The food and service are above average but alas also is the noise level. Recommend the cone of french fries to share with the table when having drinks. The halibut served on a bed of crunchy sliced vegetables was excellent and accompanied by a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand made a tasty And satisfying entrée

Very relaxing. Its one of my favorite places!
They were nice enough to get us a table next to the window inside when we asked; our only complaint was that the window was a little fuzzy/hazy-could be cleaned more often (I'm sure its difficult right next to the waves and water); interfered with the view a little.
Great food and drinks and ambience, though. Love this place. Great duck tacos and ceviche, lots of great seafood.

The food was great - we had the fried calimari (light, crispy and flavorful), the St. Louis ribs (smoky and tender), the french toast with fruit compote and the incomparable eggs benedict. All delicious. We also had the chocolate volcano cake and dulce de leche creme caramel - very good and customized with a birthday message which we didn't even have to ask for. I ordered the seafood plancha - it was good, not excellent. My husband had the duck.
The flavor was good - but it was also slightly dry. The best dish was the whole red snapper cooked with tomatoes, red peppers, etc. The flavor was great, the fish was tender
and the veggies were tasteful. The view is INCREDIBLE! and the bonfire pits outside is definitely very unique.

Half Moon is a hop, skip,and jump away! Seven stops from Harlem 125th street on the Metro North to Dobbs Ferry, and when you arrive the restaurant is right there, like a five minute walk! The restaurant is large and very well designed. They sat us at a cozy corner table, over looking the Hudson.The service was good, My lunch was delicious and the wine was nicely priced by the glass. There is a great outside dining when weather permits, and seats to sit and sip cool drinks. By the way, the music was really great! No Hip Hop stuff. Music I love and remember. We had 2 waiters along with their support crew of 2-3 who made sure we had what we wanted and that everything was good. Since we are not big meat eaters (they had a very good selection of steaks) we decided to share 4 appetizers and a salad as our dinner (there were 2 of us) as opposed to ordering entrees. All of the appetizers were excellent (though a bit pricey). This strategy left room for us to enjoy their special ice cream cake dessert which was fantastic (4 scoops of ice cream, fresh fruits and a nice wafer on top and bottom). Winter/late spring evenings is not the best time to go if you want to enjoy the beautiful views of the Hudson River, but anytime is great to savor a wonderful dining experience. The specials for this evening included well-prepared Caesar salads and a spicy tuna tartar; most of the party ordered the fresh salmon with a spinach/corn/beet vinaigrette base which was actually quite tasty. Desserts--included in the special--were classically small but powerfully flavorful. The crowded restaurant kept our server very busy and, understandably, made it difficult to get his attention. The staff was very pleasant, helpful and attentive to our needs, without having to be asked.
We went during HV Restaurant Week, and were a little surprised , but very pleased with the selections offered.

The food was delicious- there were so many different items on the menu to choose from. My son had a delicious burger while the rest of us had breakfast food. The portions were plentiful and the price was so reasonable. The atmosphere was beautiful with so many tables that over looked the water. We can't wait to go back! It's a great restaurant for a special occasion or just for a regular Sunday Brunch. My boyfriend and I went for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week and it was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was packed but our food still came out quickly and we had excellent service. The wait staff are attentive and friendly. The manager even came around to our table as soon as we got our entrees. I would definitely recommend Half Moon when the weather is nice. It is right on the Hudson River, has views of NYC, and has a great dining and bar area outside. Most of the tables overlook the river making for a very romantic meal.
