Some of the food had sugar added,
which was not needed. Fiery as promised otherwise, with some excellent flavor as well. Make sure you get the veggies as a cooling counterpoint. Lovely space as well."

Our waiter Patrick was awesome. He
was patient and informative. This was not our first time there but it was for our friends, and they enjoyed the entire experience. The dan dan noodles are our go to and the dry pot is always a hit. Everything was delicious, hot and service was quick."
Dined on 7/7/2014
Overall, it was a good experience.
It's a little noisy and our actual server never showed up. Another server who noticed that we were waiting for a while took over our table and saved the evening. The food was amazing so I would definitely recommend."

Thoroughly enjoyed our time ...
Food was great and the service was terrific .."
Dined on 7/4/2014
All dishes are rated 1 to 10 to
indicate the degree of spiciness, with 10 being the spiciest. Truly excellent dining."
Dined on 7/2/2014
4 of us dined at the Olde City
location, only 1 in our group had eaten here before and was our guide for the night. We enjoyed every single morsel of our dishes even the hot Dan Dan noodles, tasty Salt & Pepper Shrimp to name a few. My only complaint would be that the food comes out too quickly, not enough pacing, and it was hard to find space on our table. There are many other dishes I'd like to try and we will definitely return to 1 of the locations."
Dined on 4/27/2014
The Dan Dan noodles were Amazing
and the service was fast. Our food came out in 5 minutes. I will be returning soon!"
Dined on 6/27/2014
The spicy cucumbers and DanDan
Noodles are hands down the best things on the menu"
Dined on 6/25/2014
Delicious food and very
helpful/friendly staff - would recommend for large groups to try the amazing tasting menu!!"
Dined on 6/24/2014
This Chinese restaurant has a
slightly unique method to ordering. But their implementation of what they have is good but not perfect. Food can come sl undercooked. Flounder soup is fantastic though. And some of the food is super spicy. A good place though and overall worth a trip."
Dined on 6/21/2014
The Han Dynasty chain of
restaurants serves by far the best chinese food I've ever had. I frequent the one in Exton, PA weekly so it was a treat to visit one of the other locations. The food was just as good, and they have a bar (unlike the Exton location). Beautiful restaurant. I recommend the Dry Pepper Chicken and Twice Cooked Pork Belly!"
Dined on 6/20/2014
Best Chinese food in Philly. I
love the ambiance of the new location. Han Dynasty is such a gem."
Dined on 6/15/2014
Made a reservation then realized
we didn't need a reservation because it was abut slow. Got seated immediately and waiter served us. Food was great! I would def recommend for people going out to eat in groups"
Dined on 6/13/2014
I love Han Dynasty's new location.
The food is always a great experience here. And the service was fantastic. "
Dined on 6/7/2014
The food is fantastic although the
menu can be a bit confusing. In regards to the entrées you really don't know what's coming out until it does but it's all good. The service is terrible. I've been here several times but the latest was the worst. Basically everything came out the same time and it was obvious they were just rushing you out trying to turn over as many tables as possible. It made it unpleasant enough that I don't know that in would go back to the old city location. Maybe I'll try one of then others. "
Dined on 5/30/2014
Our first time dining there, the
food was yummy and left us saying, we'd come back! Second time...food was bland. It had heat but not tasty. The fried dumplings were mostly dough :( "
Dined on 5/26/2014
best dan dan noodles in the
country hands down all the other stuff is great too, get the cucumbers and scallion style shrimp"
Dined on 5/26/2014
If you like Sichuan cuisine, this
is the place for you. The food was great and so was the service."
Dined on 5/24/2014
Our waiter told us that we could
only split it among 3 cards. Fine. Then he said that a cash tip would be appreciated because otherwise he won't get the money for 2 weeks. So completely classless. Food was good, but there's other good Chinese food in this city, and I was embarrassed to have brought my family there. "
Dined on 5/16/2014
Great noodles and twice fried fish
but the schezuan seasoning overwhelmed the food . Our fault we could have toned everything down"
Dined on 5/9/2014
Had a great time and really
enjoyed the food. It's was actually spicey as well which was nice. My friend and I got two entrées to share and we had so much food left over. I just wished they gave us more rice to go when they boxed our leftovers up. "
Dined on 5/11/2014
I've been eating at Han Dynasty
since before they opened in Philly and every location is a gem."
Dined on 2/2/2014
The staff was amazing! He took the
time to explain the menu and what the different items were. I wasn't too impressed with the food or the drinks but it wasn't horrible. "
Dined on 1/7/2014
I don't know if they're
overextending or what, but the quality of the food and service were both far below what I've come to expect from Han Dynasty. Maybe it was an off night, or maybe it was the move (this was my first time in the new space), but things were just off from the usual HD experience. Regardless, I'll stick to the University City location which has been consistently excellent for me."
Dined on 4/2/2014
I had been to their old location,
and really enjoyed the food. However, on a recent visit to their new digs, they had no high-chair available for my 18-month old (they only had boosters, which do not strap to the booth seats). Needless to say, we dined elsewhere. I was very disappointed as I had really been looking forward to their food. This location is just not kid friendly."
Dined on 4/26/2014
Server was very insistent to get
our order in and we felt rushed. Be aware that when you do order, they will bring it all out at once- in about 5 minutes! Even those at the tables near us were commenting on it. Know that the cold rabbit appetizer is chopped rabbit meat with the bones still in it- very difficult to eat. They had an decent beer selection. "
Dined on 4/26/2014
Food was incredibly excellent, as
always, and the spacious new location really improves the feel of this place. Our waiter asked for his tip in cash which I thought was super tacky. I've been a server and understand that cash tips are covetable, but I would never straight out ask for one from diners. Also the hockey game was playing pretty loudly- I know we are a sports town here in Philly but I think people come to Han Dynasty for a great meal- it's not a sports bar. All of that being said, this is the best Chinese food I've ever had in The USA. The best. I recommend the cumin chicken, the fish with black bean sauce, sautéed pea greens and of course the dan dan noodles. This is authentic Schezuan style Chinese food and it's amazing!"
Dined on 4/25/2014
If you don't like spicy be
careful! It was a fun atmosphere. They like to make their food hot on a rating system from 1-10!"
Dined on 4/17/2014
Fantastic food - spice level is
perfect for the dishes I had. Best to trust them on the spice level and not go overboard if you have any sensitivity to spice. They're not kidding that 10 is hot! Interesting menu with a variety of options. Plenty to choose from for vegans and vegetarians. Even the scallion pancakes are vegan. Highly recommend the Dan Dan Noodles - spice level was perfect for me but a bit too hot for my husband so if sharing perhaps consider a lower spice level to start unless everyone likes hot. Great cocktails, fun environment!"
Dined on 4/4/2014
I had heard a lot about Han
Dynasty, mostly that it was the best Chinese food in Philadelphia, and i was not disappointed. Waiter recommended the Dan Dan noodles and spicy cucumbers as the staples of the restaurant and I could clearly see why. The array of options and the 1-10 spice options made for some tough decisions, but we definitely made the right one going to Han Dynasty."
Dined on 4/4/2014
I love Han Dynasty. that's the
truth: it's one of my favorite places in Philly. Despite that, I feel like a broken record here in my reviews: the service is just bad.... I'm tired of giving examples: I've done so in previous reviews. Never got an answer from the restaurant even though I left them my email in the private review option. even when i complain at the restaurant, never it was resolved. but i keep coming back because i have nothing bad to say about the food. i wonder when this bad service will be the last straw..."

