Diner Reviews
  • "Everybody was happy! All of the food tasty and attractively presented. Pork dumplings a hit! Ahi tuna salad a hit! Lettuce wraps a hit! Curry a hit! Calamari was average (according to the person who ordered it). Service good and restaurant still beautiful. New patio furniture will be great for outdoor luncheons. "

  • "Food looked appetizing and portions were large, but the taste was off. The Lo Mein was plain, honey chicken was plated on a bed of peanut sauce?? Do not recommend at this time."

  • "THIS FINE PLACE TO DINE. I FOUND THE FOOD TO BE AVERAGE AND NOT WORTH THE EXTRA COST. THE SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD AND VERY ATTENTIVE."

  • "The menu and price point are similar to a PF Changs. I thought the food was mediocre, not as good as restaurants that are less expensive and not as good as PF Changs."

  • "On a whim my wife and I chose to try Hakka Chow on a Saturday evening out without the kids. The experience was excellent. The menu was quite varied but I settled on the India Shrimp. It was spectacular. I could taste and quite enjoyed the many spices and subtle flavors of the dish. The shrimp were plentiful and of high quality. I chose the Jasmine rice and found it to be prepared perfectly for use with this dish. Our server was attentive - almost bordering on overly attentive but I'll give her a break on that as we told her it was our first visit. I would say without reservation that this restaurant is as good as PF Chang (or better) without having to drive to Greensboro and wait for two hours for a table. Give them a shot!"

  • "Tonight we tried out Hakka Chow for the first time, and were fairly disappointed. The food was uneven--very good Mongolian Beef and an undercooked eggplant dish. Our waiter was very nice, and he tried to get us a side of rice noodles, but was told no substitutions or add-ons. The kitchen seems unable to take any special order requests, despite a request from our waiter. Red flag! The top shelf gin and tonic ordered had no taste of Tanqueray, despite the $10 price tag. No offer to replace it either. The manager this Friday night seemed socially inept. He didn't greet anyone , and the whole time we were there didn't ask any guests about their dining experience, nor make eye contact with customers. Overall a let down."

  • "It was a real pleasure to enjoy an affordable lunch that was so satisfying and had such enjoyable surroundings."

  • "Even though there was a little red pepper next to our entree on the menu, we were surprised how hot it was - almost too hot! Otherwise the food and service were very good."

  • "Great food, decent prices, many menu choices. The Kimchee soup is awesome. We will be back. If anything the waiter was too attentive."

  • "Winston-Salem is fortunate to have a new upscale and delicious dining option. This is a keeper. I encourage you to give it a try. You won't be disappointed with the menu, surroundings, or the service."

  • "I have been to this new restaurant 2 different times (open 2 weeks), and both times the food was very good, but the service was spotty, at best."

  • "The food was okay (not exceptional). The service was horrible. Atmosphere is really good and kid friendly. The dessert was good!!"

  • "I predict that this will be the best Asian Eatery in the Triad. Excellent selection of food across the spectrum with Thai, Malaysian and Indian mix. The Malaysian Chicken was as authentic as anything I had in Malaysia, will go back for this dish alone. The starter dumplings were great as was the Eggplant entree. The service was enthusiastic with the delivery timing a little off given that this is their first week of operation. The wine and beer list was excellent and the boutique beer draft prices very good at around $3.50 each. The ambiance was upscale but the prices were reasonable across the board."

  • "The restaurant is beautiful, unfortunately the food was just ok and our server was absolutely horrible. If you asked for something, you could bet that he would either bring it to the wrong table, or bring the wrong item. Multiple times he forgot sweet tea vs unsweetened and had to bring another pitcher or glass. (He only had 2 tables, they were not busy) Food was slow in preparation and while the presentation on the plate was beautiful... The flavors just weren't hitting it. Spring Rolls were good, the General Tso's chicken and Orange Chicken were lacking in flavor and rather boring. There are other nice Asian Fusion restaurants in town that are better priced and much tastier food. We likely will not return."
