not nearly as bad as I had anticipated, having read earlier reviews. And right next to us was a family party of about 20, spanning 4 generations We were upstairs, one table away from the windows, but the view over the harbor was still pretty good. The only ding was that my diner - a seafood lasagette special - was barely warn ... tasty, but not hot enough (the plate itself was hotter). My wife had the salmon and she said it was good, but not outstanding. As others have said the service was outstanding.

We were a party of 7 for a birthday brunch. I requested to be seated with a view in the most intimate setting. The staff at the restuarant were good enough to call me within the day I made the reservation to alert me via voicemail there was a private party and they would not be able to seat us upstairs. I called the next day and I was told that there would be another party going on downstairs but we could be seated in the same room. I still wanted to go there regardless of the situation. When we got there, it was understandably noisy because of the parties. We opted to sit at a table near the bar where it was more quiet and only one other party of 6 was eating. I enjoyed the food and service and would recommend Harbor Mist to all.

We enjoyed Harbor Mist this past Sunday as a party of four. I was a little concerned that the food would suffer as a restaurant primarily focused on location and view. Boy, was I wrong. Everything was just perfect, the food well prepared and just the way I would cook it. Servers were nice, waters constantly refilled, the manager even came by to check on the table. We had scallops, skirt steak, seafood risotto and the Hawiian grouper. There were many couples and families enjoying the view from the upstairs dinding room. So much better than chain alternatives in Huntington. If looking for seafood, recently I also had dinner at Jewel in Melville which has a big name, both the staff and the food at Harbor Mist blows Jewel away, hands down.

It was very busy when we arrived so we were looking forward to a nice evening, that soon changed when we went to the bar to wait for our table! The bartender could not get our order right! We asked for limes, we got lemons, we asked for a gimlet we got gin and tonic! When one of our party ordered scallops for dinner we werent told the kitchen was out of them until they brought the rest of the entrees 45 minutes after our appetizers! Never again!!

I haven't been here for a long time... perhaps there is new management from when I last came, because it was much nicer than I remember. Mostly people seem to want to be seated upstairs, probably because of the view of the water. However, i enjoyed the more spacious feeling on the first level.
