Hampton Street VineyardA great findHampton Street Vineyard is one of the best fine dining establishments in Columbia. Menu is unique and varied and the wine list is superb.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMNot Quite Up to Snuff.I was excited to try this restaurant, but all in all I wasn’t that impressed. While the food was good, it wasn’t great, and for not being particularly crowded it was very loud, which detracted from the evening. I thought the menu was rather limited (my fault cause they have a good web site). The Duck was highly recommended, but while it was prepared well, the citrus style of the honey lemon sauce just was a bit overpowering. My Wife’s Beef Short Ribs was really good, although I didn’t particularly like the green beans that came with it - to tough for my taste. The Caesar salad was above average and really enjoyed it. Overall I have to say it was just an okay meal for the money and not a restaurant we’ll be likely to return to anytime soon.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Find! This place was awesome. To start, it's right in a great, quiet but scenic area of downtown. Right across the street from the Mariott, 1 block from the Sheraton. The wine list and liquor list was awesome and robust. My wife had the Salmon on a Shrimp risotto and wow it was amazing. I had the braise short ribs and I don't know if I have ever had a softer meat. The entire meal was fantastics topped off with a chocolate mousse.
I am a frequent Open Table person across the country and this was one of the top places I have eaten at with my wife.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGot to try!1st time going to this place. Loved the food. And awesome wait staff.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways excellentOne of our favorite restaurants. We are from Charleston -- known for its stellar cuisine -- Hampton Street Vineyard is more than a worthy contender.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThanks for a great time! This is a great choice if you are visiting Columbia or a local. We were greeted promptly, our reservation was in order and we were seated right away. The service was very nice, professional and competent. The food was exceptional, delicious bread and salad very fresh. (I am very picky about lettuce and fresh salads). I had a filet cooked exactly as ordered served with mashed potatoes and very good haricot verts. I regret that we did not have desert. I think you will be very happy if you choose Hampton Vineyard.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA Columbia Favorite! This is one of our favorite restaurants. Food and service is consistently excellent. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Very reasonably priced in both food and wine. Highly recommended.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to Hampton StreetI have been to Hampton Street Vineyard for lunch many times. Each time is as good as the last! Food is delicious - staff is very attentive.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMwyofoodieFood was generally very good, but my mashed sweet potatos were much too sweet due to added sweetness and my wife's white beans accompianment was way too salty. Let the food speak for itself.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food, not pressuredgreat food, not pressured to hurry through the meal.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant was a greatThis restaurant was a great find in an unfamiliar city. Recommended by our B & B and it was fantastic in all respects.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Great MealDinner on March 25 with three work colleagues. A wonderful meal -- everyone had something different, ordered appetizers and dessert... Based on our experience, I don't think there's anything on the menu that isn't terrific. Our waiter was delightful. Thank you!3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time andThis was our first time and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the experience. Food and service were top notch. Great choice for intown dining.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMBest food I had in Columbia,Best food I had in Columbia, after other disappointments during 4-day visit. Service, waitstaff excellent. Great wine list, lots of variety. I had a well prepared, tasty veal chop, with a nicely flavored but overly sweet root veg-polenta side dish. Lightly grilled oysters served warm were good with lemon; forget the thousand island dressing. Pleasant room, not too noisy. General impression: healthier, lighter but nonetheless adventurous cooking hasn't penetrated this part of the world quite yet.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreatLocal RestaurantOur dinner was very good - again - Hampton Street Vineyard is a local gem. It is loud so I didn't indicate it is for special occasions however the food is unique and very good. Would recommend and they have lovely outdoor dining when the weather cooperates.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly recommend! We ateHighly recommend! We ate at the bar, which is always fun. Michelle is a great bartender and always ensures everyone at the bar has a great time. The salmon dish is very delicious - but of course, that's no surprise. Everything I've ever ordered has been delicious. Best wine list in town.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first visit. IThis was my first visit.
