"We took friends to brunch to celebrate a variety of things. They are artists with a great sense of aesthetics. We all found the space gorgeous and matched by wonderful food. I had grits, my husband had the most amazing duck confit and dried cherry quiche one could imagine, one guest had the omelette and the other had another grit combo. We all loved every single thing we ate. The only complaint is that my bloody mary, which had a lovely smokey flavor, cost more than an entree! My husband found the service too intrusive; we would be engaged in conversation and the server kept coming up and interrupting (I did not share his annoyance). I cannot wait to go back again. I am thrilled that Charlotte has embraced farm to table cuisine."

"I have had dinner here several times and I have never been disappointed. I tried brunch on Sunday and just loved everything. The grits were wonderful and you had multiple choices of what to include in the grits. My friend had an outstanding soft shell crab omelet and she loved every bite. This place is one of my favorite spots in Charlotte."

"Halcyon was amazing! Although it's pricey, it was incredible! The cheeseburger with homemade ketchup was out of this world. People in my party had meatloaf and eggs/grits, which were so creamy and delightful. I would definitely go back. Seating is limited and I don't know how they would be on a busy night. Great service and some of the freshest food I've ever had."

"I really enjoyed this restaurant. I had a bit of a mixed experience with the food. My Sweet Potato Hash cake was pretty burned on the bottom and came with a small bit of metal in it. Yikes. I alerted the waiter who talked to the Manager who did not charge me for the cake. Good result from what could have been a bad situation."

"The service and the staff were wonderful. The food overall was very bland and needed more seasoning. I ordered the special of the evening, a striped bass served with spinach, fingerling potatoes, turnips, and shrimp. The only part of the dish that had any notable flavor was the spinach which was cooked with some garlic. I sent the entree back, I couldn't justify the eating a dish I didn't enjoy at the price I was paying for it. My second choice was the pork chop served with a bread pudding, brussel sprouts, and little bits of smoked bacon. Again, the dish lacked flavor and seasoning. I was very unimpressed by the food, especially for the expensive nature of the menu. I do not think I will be returning to this restaurant."

"The most amazing place to eat in Charlotte. We have decided that we will no longer try new places in Charlotte, but we will just eat at Halcyon when we visit Charlotte. The menu is so different than anywhere else we have ever been and the food has always been unbelievable.
We have enjoyed the services of Adam every time we went and his knowledge of the menu has been fantastic. Awesome service and I cant even begin to find the least little thing to complain about. Keep up the good work!"

"On the recommendation of a friend, my date and I went to Halcyon when visiting Charlotte. The food was outstanding, the wine was even better, and the service was the best of all. It was a truly fabulous dining experience. I highly recommend Halcyon and give it the highest rating possible."

"This was my third visit. Each time I leave feeling a bit underwhelmed. The menu sounds fabulous but it is not an accurate depiction of the item served. For example, there was a billing for an appetizer that focused on 'turnips' and 'salad'. It turned out to be some beautifully fried oysters on a bed of a few bits of turnips, beets, etc; quite disappointing when you feel you have ordered a salad full of yummy root vegetable-only a hint."
