Diner Reviews
  • "This was my first time dining at Haiku steakhouse. The Chef: Richard was awesome, he was both entertaining and knowledgeable as to the different ways to prepare meet and has his own specialty (Hawaiian Kobe Steak). I was impressed by the variety of sushi rolls they offered. I will definitely be returning."

  • "If you are lucky enough to get Chef Richard it is a very fun experience. Food is fairly high quality. My only issue was I had reservation and had to wait 20 minutes for a table."

  • "The food was amazing. Richard was very entertaining. Our server kept forgetting to bring key items to our table, such as drinks and steamed rice, on several occasions. He even asked if he should bring out my appetizer after I had already started on my entrée. That atmosphere was great. Wasn't too busy. The bartender was very nice"

  • "We stumbled upon Haiku and have not been disappointed. Their sushi prices are reasonable in addition to the hibachi dinners. Good quality is very good. Recommend for a Japanese restaurant."

  • "Did not have an adequate wait staff, short handed. There alcohol is to overpriced. It looked like a new restaurant. They need to hire more staff."

  • "Even though it was very busy since it was Valentine's Day, we were greeted promptly, seated right away, and even presented with a rose for the occasion! Our Hibachi Chef was personable and the food was great. Service was also good in spite of the busy night. Great value for the $."

  • "Haiku was fantastic! Although they were busy on Valentine's eve, we were seated quickly and waited on in a timely manner. The food was excellent and our chef (I believe his name was John) was incredibly funny and personable! I'm so glad that I can say my Valentine's dinner was memorable and I will definitely come back to this restaurant for other special occasions!"

  • "No other parties there when we arrived. Another party came in later. My nieces Iced tea was cold water and sugar. Sushi was tasteless and did not seem fresh. our hibachi dinner was not something I would want to repeat. My husband and I had to ask for the sauces. Soup was cold. Mediocre green tea. Shrimp was not fresh and vegetables were off in taste. Rice was ok but you can't go wrong with rice.... I guess.... Would not do eat here again. I remember now that we must have eaten here years ago. I will remember not to do so again next time."

  • "When you are going to a Japanese Steakhouse, you are not only expecting the good food, but the entire experience about your cook and the plays, attitude, fun. Specially when it is your becoming teenager's birthday!!! Well, our cook was a robot. No smiles, no jokes, no tricks. NOT AT ALL!!!!! Very disappointed ….. The restaurant is cheap, but the food has nothing special either. First and last time they saw us…..."

  • "I would highly recommend Haiku. We go there frequently for the sushi, which is top notch. Always very fresh and they have a variety of choices from traditional to their own exotic combinations. The sushi menu changes seasonly so there's always something new. The staff is very friendly and accommodating."

  • "First, I need to say I went on New Years Eve, so it is possible that this is not a normal experience. However, when I go to a Japanese Steak house and sit with a group at the Habachi, I expect some "entertainment". The rice came to the table fully prepared. No egg trick. No volcano. The chef hurried through cooking our meal. Hardly a word. The food was good, a little bland but good nonetheless. I did ask one of the other people at the table if this was the norm, as if it is I would rather find another Japanese steak house to dine at in the future. The other diners didn't know, but agreed with me that there are certainly more enjoyable restaurants."

  • "The staff was not very engaged in the service, especially the chef, who is part of the ambiance and festivity while dining. Additionally, the food was not seasoned well. Overall, it was a disappointing and expensive experience."

  • "On Christmas Day I took my wife there for here birthday dinner. The food was awesome...we chose sushi. There was only one server that had the dining tables section. At one point I counted 30 customers 9 tables total. and only one server. I also called ahead and notified them that it was my wife's birthday , and they mentioned that they will do something special for her...absolutely nothing happened. I will not be coming back to this restaurant."

  • "We went to Haiku on Christmas Eve. We were hoping to use our Double Take Deals voucher ($40 of food for $20), but they said we weren't allowed to use it. No place on the voucher does it exclude holidays, which is why I bought it and chose Haiku. We had a table of 12, some ordered sushi, some ordered hibachi, and some ordered items from the kitchen. When ever someone brought food, they had no idea where it went. We were told we had to pay $5 extra to share hibachi even though we also ordered a lot of sushi. The sushi was very good, but the service really was disappointing. We will only return to use our double take deal on sushi and then won't return."

  • "the restaurant is split into 2 sides: regular seating and hibachi seating. we went during restaurant week and had appetizers, dumplings and crab salad, both delicious! had chicken, shrimp, & beef from the hibachi. Very good, nothing better than any other hibachi I've been to, just the usual. Fried rice, could be better, but not disappointing. Desserts: the chocolate cake is very rich and made for chocolate lovers. the cheese cake was very good, no complaints. The restaurant had quiet a bit of clientele, but on the hibachi side the mood seemed to vary from table to table. Half of our table was very sullen which contributed to a less "fun" crowd. The cook was very pleasant but did not interact as much as other hibachi cooks."

  • "I have been craving Hibachi and we found a ScoutMob for this location. Everything was awesome! We really enjoyed that, unlike most Japanese Steakhouses, Haiku did not drown their food in the sauces used to cook...we could actually taste the flavor of the food. We will be back, even without a coupon."

  • "We went out Friday, 9/27 for my husband's birthday. He favors hibachi restaurants for birthday celebrations and this has by far been the best. The portion sizes were huge and the service was great! Our chef went above and beyond to make it fun for the kids at the table and to celebrate the two birthdays in our section. This was a thirty minute drive for us, but we will definitely be returning when we're in the mood for a great Japanese Hibachi dining experience."
