The waiter was in-attentive. There were no offers to bring bread (we never got any, even after asking), no water, drink refills...nothing. The vegetables were cold, the potatoes were tepid, there was no offer of dessert, it was not good.

Came here to celebrate our mom's 80th birthday. The staff was great. They allowed us to keep the cake in their refrigerator before and after lunch so we could spend time walking around the village. The waitress brought the cake out with lit candles, covering them with a glass to keep them lit. She also helped take pictures. The only poorly prepared food was the vegetable side dish, which the waitress noticed and didn't charge us for. She also separated our check into three parts even though we weren't sitting in order. The view from the restaurant was an added bonus, which our mom really enjoyed. Glad we chose this place to celebrate.

The sourdough rolls they bring out to you were hot & fresh. The clam chowder was tasty, and while our entree was nothing but fried food (the galley platter), split between two people it actually did a good job of satiating our appetites. I wasn't thrilled with the service. When we arrived, it took at least 5 minutes, almost 10 minutes, for our waitress to come over. When she finally did, we had already decided on what to order so our menus were down. Instead of the usual "Hi, I'm (insert name here), I'll be your waitress..." spiel, we got "So, it looks like you two are ready to order". We hadn't even gotten drinks yet, but we ordered it all in one shot. Never got her name, but it felt like she couldn't be bothered with us.

We were in the area because of a convention & used Google & OpenTable to find. It was close and walking distance from Hyatt & Marriott Hotels at the San Diego Convention Center. Most importantly could book the time I needed. Double checked with hotel's concierge & they said others would be better, but when he checked other wait times or table times were ridiculously long. He said Harbor House was inconsistent but could be good food or mediocre food & said sometimes the service was weak. One meal was very good the other was OK, service was fine, no one left unhappy or unsatisfied. So the place worked for what we needed & would recommend. They need to build a better reputation by excellence & the place could double sales mid-week.

We had dinner here while visiting SD for a few days. I booked via OpenTable and was promptly greeted and givin a nice table labeled as "reserved". Our waitress was friendly and prompt. My wife Had the vegtable risoto and I had the swordfish. Hers was delish and mine was undercooked but the manager was excellent and took care of it right away. The menu had a nice selection (American) and the building and its grounds were very nicely kept. Overall a very pleasant experience

Brought out of town guests hoping the food would be as nice as the view. Never was offered water with dinner, and bread came out with dinner not before. Paella was not the best I've had and my guests both had the shrimp marinara which had a watery sauce and very tasteless. Cocktail was very good and prices were typical for food and drinks. Probably would give it one more try to see if things have improved.

The food was really good, the seafood is very fresh of course. The server was friendly and because the food we ordered took a minute to cook, our server slipped us a bowl of fresh clam chowder to keep us tamed. I thought that was pretty cool. The food was ok, but I didn't get what I ordered. Specifically, I asked for fries and got mashed. Since I had a guest, I just let it slide. I found the cost way too high for the quality and volume. Lots of better options nearby. My mixed drink was really poor, but once again, I wasn't in the mood to make waves. I just will go elsewhere next time.

It had been several years since I ate at the Harbor House. Beautiful location but the food was just OK, not great. The crab wontons we ordered came in a beautiful presentation but they were warm, not hot in temperature. The entree's were good but nothing special. The seasonal veggies were OK but some type of seasoning would have made them tastier. They were bland but the roasted potatoes were tasty. Overall the food was OK, nothing wrong but nothing special.

Both people in our party had the fish and chips. The fish lacked a little flavor, but nothing I couldn't fix with salt. The texture of the coating was great. Fish was cooked beautifully, it was so flaky that it was hard to keep in on the fork. The views are fabulous. Would like the opportunity to dine at night. Great people watching while eating. Our waitress needed to work on her service skills. The overall experience was good enough that I would go back. Paying for parking was the only serious drawback.

This was our 30th anniversary, and we had high hopes of a perfect dinner by the bay. Alas, it was very hot in San Diego and their AC did not seem to function. We were seated in a table by the window with the sun beating down, so we had to move after a few minutes. Really got the evening off to a bad start. The wait staff did a fine job- remember they were working in the heat also, so they are to be commended. The food was good, served promptly. Very tasty meal. Wife had salmon on a plank with veggies and potatoes, I had the coconut shrimp with fries and added a small dinner salad. The night was a disappointment since we picked HH to enjoy the nice bay views, but we really did not get the nice view table we asked for due to the AC fail

When I made the reservations thru Open Table, I was very pleased with the ease of service. I put in a special request of a table with an unobstructed view of the ocean, because of out of town guests who live far from the ocean. Even though we arrived early, my request was honored with a wonderful corner table with a magnificant view. My guests were very pleased with the view as well as the service, wine list and food preparation. Overall it was a fabulous dining experience. We would recommend and return to your location without hesitation. Thank you so much.

Haven't been here in years, but decided to take my boyfriend for the view on a trip to Seaport Village. The view is awesome, but it was hot inside- no ac?, We both ordered a beer and a calamari appetizer. Beer didn't stay cold long, and the calamari was NOT good- no seasoning, rubbery, and served with a side of marinara that seemed like it had just been poured straight from the can. Decided to get our check and bounce, instead of staying for dinner. Hostess made eye contact but didn't even acknowledge or say anything when we walked by to leave (and she was not busy). Overall, very disappointing as years prior I thought it was an amazing spot.

We were staying downtown and wanted a special dining experience for our last night of vacation in San Diego. When we first arrived, we were seated in the dining room near the windows and the amazing view of the sunset. Since the dining room was too warm, however, we asked to be moved to the patio, which the hostess did with no hesitation. The waitress that night stopped at our table and greeted us with "I guess I'll be taking care of you tonight" and then ran off without taking our drink order. About 10 min later, she came back and asked if we knew what we wanted. The food was good and the view was spectacular and we had a nice time. Too bad we got a bad waitress.

I wanted a special view of the harbor, for our 37th wedding anniversary. I had asked for an outside table thinking there were many tables outside. Turns out there is only one. We did have a very nice table on the second floor inside covered patio. Very nice view. That table outside just sat empty the whole time we dined. It looks like they don't read the special requests. This was one of about six sea food restaurants that has Alaskan King Crab Legs. They were good.

My husband and I traveled to San Diego (via Amtrak) from Newport Coast. We first visited the USS Midway Museum which was a "10". I had selected this restaurant for our lunch because of the proximity to the Midway and because of the location/view. Needless to say, it was a huge disappointment. We both ordered fish. Both were overpriced and overdone. Way too touristy and some of the diners looked like they came in straight from the beach in shorts and flip-flops. Would not recommend.

Unfortunately we had a poor experience. The restaurant was extremely busy and I think we were forgotten about. We watched as people who were seated after us, ordered, received, ate their food and left before we had anything on the table to eat. IT was frustrating. The food finally came and meals that should have been hot were luke-warm or cold. Ultimately the manager comped the whole meal- so that's a great sign of integrity in my opinion. I love the location and will definitely go back again. Everyone can have a bad day. The manager stepped up, took responsibility, comped our meal and so I will be back for another try and although I'm sharing a relatively poor experience, I would recommend giving this place a try.
