Han Dynasty University CityFantastic food, friendly service! The food was fresh and well-balanced. The staff was extremely friendly. The waitress even gave my dad a hug for Father's Day! I love bringing my family here.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen Back Too Many TimesThis was our third visit to Han Dynasty in a matter of 2-3 weeks. While we are getting used to the intense spiciness of the food, we have also been trying some different things as well, and so far, everything has been great! As long as you can handle the spice, it'll be a fun experience. If you don't think you can handle it, the extremely friendly waiters can help!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulousThe Dan Dan Noodles and the cold noodles with chili oil were fabulous, as was the Ma Po Tofu and the Dry Pot style beef. Not numbingly spicy as some other Szechuan restaurants we have tried, it still has a nice kick but allows you to taste the outstanding flavors underneath. The different dishes all had a clearly distinct profile as well. Highly recommended.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMEven the Non-Spicy Stuff is GoodThird time to Han Dynasty in a matter of 2 months or less! My girlfriend has a craving for it almost every week, and I always get why. As incredibly spicy as some of the food can be, that's what makes it so fun and delicious. Plus, we haven't had a bad waiter or waitress yet. We'll probably be back soon!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spiceDan Dan noodles were excellent, just the right amount of heat as were the cucumbers - and I don't like cucumbers, but I couldn't stop eating these. Pay attention to the heat numbers - 5 is plenty for a good deal of heat.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food ranged from goodThe food ranged from good to very good. The waiter's recommendations were helpful and accurate, including the beer descriptions and recommendations.
The staff was friendly from the moment we entered to when we left.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic, except for theAuthentic, except for the bad American habit of using too much salt. Will be back!!!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic ExperienceFood was outstanding, especially accommodating diverse dietary needs and describing clearly the spice levels of each dish. Service was impeccable; clear, professional, polite, etc. We had a brief working meeting at the restaurant (at a time of the evening that wasn't going to be busy) and the staff did not rush us and accommodated our every need. Couldn't be happier with the dinner.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMSO HOTAs delicious as the food always tends to be at Han Dynasty, you should always be careful when ordering. They use a hotness scale from 1 - 10 to rate the spice of their food. Do not take that for granted! When they say 10, they are not kidding about it being the hottest thing imaginable. Honestly, the first thing I ever ordered there was the Pickled Chili Style fish (listed as a 5), and it took me 3 days and endless bowls of rice to even come close to finishing it (I never did). It tasted so good, though, that it was enough to push through the burn. Naturally, we asked them to make it a 3 the next time. Apparently, the Pickled Chili Style has a reputation for being spicier than listed. Who knew. Main point: AMAZING CHINESE FOOD.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWill revisitThis is my 2nd time dining in this restaurant. Both dine in experiences were pleasant with great customer services. And most of all, I really enjoy their food. So good! Make sure you choose the level of spiciness before ordering your dish if you can't bare the spicy taste! Will definitely want to go back again with more friends.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMMuch Better Than Manayunk LocationWe've eaten at the Manayunk location, which is quite good. University City is like a completely different restaurant with the same menu. The vegetables were very fresh, food was outstanding, and service very attentive.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMNice Place, Good FoodI think that says it all- service was friendly, food was good and the atmosphere was lively without being too noisy. Great place for a good dinner without spending too much money.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond time at Han and everySecond time at Han and every bit as good as the last. The waiter was very helpful in choosing dishes.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMfantastic.... as usalThis place is great! My boyfriend and I come here all the time. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get and the quality. Highly recommended!!!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSplitting the billThe only bummer about our dining experience was splitting the check. They will only split two cards and no more than that. A bit of an annoyance, but if you are aware of this in advance, then it shouldn't pose a problem.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was incredible,The food was incredible, with dishes unlike any other Chinese restaurant I've ever been to.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA great Chinese in the UniversityA great Chinese in the University area, and very high quality. Share the large portions with a group/4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMLove it! Must have the DanLove it! Must have the Dan Dan Noodles!! Pretty much everything I've had is good except for the Hot Sauce Style. It isn't bad but it pales in comparison to the rest of the menu.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my 4th time diningThis was my 4th time dining at this location of Han Dynasty and it is quickly becoming my favorite of the ones I have visited. The beer/cocktail list is a great addition to the already amazing food. Also it is very easy to park with the free garage and ample street parking. The interior of this location is also superior. Service was great and food was great!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AM偉大的食物和服務I was referred to this restaurant from a student that I teach and I felt good about it immediately. The hostess was prompt, efficient and knowledgeable. She also made a recommendation of the double cooked fish that turned out to be perfectly suited to my taste. The servers, we had two, were friendly but professional. The food style was from my favorite culinary area in China, the Szechuan Provence and Han Dynasty did a wonderful job of capturing the excitement of the spicy flavor that is indicative of Szechuan. The server suggested trying some appetizers in order to better judge the heat levels of the food. There are indications on a scale of one to ten next to the menu item. Dan Dan Noodles which I substituted rice noodles along with so3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHan Dynasty works on a "familyHan Dynasty works on a "family style" and Sichuan (or spicy) method, which means that everything is labeled on a heat scale that they can change. Dishes are meant for sharing: one dish can feed two with leftovers, four well, and oh, the waiter said that one bowl of soup can easily fit a group up to 6. Yes, portions are big and Cheap! Me and my date ordered one noodle dish, one scallion pancakes, and one main all shared and we had plenty to take home. It's a great place to go for a group! We went to the one in University City, on Market. When it's nice out, they have outdoor seating with a fire pit. Service was very nice for a crowded friday.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMNothing like working yourNothing like working your way up to level 10 at Han Dynasty!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first visit toThis was my first visit to Han's University City location. The menu is the same as their Old City location. I was meeting someone for a business lunch and it was the perfect setting. We shared Wontons in Chicken Broth followed by Crisy Rice Style Fish. Both were excellent! Our server was very friendly and accomodating as well.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
