  • "The food was fantastic! My husband and I went there for my birthday. I wanted a delicious, romantic date and that is just what we got. I would recommend this in a heartbeat. We started out with a cocktail, a beer for him and a pomegranate martini for me (delicious), hubby had a steak I had tilefish with an amazing sauce which I could have drank through a straw (bothe delicious). We had desert sampler platter. We would probably get one big thing instead of the sampler. I will say the pecan pie was awesome. Service (although the wait staff need not fill my water glass so much) and ambiance was perfect too. An A+++++"

That said, if Hamptons were in a large city with competition all around, the food and service would still make it stand out as an excellent dining experience. We drive 45 minutes to have dinner at Hamptons - and it is well worth the trip."

An astonishing apple/cranberry pie to finish the meal. The maitre de turned us on to Roar pinot noir and it was excellent. Highly recommended a visit. Worth a trip from Hartsville an hour away."

  • "My husband and I went Feb 15 for Valentine's dinner. We had the tuna tartare which was excellent, every bit was a burst of flavor. I had the tilefish on top of lemon grits with mushrooms and I didn't think the flavor profile would worked but it was executed beautifully. My husband had the ribeye that was cooked to perfection. I think the quality of food you are getting is well worth it. The service was excellent and I just fell in love with this place. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone."

  • "We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we each chose different salads and entrees and desserts so we could sample from each others plates. Both salads were wonderful. The tenderloin won out over the duck. All the cooked veggies and rice and potatoes were nice complements either way on both plates. The sauces were tasty as always. For dessert the chocolate soufflé won out over the coconut layer cake. It was a nice pudding like consistency and warm and not too heavy. In the end it was all good and way better than a chain restaurant could dream of creating."

  • "This was our first time to the restaurant. We arrived early, so we took a seat at the bar before our reservation. The bartender was quick to take our order and was extremely friendly. When we were seated, the table and surrounding area was very clean and inviting. The staff takes great care to ensure your water is always refilled and your plates are quickly cleared away. Last, but certainly not least, the food was amazing. The menu is limited, which I believe allows the Chef to focus on making every meal exquisite. I ordered the beef tenderloin and it was perfectly cooked. The portion was great and did not over fill. My wife had a spinach ravioli dish which was also perfect. We will definitely return with friends and family."

  • "Hamptons made it a night to remember for sure!!! They personalized the menu for us, wishing us a happy anniversary, and the owner even came to congratulate us on 5 years. First for dinner, the chef sent us a complimentary starter of oysters, which were wonderful; we also had soup & salads to start that were great. Our main course was Butter squash ravioli for my wife which was fantastic, and I had the Grilled Beef Tenderloin that was so tender you could cut it with a fork. After a wonderful dinner, we finished the evening with Creme Brûlée and Sticky Bun with Homemade Butter Pecan Ice Cream; it was WONDERFUL!!! Hamptons is a fantastic asset to Sumter and the downtown location is very nice! I would highly recommend this amazing restaurant!!"

  • "I actually ate at Hampton's three consecutive nights because the dining experience was that good. I had pasta as an appetizer, main course or side dish each night because it was that good. This is coming from someone with an Italian immigrant grandmother; my reviews of other's stuffed pasta's is usually brutal. For a small town, the menu was amazingly exotic, with venison and duck on the menu. Courses contained numerous ingredients that complemented each other both in taste and texture. There were numerous wines by the glass to pair with each course. I would put the dining experience on par with Sean Brock's Husk in Nashville, Canoe in Atlanta and Daniel Lindley's St. John's in Chattanooga."

I had the snapper with lemon grits and my wife had the lamb and we both thought they were the best dishes we have had in years. The wine list even has good offerings at reasonable prices. There is a real chef in the kitchen and I can not wait to go back!"
