Harbor house was very accommodatingHarbor house was very accommodating to my family with one person being handy capped and seeing impaired. Servers and hosts were awesome as well as the food. It was a birthday dinner I will always remember. Cheers5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for brunchWe had Mother's Day brunch there. Fantastic! Wife needs to eat only gluten-free foods. Staff was extremely accommodating. We're going back in a few days for dinner.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Love The Harbor House!Another wonderful experience at the Harbor House. Mother's Day Brunch buffet was phenomenal. The service, the food and the view were all stunning. You can't go wrong at Harbor House.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticMe and My Husband celebrated Mother's day there it was absolutely beautiful and the the food was Great.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst timeThis was the first time at Harbor House and it will not be the last. This is new Milwaukee dining experience for me. It was worth the 1 1/2 hour drive. Great food, great service, great atmosphere and a wonderful view of the lake front. I can't wait to come back.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat evening on the LakeVery special evening, service was excellent.. Special kudos to Delia and her associate. Had a reservation for 4 and needed to change to 5 at last minute. Ladies at front desk were very accommodating. Would highly recommend the Harbor House to all5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Seafood in MilwaukeeHave eaten at this Bartolotta establishment several times for both lunch and dinner. Never disappointed in any dish. Superb selection of fresh seafood. The preparation is simple but elegant. They highlight the fish rather than hide it under thick sauces. Service is always impeccable. Prices are high, but appropriate for the quality, service and ambience.
The Bartolotta restaurants are the best in Milwaukee. Lake Park Bistro, Bacchus and Bartolotta Ristorante are among my favorites. Because the Harbor House is a partnership with Cudahy, they give Bartolotta frequent diner points but will not redeem them.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMharbor house lunchExcellent food and service. A great place to enjoy a steak for a special lunch.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMRomantic and DeliciousI took my fiancé here for her birthday and it was perfect. She had halibut which was cooked to perfection. I had the steak and prawns which I ate slow so I could savor every bite! The wine list is great. We got a Pinot Grigio imported from Italy and our first sip reminded us of our trip to Venice. I think the fact that we were seated where we could look over Lake Michigan which also triggered the memory. I highly reccomend this place. The service was great and it was worth every penny.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMImprovedAfter what we felt was an uneven beginning, we felt the menu and the service has improved dramatically. A great view and great seafood. I had the halibut special and it was delicious5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy at Harbor HouseTook 2 former Milwaukeeans to H.H. for dinner. They were very impressed with the atmosphere and the food. One told our waitress he was "in heaven" as he consumed his oysters. The three of us had fish for entrees and all were perfectly prepared. Our waitress had a great manner; we really enjoyed her. Service was attentive but not hovering. Our only criticisms dealt with drinks. We couldn't get Absolut Citron--Grey Goose just isn't as good--and there were no "tubs", i.e., double old fashioned glasses for our rocks drinks, which were a little less generous than can be found elsewhere in Milwaukee.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for lunchExcellent place for a lunch meeting. Service was top notch, timing was great. Portions served were perfect and the attention to detail is spot on.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMI asked for a quiet locationI asked for a quiet location near a window and that is exactly what they had saved for us. The music was a bit loud but when I asked the server to have it quieter, the music was lowered. The food was served hot and in an attractive presentation. both meals--perch sandwich and trout almondine--were well seasoned and very tasty.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was greatReservation was easy to use. I had requested a window side table, and they gave my group and excellent window side table. Service was very good, good was great, and the ambiance was also very good. The views can't be beat!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner with a ViewDinner at Harbor House has always been enjoyable but our last visit was our best. We were seated in a booth facing the Art Museum on a very pleasant May evening. Service was attentive but not intrusive and the food was outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe overall atmosphere wasThe overall atmosphere was great, the jazz music in the background and the pleasant staff we’re a welcomed surprise. The foods was, for the most part, very good and so was the layout for each station. The option of also ordering something from the kitchen was a nice touch which increased our satisfaction, because it was good. I was very pleased that we had the option of sitting either in your bar area or at a table in your dining rooms. We chose the bar area, so we could have the outside view, and your bartending staff (Lisa and Thor) were nothing short of fantastic, especially since they probably didn’t really feel like having to help us and man the Bloody Mary bar too.