  • "I have been to Hall Street many times, but never written a review before-so thought I should. Dinner is always top notch, good drinks with fresh lemon juice in the lemondrop. Local fresh ingredients in all the menu items. Definitely the best in this part of town. Brunch is also a winner. The outside is in the middle of strip malls, but once inside they have done a good job of making a relaxing fresh ambience that makes you forget the giant parking lot outside. Service is always professional and timely."

I had a special offering of sturgeon with asparagus and fiddlehead ferns, that would be two ferns and five asparagus stems, no tips, with a small serving of sturgeon. Other diners with me at dinner had similar small portions of a seasonal ravioli without much representation of vegetables listed as part of the entree. Service was not particularly attentive with a server giving more attention to larger parties. Overpriced for the meal, service and ambiance. We are unlikely to return."

We did notice, however, that our portions were bigger this time around, even though I ordered exactly the same meal - right down to the same hazelnut brown butter cake for dessert and the exact same blue cheese salad. Last time, we had the Living Social special. I'm disappointed to see that Hall Street decreased portions for that offer. It seems deceptive and I expected better from this restaurant. I would not have known if I hadn't returned for exactly the same meal at regular price on Saturday evening. That bothers me. Please bring back the Calamari and Friends appetizer. We wanted to order it on Saturday and were told it was no longer available. Habanero Pineapple Margarita was excellent!"

  • "My wife and I wanted a nice romantic dinner Valentine's Day. I made the reservations a couple of weeks before. They called 2 days before Valentines just to confirm the reservation and to say they looked forward to helping us make this a memorable night. They did not disappoint. Our server was very friendly, as was all they staff, and very helpful in suggesting wines that would compliment the food. My wife and I are not wine drinkers so were lost on this, which made the suggestions even more helpful and appreciated. The food was fantastic surrounded by a very pleasant atmosphere. Can't wait until next Valentines to do it again."

  • "The food was creative and delicious. Presentation was lovely. My only complaint on the food is that the NY Strip Steak from the pre fixe menu came sliced. You should NEVER pre-cut a steak. I think they might do this to make the portion look larger, but it doesn't stay warm and dries out a bit. The portion was plenty so it wasn't necessary. On the service, our server had a very warm and friendly personality and was very knowledgeable about the menu; however, our cocktails didn't arrive until well after we finished our appetizer. We should have rec'd them first - don't know if it was his fault or the bar's fault but should be more careful to check on it."

In all the food was average, but we expected higher quality for the prices. Appetizer, crab dip, was the best. Server was great. Wine choices were good."

  • "My husband and I, for the most part, enjoyed our meal. The restaurant was decorated for celebrating the new year and was very festive. The wait staff was attentive and was helpful in recommending the specials. We tried the special appetizer of lobster salad on crostini and was not impressed, but the main course of steelhead with roasted root vegetables was fantastic. The restaurant can get quite noisy when busy, but we ate early and enjoyed the relaxed, quiet atmosphere. Hall Street is one of our favorite places for any special occasion."
