  • The HMB Brewco is always fabulous.

    The HMB Brewco is always fabulous. Their food has become quite good, and is always very interesting. Local and organic ingredients make the meals special and more meaningful. The beer is FANTASTIC. Had the double-something beer the other day and it was really wonderful. Always interesting choices on the beer menu, and a hopping music scene. A must do for everyone.

    HMB Brewing Co. was great! Excellent food for a pub style restaurant. Great atmosphere and great service round out the very pleasant experience. Love the menu selection - good combination of "standard" pub fare but complemented well by California and seafood selections.

  • Been to Brew Co a few times,
    OpenTable Diner Since 2003VIP

    Been to Brew Co a few times, food has become more lackluster while getting more expensive at the same times. Great place to hang out with a group for some beers, not so great for getting an early dinner with the family. We had a reservation that we were early for but checked in anyhow. We were passed up by walk-ins when we checked in -- when asked why, we were told that because we had a reservation, we had to wait. Its a brewing company, so expectations are not high -- but this experence didn't even meet expectations.

  • We annually go to Half Moon

    We annually go to Half Moon Bay for some pumpkin fun. Every year we return to HMB Brewery and are never dissapointed. This year's experience was fantastic for me and my two young boyz. The setting is picturesque with the marina across the street and the sea aroma. After a full early evening checking out tidepools, they seated us right away. Boyz loved sitting by the big aquarium. Our waiter was perfect all evening. We shared a big bowl of clam chowder to start. I had a fat juicy burger while J & L ate well off the kids menu. We had our desserts outside by the fire. This place is great. Thank you....

  • What a terrific surprise;

    What a terrific surprise; A brew pub that has unusually good food. Scallop salad was wonderful, and it was terrific to have live music in the next room (the bar). The service was esepcially good: My spouse had to take a phone call outside, and the server, seeing he was gone, came to ask if all was "okay"...even offerred to hold food in the kitchen til later. very kind. We will definitely visit again

    To be able to make reservations via the Internet was very convenient. We live in Campbell and were picking up elderly people in Burlingame, so it was nice to be able to have a tabel reserved. We may not have gone to HMB otherwise.

  • Great bands on Sunday afternoon.
    OpenTable Diner Since 2006

    Great bands on Sunday afternoon. Friendly people. Dancing. The waitress is improving over past times I've been there, but she still forgets parts of your meal. She does smile and is pleasant. It should be noted on your website somewhere that they do not accept reservations for outside tables, which is what I requested. We had to wait about 20 minutes for one to free up, no big problem as the bar was open and there were benches free for the sitting. But I've been there often enough when it was far more crowded.

    Outdoor dining would have been great on this warm evening but is not available on reservations. Arriving early we waited in the bar for 20 minutes but were never approached to order drinks. There are two main dining rooms inside; the one where we were seated (sans children) seemed to be the nursery, screaming babies and toddlers at nearly every table. The other room seemed to be reserved for adults. Our waitress was attentive and checked on us regularly; she apologized for slow entrees but we were not in a hurry. Beer battered artichoke was a tasty start. Sesame halibut was cooked right and came with 2 good sauces, wasabe & soy based. Fish & chips (mahi-mahi) shared the same light batter as the artichokes. Bread pudding was ok, not great.

  • key lime pie - nasty - whipped

    key lime pie - nasty - whipped cream on crust was frozen and it looked and tasted like lemon meringue pie - did NOT get it taken off the bill after complaining - since it was Fathers Day their ads stated: ALL Fathers will receive a "growler" - that is a special beer container with their logo on it. Came to find out - you had to order an entree from the FATHER"S DAY specials to get it - that was not cool.

    We went for lunch. It was great to sit outside. They have a nice sheltered patio with a great view and ambiance. The service was quite slow. A lot of people wotking but everyone off in their own little world The appetizers were ok but as far as calamari being their signature item, it shouldn't be. Artickokes were interesting in a good way. If you are a fish taco lover like me, please don't order them here. They were bland, bland, bland. Good fish was used, but even the condiments it was served with and salt didn't help. The chowder was good and beer selection great. Overall, we will try somewhere else next time.

    what would help a LOT is for you to note on opentable that they do not take reservations for their patio (the principal attraction on a sunny day). we arrived in time for our 'reservation' and faced a 40 minute wait for a table.

    Service was probably the best thing about here. While the hosts were rude, curt, and unfriendly, our server was friendly and service was timely. Food was average and was below expectations, beers were tasty. Inside dining was quiet, outside area seemed disorganized. Won't be back anytime soon.