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMthe environment was great!the environment was great! We enjoyed our time there. The only thing we were not as impressed with was the food. The food was good but not outstanding. I suppose for the price we paid we just expected it to be a little better. Service was wonderful. We didn't feel rushed out but got our food in a timely manner5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat foodi was apprehensive about ordering anything more than a sandwich, but the rainbow trou was absolutely delicious. initially we were seated in the main dining area which was kind of loud because the kitchen is open, but we asked to move further down and teh view was lovely and min noise. went out for husband's bday, will likely be back. though expensive will be for special occasion only :)5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat evening outWe really enjoyed the seafood. The view of the city and especially the art museum make this restaurant reaaly a gem for the city.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were here for our 28thWe were here for our 28th Wedding Anniversary. We had some minor issues (steak was slightly undercooked) but the waitress and the management staff went "out of their way" to make everything right. Went above and beyond the call of duty. The salmon was excellent. Scallops were pan seared to perfection, not dry. We will be back. Great place. Can't say enough about the service.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time. We'll be back!First time at the Harbor House. We'll be back. The view was spectacular. Service was exceptional. Food was wonderful. Even our 7 year old was comfortable and pleased with her dinner!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI enjoy the delicious foodI enjoy the delicious food and the beautiful views from the Harbor House. It is a great place to take visitors, lovely views of the art museum and Milwaukee skyline.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AM4th time there and it was4th time there and it was outstanding. The Walleye was superb - great view of downtown and great wine selection.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat atomosphere near shoreGreat atomosphere near shore to enjoy fresh seafood and fine wine.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was a very good experience. This was a very good experience. The food is excellent, the servers were attentive and the atmosphere is unbeatable. I will definitely go back4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went here to celebrateWe went here to celebrate my wife's birthday. Fully intending to get the lobster pot pie because I've had it before, I was instead swayed by the Walleye with spring vegetables. Really, it was the description of the spring vegetables (we went in April) that got me. Ramps, fresh spring peas, carrots and fava beans. The fish was great and the vegetables were perfectly seasoned -- the few that were there. I had exactly one half of one fava bean in there. Two carrots. And a handful of peas and cut up asparagus and ramps. Luckily I asked for more bread or I would have gone away hungry.
My wife ordered the Madagascar shrimp and filet combo. She had to send the "medium" filet back as it was overcooked (almost no pink showing).4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary night outOur initial interaction with a hostess on the phone was not great and a little off putting. However, the Harbor House offered lovely ambience, beautiful scenery - rain or shine, and delightful wait staff. I ordered a champagne cosmo which was delicious. The seafood bisque was rich and flavorful. I had a squash and mesclun salad that had a cider vinaigrette and goat cheese - was SO GOOD! My husband and I both ordered a surf / turf combo. He had king crab legs and I had lobster tail. The filets were cooked to perfection and tender. My husband would have prefered a larger portion of King Crab legs but thoroughly enjoyed what he had. The wait staff was kind enough to provide a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. My husband ate it all!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is amazing and theThe food is amazing and the service was great. Sometimes the two servers weren't on the same page, but it wasn't a big deal. The view was beautiful. Harbor House is a very nice restaurant, great for a special night out.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good restaurant withVery good restaurant with fantastic views. This is the place to bring guests from out of town to truly see what Milwaukee has to offer.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat table and waitstaff.Great table and waitstaff.
Key lime pie was scrumptious!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday BrunchThe food and service were fantastic. The scenery is breathtaking and creates a wonderful mood for dining. The only area of opportunity is for the hostesses. They were surprisingly unaccomodating when we asked for a table instead of a booth in a quarter-full restaurant. Thankfully the brunch servers and our waitress were wonderful and professional and made up for that surprising encounter. I will go back in a heartbeat!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding brunch especiallyOutstanding brunch especially if you like seafood but expensive. Need to check your bill. We only dine there three times (brunch, lunch, & dinner) and this was the second time we were over charged on the bill.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service was veryThe food and service was very good. The swordfish was excellent and was done perfectly. The special with fresh vegetables was a bit bland. Service was excellent.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA nice restaurant with a greatA nice restaurant with a great view! Servers are knowledgable and friendly!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMHarbor House is very highHarbor House is very high quality seafood restaurant located in an exciting location with views directly on the Lake. They have inexpensive valet parking and a polite and energetic staff. We like the entire concept. It is THE place to go for a great variety of oysters and fresh seafood---and wine lovers will be impressed with a very decent selection at a variety of prices. Also, I discovered their lunch--and it is fun to go there and sit at the bar.