Had dinner with family and friends. The food was great and our waitress, Barbara, was AMAZING. I don't think I've had a better waitress. Entrees are a little pricey, but we had a great time. The table agreed that the Tempura Shrimp was excellent, topped only by the unique "cocktail" sauce served with it. It was dark out, so we didn't get to enjoy the fabulous location (which probably justifies the entree price).

We were looking for a restaurant with fresh seafood and a view to celebrate our and our friends' anniversaries while on vacation. We opted for a better menu and a lesser view and ended up at the Harbor Grill. WE were not disappointed. The food was excellent and fresh! The wait staff friendly and it was fun to watch our food being prepared through the window.

Harbor Grill is very dependable. The fish is fresh and the service is excellent. We started with sea bass ceviche which was excellent and of sufficient size for two to share. I had the sautéed scallops with rice pilaf. The scallops were good (four of them) but I did not think the broccoli and carrots complemented the dish very well. My guest had swordfish with BokChoy and she said it was good. We took our own wine and paid corkage. The quiet background piano music is very nice. Most entrees are just under $30.

I ordered the Chilean Seabass, it was horrible, smothered in tomato soup and tasted like rubber. The mashed potatoes were barely there, they had turned to mush, far too much liquid, not at all what I expected for a restaurant that is supposedly known for its seafood. I clearly ordered the wrong thing but none of my friends mentioned that their orders were good either. The atmosphere was nice but dare I say its your typical tourist restaurant, all about the location and the food not so much.

You can't beat an ocean view! Three of us went for lunch, were promptly greeted and seated. Our server was delightful and playful. Plenty of choices and she guided us through the menu. No issues when making special requests. Two of us ordered salads however I have to say they were disappointing. The Monarch salad was a portion of chopped lettuce with tiny additions of a few beans and a minuscule tossing of a few other items. Since our guest ordered that I was embarrassed that she was going to leave hungry. For $15 I thought this salad was extremely measly. My ahi tuna salad consisted of several very small slices of tuna over nicely dressed greens but again, a bit skimpy. The recommended fish tacos were the best out of the three.

We shared the Ahi appetizer and would have licked the plate clean if we weren't out in a restaurant! It's delicious. We shared a bottle of wine and had great conversation. The staff is friendly, helpful and you never feel rushed or ignored. The food is perfectly seasoned. We had Salmon and Shrimp dinners and it's great that you can order them they way you want...just ask... Portions are great size, seafood is fresh and delicious and we will return

The home made gazpacho was the best I've ever eaten! Smooth tomatoe base w finely chopped veggies to perfection! My salmon was delicious. Service was good but honestly, the view is of a parking lot on the back side of the marina with a small building blocking most of the marina. That was disappointing. The piano player sits by the front door & you can hear all his lovely standards throughout the restaurant, even in the bathroom!

In the middle of a shopping center you find Harbor Grill, which by appearances, is commonplace. However they know how to pick and cook seafood. The waitress was charming and helpful. The table small but manageable. The gazpacho was exactly right, perfect for a warm summer night. The broiled fish skewer (the fish, not the skewer) was perfectly cooked. The Alaskan Halibut, though a small portion, was cooked to perfection. It had been a long day, so we chose to end with the mudpie which was spot on. Overall a great place for a quiet dinner out.

Definitely wasn't the dining experience I expected. We decided to try Harbor Grill for an early dinner on a Tuesday night. Not the easiest place to find. Other restaurants in the complex had signs visible from the street. Had to drive around the parking lots a few times to find the restaurant. Noise was unexpectedly loud, decor dated, view isn't as nice as reported and the food was bleh. My halibut was overcooked, the salmon wasn't anything special and even though it was supposed to be a fresh pot, the coffee was terrible. Crossing this off my list of restaurants to return to.
