As we expected, the restaurant was very busy considering the volume of people in town for the event. This did not, however, impair the service that we experienced. I would even say that the service is of the best I've experienced in Charleston- very attentive, very gracious.
Our server gave us LOTS of information about the different cuts of meat, which we thought was a little too much, but it showed that they took great pride in their selections.

The petite filet mignon- My daughter (the one graduating) found it to be perfect. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was fantastic. My trip was planned three months in advance and the only times available for reservation was for an early dinner (which ultimately worked out perfectly for us). The service was incredible, the ambiance was divine and as a self-proclaimed foodie the food was absolutely to die for. Being a graduate student, it took me quite a few weeks to earn enough to pay for a dinner this extravagant but I would do it again and again for the amazing experience we had there. Even my fiance gushed over his steak, proclaiming it the best steak he had ever had. When my wife got the gina and tonic drink, the glass had to scratches that would have cut her lip. The waiter apologized and came back with a new glass. Starting with the personal greeting from the owner on arrival, checks on our experience during the meal and then a personal goodbye on our departure. The food just could not have been better. We both had steak. I had the dry aged NY strip and my wife the bone-in fillet . To our taste the steaks were prepared a little heavy handed with the salt, but none the less wonderful. My wife said it was the best steak she had ever had. At $62 for a fillet it had a lot to live up to and she said it did. Be prepared for a high volume level if the restaurant is full. We arrived about 45 minutes before our reservation but were offered a table right away. We decided to stay downstairs at the bar for a couple drinks before going upstairs to our table. Jason, our server, was excellent. The menu and wine list are fabulous. The dry-aged beef is amazing - only place in Charleston to get it that we know of. I do recommend sitting upstairs to dine. Downstairs is fun for cocktails but I definitely suggest getting a table upstairs to eat, especially if you want a quieter and/or more romantic atmosphere.
