    The Hanger Steak is super and it comes with a choice of 4 different steak sauce. We read about their Early Bird Special for a 3-courses dinner for $19.98. Boy oh boy, that's totally under priced and over our expectations. Service is attentive. The restaurant is a little behind on bringing our dessert and they came over to apologize profusely. We actually don't mind the wait because we were full from the complete dinner. My husband had a big green salad and I had the Cream of Mushroom Soup that is thick and creamy. The New York Cheesecake tastes like it just flew from NY (that explains why it took a bit longer to wait, lol). The warm Apple Turnover is served in a covered soup cup filled with vanilla ice cream that tastes heavenly!

    Really good service. Food was better than average for a hotel restaurant. I wish that the description had said this was in a hotel. It would have made finding it much easier! The major downside was that the restaurant connects the main lobby to the hotel rooms and ballrooms. There were people constantly coming through the restaurant in shorts or with their luggage. I would have recommended Hangar as a romantic spot or special occasion restaurant if it weren't for the bothersome people coming in and out.

    The over all night was a great time but it took almost an hour for us to receive the apetizer salad. Once the salad came our night actually started. The ambiance was quiet and a great feel to each room. The waitress was scarce at times but always had a smile. When our main course came, its presentation was beautiful and it was absolutely delicious. Even the dessert was prepared as if were meant for a picture.

    Hangar Steak is located in the Marriott Hotel, Burlingame. It's a big, modern and beautiful upscale restaurant right next to the lobby. Since it was Valentine's Day, they offered Australian Lobster Tail which is not on their regular menu. The lobster was delicious! I tried my hubby's steak (aged 21-28 day) and it was great! I'll definitely come back.

    Came to the restaurant for special occasion. Liked the wide spacing tables and relaxing atmosphere. The menu was a special occasion menu only. The food was good, but didn't provide enough vegetables. We asked for more vegetables which were provided without charge. The special menu was pricey, but the wine price was reasonable.

    I will NEVER EVER go here again unless the restaurant has a major RE-DESIGN and walls installed separating the restaurant from the lobby. The food was very good, but VERY OVERPRICED and the ambiance was terrible! And it was Valentine's Day. An early reservation was made, hoping to get a decent seating. I arrived before my reservation time and was seated immediately at a time when they were not yet busy AT ALL. Looking at the restaurant's web site, one feels that you will have a great view of the Bay, etc. WRONG! It seems most seats do not have a view, unless you like stretching your neck! I could not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy! Location is in the Marriott Hotel on Old Bayshore south of SFO

    I asked for Medium and came well done, asked for more butter for the bread and waited for 20 minutes after asking the server twice. Our server checked on us only one time. We couldnt get out of there soon enough. Food was good, but nothing spectacular. If the service was better I wouldn't have cared about having to send the steak back, but it wasnt.

    We had the prime time dinner which was a great bargain for $20. The steak was small which was to be expected, but there were no veggies or potatos included. They promote views of the bay and airplanes landing but this was a TV screen, not a window as expected.

    The ambiance was particularly unique portraying what their signature statement for this restaurant is. The tables were spaced apart quite nicely, lending an atmosphere of intimacy and privacy which was appreciated due to the fact it gets harder and harder to find nowdays. Too many establishments attempt to maximize the number of customers that can serve in one evening by employing an almost " picnic table" configuration" This restaurant did not. The steak I had was cooked properly and was genuine Angus. The server hovered around the table a bit too much, ready to swoop in and clear glasses/plates/etc. which I had obviously finished/ and was in a hurry to process my credit card At the end (only negative of the evening)

    We arrived for New's Eve Dinner. They offered a special 4 course menu for the evening, which was ok by us. To start off, the chef provided a special Panko Crusted Scallop, which was very good. Appetizer consisted of a soup (which I can not remember the name of) and a firecraker shrimp. The soup was awesome, the shrimp, you received 3 shrimp that were breaded and very spicy. You could not taste the shrimp because they were so spicy. The main meal, you could select from 4 items. We both chose the Filet Mignon Florentine medium rare. We had to send the first order back for over cooked steak, but they go it right the second time. The desert was awesome. My only complaint was the noise and the serve was terrible. Very SSLLOOWW

    My wife and I wanted to have a late dinner and decided to try Hangar Steak. I ordered a ceasar salad, the Hangar Steak with their signature spice rub (medium-rare), and a baked potato side. My wife had the mushroom brie soup, filet mignon (medium to medium-rare), and sauteed mushroom caps. Overall, the meals were enjoyable (we did share our meals a bit), but mine was better, as the filet mignon lacked flavor and the sauteed mushroom caps had a bit too much wine or sherry. The ambience and the service was excellent. My only gripe would be that it was a bit over-priced when compared to similar restaurants in the area; though it may be comparable to other hotel restaurants.