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI had not yet been to theI had not yet been to the Harbor House for dinner. It was very East Coast; crisp whites and blues and Lake views all around. If you like seafood, the menu was FULL of options. I had a hard time choosing. Drinks were hard to come by for less than $10 each but when I wasn't entirely satisfied with my choice, the server did try to fix it for me. I would be back for a special occasion but it wasn't a cheap date.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst visit-the ambiance,First visit-the ambiance, service and food were great! Nice view of the city and art museum too. It's nice to have such a good seafood restaurant in Milwaukee and be able to get fresh oysters among other things. Scallops, soup, desert were outstanding. One thing to keep in mind is that this property in managed by Bartolottas but there is a sign near the front entrance saying they are not a Bartolottas restaurant. Thus no Bartolottas points and Bartolottas gift cards probably won't work. Not a big deal but be aware so you aren't surprised. Also, no self parking unless you get one of the very few nearby spots on the street. Only valet parking at $4.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough the service was great,Although the service was great, I was slightly dissapointed by some oyseters that were not as fresh as they should have been. Two people in our party ordered the swordfish and they were both overcooked. The branzino was great and the filets ordered were also cooked well. We were very pleasantly surprised to receive 4 desserts on the house. Again, the service was excellent. I would go back again.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I went to HarborMy wife and I went to Harbor House to celebrate our 1st year wedding anniversary. I have to say we both loved the place and the service was excellent. I enjoyed the fresh oysters and she had the steamed mussels in white wine sauce. We had for dinner the combinations dinners and we loved them. We even had time to do a little walk around the restaurant which is just by Lake Michigan and it was a pleasant experience. My wife and I will be visiting soon.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMRAW OYSTER BAR is fantastic.RAW OYSTER BAR is fantastic. Food is very good but somewhat overpriced. You are paying more for the view (I think). The service was excellent.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe celebrated our anniversaryWe celebrated our anniversary with dinner here. I had requested a nice table with a view and we were seated at the best table in the house - a corner view of the water and lake shore. We were also served a dessert on the house for the occasion. Great night!!!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMLooking for a special night out?Second time I visited in the last few months great views, great service, great food and wonderful ambiance. What more could you ask for?4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our experienceWe enjoyed our experience and we will probably visit again.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMI had asked for grilled chickenI had asked for grilled chicken on my salad. The chicken that they served was a grayish brown, no grill marks, and did not have a grill flavor. It was did not look appetizing at all and had mediocre flavor.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch - service with spot on foodWe have taken our family here for dinner but love their brunch. We got to enjoy the Easter brunch, which was spectacular. By far, the best in the city.
One of my 8 year old daughters saw me writing this and asked if she could write the review:
This place has so so many cool things like 1.They have better food then many other restaurants 2.They have like the best food in town,it is so delicious that i just want more but there is so much desert to come 3.You guys have very good desert that I just want more like i said ,but your whipped cream is awesome![Like the chocolate]4.Your service will come in a flash not to say but they come so so quickly i barley get to read my book![In a awesome good way so don't worry].3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHarbor House for happy memoriesAbsolutely fabulous in every way. Great food, beautiful views, very clean. Enjoy familiar foods or interesting updates to traditional fare. If you visit for brunch, be sure to sample the lobster pot pie. Great staff: friendly, attentive, professional. Positive, upbeat atmosphere. Valet parking available.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible location -- evenIncredible location -- even on a cloudy evening, to view the city wrapping around the shoreline was beautiful... then add the pleasure of watching the lightscome on as the sky darkened was magical. The food was very good -- not incredible, but very good. Service was also very good, prompt, orders were all correct, etc. Our waitress was just a tad "chilly" and didn't really seem to care who or why we were there. Her assistant was more personable and friendly.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was fantastic,Everything was fantastic, my wife and I felt like we have discovered a new food treasure. The service was fantastic with the waitress being knowledgeable about even the fact that they had nine different kinds of oysters. Being from the East Coast, I thought oysters were oysters. Now I discover that there are multiple times and was just in the world to eat! Actually, while this is true, Harbor House was superb. We enjoyed the food, the view, the service and are looking forward to our next trip.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFive star the entire nightFive star the entire night Great ambience, efficient friendly and knowledgable staff.Amanda was the best server we had in along time . They took the extra step all night long3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great view andGreat food, great view and excellent environment. Only critique would be to revise the description of the seafood risotto...when ordered I had envisioned that the risotto would be topped with full portions of the seafood versus it being chopped up and incorporated into the dish. In doing this the purity of the seafood is somewhat diminished. Still a good dish, but would likely not order it in the future.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
