A word from Hana Hou Cafe
Come feel the Aloha of the North Shore in scenic Haiku. This gracious little gem is off the well paved trail. Your dining experience is Hawaiian at the base with strong French and Thai influences. We have fresh island fish, local organic produce and meats. Creative dishes made with pleasure in mind. Come through our bamboo gates and enjoy our tranquil garden setting. Sit indoors or outside. By day surround yourself in our garden setting of lush tropical fruits, herbs and taro that we use in our dishes. By night enjoy the local live music of Maui’s best and finest Jazz, Blues, Vintage Hawaiian, folk and more. We are just as proud of our musicians as we are of our food. A perfect setting to enhance your dining experience. We aim to have you come back for more. This is why we are HANA HOU meaning Encore or Do it again. We are open to large or small groups and are able to accommodate private parties or weddings. A hui hou & Mahalo!

We typically go to Colleen’s for our routine dinner’s out. It is always great food and a great value. Thought we’d try Hana Hou for a change of pace – hadn’t been there in years. Much to our surprise, it was excellent! I had the shrimp scampi, which had a great sauce (definitely not too thick like many places overdo) you could taste the wine/garlic, etc. My husband had the Thai curry chicken – excellent mild, flavorful sauce. Servings were a reasonable size, so were prices. Creme brulee for dessert was traditional and perfect! Live music in outdoor seating area was very pleasant and not intrusive, nor too loud. Friendly, helpful staff. All-in-all – a great local experience.
