Our server was friendly and helpful - she went the extra mile and found a birthday candle to put in the dessert, a really nice touch. I had the mushroom ragout with gnocci and it was delicious - the texture of the gnocci was perfect. My partner had the salmon and it was cooked nicely and served atop a corn & scallion risotto. The patio was warm and comfortable, even in early June. I will definitely be back!6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this place! It's my #1We went here for a 5pm dinner after my Niece's grad ceremony. We sat out on the patio, which was great. Our waiter, who I have had before, wore bright blue turquoise pants! Last time he had bright red pants on. None the less, he stands out in those pants as well as the quality of service he provides.
The portions are4 huge, so we split the salads. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the mixed grill which I liked, with one exception. The filet had Bearnaise sauce on it. Although it was good, it's not something that I would have chosen, and it was not written that way on the menu. The steak sandwiches, yum!
Dessert was as always the gingerbread pudding. My tuna appetizer was worth another trip and I will definitely order it again. My dining partner ordered a special vegetarian risotto with her halibut and was very happy with her choice too. Just a note – they have specials for lunch during the week that are fabulous and a good deal. The portions were ample and the food very tasty. Two of us had the stuffed chicken breast with garlic mashed potatoes. My chicken was nicely done, but I couldn't really taste the apricot stuffing. The mashed potatoes were so creamy that you could have eaten them with a spoon. The third of our group had the burger -- enjoyed it very much. The best part of the meal though, was the service. My only regret is that I didn't get our servers name. I had the Halibut. It was cooked medium the way I enjoy fish. We are from out of town and met another couple who was great company. They gave us some great tips for things to do in Vancouver. There was a $4 beer special which was for a local micro's summer product. Good beer.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I went forMy husband and I went for an early dinner before going to the hockey game. We were celebrating a combination birthday and anniversary. It was nice that we were able to have a table by the window and the restaurant was quiet when we first arrived so we were able to have a nice romantic dinner. We used an Entertainment coupon and the waiter accepted it with no problem. We both had the stuffed chicken and found it to be very nicely presented as well as good quality.
