I wanted a special view of the harbor, for our 37th wedding anniversary. I had asked for an outside table thinking there were many tables outside. Turns out there is only one. We did have a very nice table on the second floor inside covered patio. Very nice view. That table outside just sat empty the whole time we dined. It looks like they don't read the special requests. This was one of about six sea food restaurants that has Alaskan King Crab Legs. They were good.

My husband and I traveled to San Diego (via Amtrak) from Newport Coast. We first visited the USS Midway Museum which was a "10". I had selected this restaurant for our lunch because of the proximity to the Midway and because of the location/view. Needless to say, it was a huge disappointment. We both ordered fish. Both were overpriced and overdone. Way too touristy and some of the diners looked like they came in straight from the beach in shorts and flip-flops. Would not recommend.

Unfortunately we had a poor experience. The restaurant was extremely busy and I think we were forgotten about. We watched as people who were seated after us, ordered, received, ate their food and left before we had anything on the table to eat. IT was frustrating. The food finally came and meals that should have been hot were luke-warm or cold. Ultimately the manager comped the whole meal- so that's a great sign of integrity in my opinion. I love the location and will definitely go back again. Everyone can have a bad day. The manager stepped up, took responsibility, comped our meal and so I will be back for another try and although I'm sharing a relatively poor experience, I would recommend giving this place a try.

Made reservations through Open Table , there was a table with a water view waiting for us. Nick our waiter very attentive and courteous. My husband had filet mignon which was cooked to perfection (medium- rare) & I had the seafood risotto which was delicious . Will definitely come back !

My husband and I had a very enjoyable 3 hours at Harbor House last weekend. Wonderful view table in the bar area for a leisurely happy hour followed by an early dinner. The halibut was fabulous as is the clam chowder..tremendous service with no one rushing us along. We have eaten at Harbor House several times over the years and it has always been a pleasant experience with great food.

The first time I ate here I was with my grandma and sister, and the second time I was with my boyfriend. Both times the service and food were exceptional and I left very satisfied. My only complaint is that if you go for lunch it is a little warm in the dining room, but i would recommend eating on the deck for dinner as there is a wonderful view of the bay from there. The seafood is always fresh and because of that it is a little pricey, but for special occasions it is perfect.

We wanted to try one of the restaurants close to our hotel (Marriott Marquis Marina) in San Diego. Because of the variety offered, we decided to try Harbor House. Once we were seated, we informed our server that our son has food allergies. They were very understanding and helpful in guiding us on food choices for him. Our meals were very good, the view from our table by the window was great, and the service was excellent. I recommend Harbor House to anyone looking for variety and nice atmosphere near Seaport Village.

Overall good not a great experience for 2 reasons. First Is where they seated us was not shaded. It was uncomfortable from the glaring of the sun through the glass window outside patio. You cant even enjoy your dinner or the view. It would've have been great to have some kind of a shading that doesn't obstruct the view. Second, though the food was good it wasn't great. But to served by a slow waiter made the whole experience okay. She wasn't going to apologize anything. We had to constantly ask other waiters for more drinks because she rarely checked on us to make sure we got what we needed.

Such a disappointment. A bit of hype online and looking to have a nice dinner with family - my daughter was visiting from out of town. It's priced like a semi-classy place and being on the waterfront sounded appealing. But service was pathetic. Food was so-so. And, they sat us at a table with the sun just beating down on our faces (no shades, etc). Needless to say - won't be going back there even if it was a free meal... I don't have the time to wait that long to be served.

We made our reservations for our 4th of July vacation, thinking it would be a great place to eat then watch the fireworks. But at no time during the reservations process (making it via Open Table, the e-mail to confirm the reservation, or the phone call to confirm the reservation) was I told how horrible traffic and parking were on and around the restaurant on the 4th. They had to have known, it's like that every year. If they had said, come two hours early, we would have obliged or had the choice to go somewhere else. As it was, we sat in gridlock for an hour and had to choose between paying $50 for valet parking, walking over a mile to park, or going somewhere else. (We went elsewhere.) We came back the next night, and dinner was okay.

We made a reservation for 10 and I specifically indicated that it was a celebration for an engagement. We had a new server. It took about 10 minutes just to come over and take our drink order and then another 10 minutes + to receive it. The restaurant wasn't very busy. It was just dissapointing on an otherwise fun and wonderful night.

I specifically recall a time when the Harbor House was the top restaurant in San Diego and the #1 restaurant by volume not only in SD but all of CA. I knew something was awry when we entered the first floor to find it completely roped off. So obviously something deleterious has been going on here. I must say our server was outstanding and was very knowledgeable about the long list of wines available off the menu. She also never missed a beat when we needed her services. The three of us were quite pleased with our menu choices. The desserts were great; we sampled the Key Lime Pie (about as good as it gets outside Key West). My only criticism of the restaurant was the sub-standard care of the men's room.

We were quite disappointed in the service and food at the Harbor House. We had reservations and checked in 15 minutes early but had to go back to the desk 20 minutes after our reservation time to inquire about our table. We were seated then. We had a table outside on the patio with a nice view which was the only good part about our experience. The food was extremely bland with little taste especially for the price. There are far better restaurants in San Diego!

This dinner was a night out for my wife and I for our first year wedding anniversary. The food was great and the atmosphere was nice, but we were placed next to a table with numerous children and it was quite load. We were trying to have a romantic dinner out, and it was just not quite up to par for that. The price point was a little higher and wasn't planning on being spending our night out listening to so many children. Don't get me wrong I don't mind children and I would expect if we were at a pizza place or Denny's, but wanted a quieter night. I think you might want to ask people coming what they are there for when you seat next to families with numerous children. Thank you.

I picked Harbor House for my family of 13 for Mothers Day. Did it thru open table and asked for 12 noon. It gave me 2pm as the first available table so we took it. The biggest issue was when we arrived and went downstairs there were dozen of open tables. Far more open tables then filled ones. Why could we not get a earlier reservation. There was no sign the lunch crowd had just left. This buffet ended at 2:30 and we were just rolling in. They assured me that we would miss out on nothing but this was not the case. Many things that were listed were not available. What they had we enjoyed but it had been sitting around. For $604.00 it should have been a better experience.

Most of the other food looked and tasted as though it had been sitting for awhile. The service was just terrible!! Went for Mother's Day Brunch and had a lovely meal. Omlets made to order were tasty! Some of the hot food was a little cold but how do you keep eggs benedict warm en' mass? Asked for a window table when making reservations WAY in advance but had to sit our 5 people on two round tables put together while we watched a table of 5 "at the window" sit empty while we ate our whole meal. Tried to change but said everything was reserved...It was still a nice day with family!
