The food was also absolutely awesome. We started with the lobster mac and cheese, baked clams, oysters, tuna tartar, duck tacos and calamari (we were a big group) and they were all wonderful starters. My husband and brother both ordered the seared ahi tuna which came with edamame dumplings and some veggies- it looked healthy and good! Then- my sister and I both ordered a 2 pound lobster- I had the biggest claw I had EVER seen in my life. and it was great! The peach and blueberry cobbler, chocolate volcano and rissoto pudding were the desserts which we all enjoyed. A party was ending and the host seemed a little out of sync. However, she was very gracious and accommodating! Our original reservation was for ten, but I received a call that another couple would be joining us, our server (Sergio) explained that might be a problem, however he was very obliging, and made an adjustment that was worked for everyone. Serving a large group is always a challenge; the wait staff handled our many request very professionally and patiently. Additionally, our guests were very pleased with Half Moon, and we agreed that we would meet there whenever we return to New York. The fire place to the outdoor patio where you can enjoy your meal, and partner, while overlooking the Hudson valley and NYC skyline. They were nice enough to get us a table next to the window inside when we asked; our only complaint was that the window was a little fuzzy/hazy-could be cleaned more often (I'm sure its difficult right next to the waves and water); interfered with the view a little.
Great food and drinks and ambience, though. Love this place. Great duck tacos and ceviche, lots of great seafood.

The flavor was good - but it was also slightly dry. The best dish was the whole red snapper cooked with tomatoes, red peppers, etc. The flavor was great, the fish was tender
and the veggies were tasteful. The view is INCREDIBLE! and the bonfire pits outside is definitely very unique.

Half Moon is a hop, skip,and jump away! Seven stops from Harlem 125th street on the Metro North to Dobbs Ferry, and when you arrive the restaurant is right there, like a five minute walk! The restaurant is large and very well designed. They sat us at a cozy corner table, over looking the Hudson.The service was good, My lunch was delicious and the wine was nicely priced by the glass. There is a great outside dining when weather permits, and seats to sit and sip cool drinks. By the way, the music was really great! No Hip Hop stuff. Music I love and remember. All of the appetizers were excellent (though a bit pricey). The specials for this evening included well-prepared Caesar salads and a spicy tuna tartar; most of the party ordered the fresh salmon with a spinach/corn/beet vinaigrette base which was actually quite tasty. Desserts--included in the special--were classically small but powerfully flavorful. The crowded restaurant kept our server very busy and, understandably, made it difficult to get his attention.