    In a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being the best I give this hotel a 10 across the board. The customer service was fantastic, the food was delicious, the presentation of the food was great and the price was perfect! To our surprise they have a primetime dinner menu from 5 - 6:30 p.m. and you can select a starter such as a salad or soup, entree and dessert. I ordered the mushroom brie soup, Hanger steak and hot apple crisp dessert w/ a scoop of vanilla ice cream all of $19.99. The Hangar steak is their signature steak and it's very flavorful! We also order 2 sides to go with the entree: baked potato and the golden asparagus - which were amazing! I would do w/o the potato next time because it was too much food. This is not your typical hotel rest.

    My wife and I went for dinner on a Saturday night to take advantage of their "Prime Time Dinners" which are offered (according to the menu on the website) "5:30 to 6:30 PM excluding holidays." When we got to the restaurant, the menu said that the Prime Time Dinners were NOT offered on Saturday or Sunday. While we were clearly mislead by the restaurant's website, we decided to have dinner anyway. Although the portions were relatively generous, the quality and taste of food was fair to good. Our server came by the table infrequently during the early part of our meal, leaving us without water for a time. We had previously liked to go to the restaurant in its previous incarnation as JW's Steakhouse when the service was much more attentive.

    This is a great place to take people for any reason. It is also great to have a high quality resturant on the penninsula, which is limited. This resturant and menu would feel at home in the City. Great views of the planes landing and the bay in general. We all loved the menu options, and that they were not overwelming. The quality of the food was very high. And my cocktails were very good. However the signature cocktails are a little dated. The Mojito was great but Apple Martini is very 5 years ago. The manager came by our table to ask about everyting and that is always nice. He asked for suggestion and seamed to really care. I think this is worth a try for everyone in the area to try if they like food and want to try something new!!

    The steak was great!!! It wasn't medium as I ordered (too done). But it was so good that it didn't matter as much as it could have. Great rub!! View was great!!! But the restaurant itself could have added to the ambiance greatly with furnishings and table settings to match the view. I will still eat there again, and have that steak. This time I will order it medium rare.:-)

    The steak was sub-par. $30.00 for a New York steak with no potato or veggies should get you pretty good steak, especially in a steakhouse. What I got was a piece of meat that was full of grissle. Ironically--since this is a steakhouse--my lady's salmon was very good. The service was good. The Ceasar salad was good. This place is in a hotel and had hotel-quality (i.e., poor quality) food.

    The food was good but not great. What you would expect from a hotel restaurant, although I did not know it was a hotel restaurant when I made the restervation. Hangar steak was good but not as good as other hangar steaks I have had in the past. Perhaps my expectations were too high. Breadsticks were limp and not crisp like they should be. Very nice view of the SF airport runways to watch planes take off and land.

    Not bad for a "Hotel Restaurant". Four in our party and each ordered a steak, each steak was cooked to specification. The smashed bourbon sweet potatoes were divine. Validate your parking ticket for free valet parking. (Valet did not tell us but explained to cashier and recieved free parking for the evening.

    While the view is engaging, the sense of being in a second rate hotel never leaves. The din of those Friday evening check-ins, the ever changing message board sign next to the elevator (my main view, unfortunately), and the snail's pace service put Hangar Steak at the very top of NEVER AGAIN dining. This reviewer was so hungry that she ate bread and butter and took the glacially-slow-to-arrive Delmonico steak home when it finally arrived -- too full from the bread and butter. The slow service prompted the reviewer to ask the Maitre D' to please find our server so that we might order. What a very expensive waste of a Friday evening. Living nearby, the restaurant has lost very steady and good-tipping future patrons.

    We had attended their Grand Opening several weeks ago and everything was wide open. Now, it's operating in a normal fashion. With all the restaurant designers that Marriott has at its disposal, I cannot believe their final plans included hotel guests walking thru the restaurant to access their room complete with baggage on wheels. That aspect took away from a very tasty steak dinner. I think Mr Marriott would be appalled!

    Great service,food and view. They were as good as they were before they remodeled and changed from J.W.'s. They have not missed a beat. We will go back often, even when it is not our anniversary ! Note: They also have a great happy and "yappy"* hour. "Yappy" hour is for ones doggy and is only on Fridays. Our dos loved it on a prior visit