As my friend and i have our bi
monthly catch up sessions here, I can say that we can't get enough. Great food. Better service. Always a pleasure."
Dined on 3/29/2014
Always love going to Han Dynasty.
The food and overall place is wonderful."
Dined on 3/23/2014
Introduced two friends to Han
Dynasty on this visit, they couldn't stop raving about it! One person in the group was vegetarian, since the service is family style, we all went veggie for the meal and we all loved it. We were able to order a wide variety of spice levels and tastes. The new location in the old corn exchange building definitely ups the swank quotient. A great experience!"
Dined on 3/22/2014
OMG this is an amazing restaurant
with amazing staff , the food was well enough ,and the fish bowl is amazing also must go"
Dined on 3/22/2014
We came midday, and the restaurant
was NOT busy. We were seated, served tea, and introduced to the Han history. Perfect. Our waiter was nice...had our appetizer within 10 minutes. After 45 minutes, our waiter never came back, & A table seated 20 minutes after us requested their check (might I add their party was double the size of ours) my boyfriend had to find a different waiter. We were then informed our original waiter never submitted our dinner order. He rectified the problem for us, made friendly conversation, and even recommended different beers for us to try. He was awesome and is the SOLE reason this isn't a 1 star review...That along with the delicious food. Here's my advice. Go to the university city location. Much better service."
Dined on 3/22/2014
I go here every other Sunday with
my friend. We can't get enough. Delicious food. Amazing service."
Dined on 3/16/2014
Great atmosphere very airy with
space to enjoy and not feel crowded. Food was outstanding across the board, Waite staff friendly and pay attention to the details. All and all a great dining experience"
Dined on 3/14/2014
Great restaurant, tough
reservation. Fantastic service and food."
Dined on 2/22/2014
I loved the double cooked fish and
my friend got the dry pot style beef. Which was really good, but the server didn't explain the spicy rate system. Our food was way too spicy. The water server refilled out glasses at least 4 times."
