To start i had a big easy martini which was strong but delicious, perfect for sipping. The food was good, we had the rib eye and filet (8oz), but nothing special (get better tasting steaks at the Texas Roadhouse) and they came with a vegetable mix (green beans, tomatoes, eggplant) that were equally average. However, the appetizer (tuna tartare), and the desert sampler plate were absolutely fantastic. Easy online reservations for two with concrete acknowledgment.
Got there early (25 minutes), valet parked and our table was ready. Service was top notch (friendly but not intrusive) with an extensive wine list and steak selection. Never rushed through our shared appetizers (calamari was melt in your mouth) and filet was done to perfect temperature.
Desert was fine, plus cappuccino and tea were piping hot.

From the minute we walked in the door, we had a phenomenal experience. The bartender was extremely friendly and did just the right amount of chatting with us. When it was time to move on to our seats, we were greeted by another friendly waiter. He was most attentive to our needs and explained the menu to us superbly.
The food was absolutely mouth watering. From the salad, to the main meal to the spectacular dessert - this was the best dining experience I have ever had. I hate to be late but I hate to wait, even more. The hostesses seemed to be doing the best they could but it was the wait staff who made everything all right. From the moment we were seated, they killed us with attentive service. The food was excellent, but the service even more so.
We had plenty of time to enjoy our special evening and the staff was not intrusive in any way, just checked in with us at appropriate times and made sure we were enjoying ourselves.

The bartenders were helpful, comical and attentive. The wait staff were professional and attentive. The meals were fabulous . I had the rack of lamb and my husband had prime rib. We had the special salad which was very nice, the cheese and olives made it very special. We were celebrating our 33 wedding anniversary. The gluten free chocolate cake with the drizzle of chocolate "Happy Anniversary" made the evening extra special. Thank you. We did have a small hiccup when my husband got a medium steak instead of the medium-rare he ordered, but the kitchen sent out a replacement in good time and gave us a shrimp cocktail to enjoy while waiting. The lobster bisque was delicious and both filets (8oz for me, 16oz bone-in for him) were perfectly done in the end. I highly recommend the truffle butter! Three of us had prime rib and I had the Delmonico cut and everyone was very pleased with the food. In combination with the sides and the seafood appetizer all was great. Service was very good as well. The only thing you have to be prepared for is Boston prices. That is the reason we do not frequent the Chophouse on a regular basis. That being said, one's expectations of superlative food and service are always extremely high which may sometimes cause a less than favorable reaction when a particular dish falls short of those expectations. Such was the case with the Mother's Day "leg of lamb" special which though highly touted proved to lack tenderness and superior meat quality. The chewiness and texture of the meat proved to be a disappointment when both cutting a portion or attempting to eat and swallow.
Based on the usual hight standards for such an offering, I would be reluctant to reorder this dish. I wish the restaurant was closer so that we can dine there more often. Our waiter was phenomenal and the food was great from the appetizers to the dessert. I had the surf and turf. My tenderloin was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend had the special, the tomahawk steak. It was like nothing we had ever seen before. My boyfriend is a bit picky with restaurants and said that was the best steak he has ever had and we dine out often and have been to most of the big steak houses. We were running late due to late start out and heavy traffic due to venue at the Verizon Center that is just 4 blocks away. I called and let them know we were running late and to hold our table...we ended up being 35 minutes late. Our table was ready when we arrived, and just to add to the confusion there was another party of 2 with the same name-and our name is not common. Food, wine, service and ambiance were all excellent.
