Our ever-changing, always-growing wine list features special wines that mostly come from our local Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez and Santa Maria Valley wine country but also features French, Italian and Spanish varietals.

Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will guide you through the menu featuring our farm-to-table selections and nightly specials to help you choose the perfect meal. Your server will then help you choose the perfect wine to pair with your menu selection.

  • "My husband and I made reservations here for our anniversary and were not disappointed! We loved how romantic it was and how the Resturant was styled. The food was great!!! My husband got the ceased salad and chicken Alfredo. I got the lobster buisque and chicken marsela. The dishes were great but chicken was over cooked... Over all we lived it and we go back!!"

  • "Went to the Hadsten house for dinner. Made a reservation, it didnt appear that we needed one at first, but it did eventually get busy. The food was very good, prices were on the high side, but they can because they are not overpriced sub-par food. This is moderatly priced great food. I got the seared scallops, and they were hands down the best I have ever had. The wife got fish and chips, which were well above average. Very nice place, but you could go there in shorts if you wanted to. Kid friendly, good parking, good service, and you can walk off your dinner right down old town mission street."

  • "This was my second visit to the Hadsten House Dining Room (the first was as part of a large party arranged by someone else). I elected to arrange a dinner for 4 (pre-theater at Solvang Festival Theater) and it was very successful. This restaurant is a very pleasant surprise for a "motel" restaurant. I recommend it without reservation."

Also, a radio station (?) with some conversation interspersed with music seemed a little odd in a restaurant of this caliber. That said, would certainly return."

  • "We went to Hadsten House for our anniversary this weekend with another couple and everything we ordered was excellent. We had ribeye steak with a wine reduction sauce (really good!) garlic mashed potatoes, four large scallops with risotto, seafood pasta, lobster bisque with a crusty pastry topping (the best we've had), wedge salad with quail eggs, and the soup of the day (cream of spinach). The service was great and the decor is a modernized European motif. We saw some of the food for other tables and the hamburger was especially appealing. The presentation of the food was also excellent. We have family in Santa Ynez so we are very familiar with restaurants over the MANY years, and feel Hadsten House is our new top find!"

  • "I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant and would gladly come back anytime. It is hard to find a place where all of the dishes are extremely tasty but this restaurant is the one! We had a large group of people and I bet we gave the chef a backache yet the food was amazing and made in a timely matter. The place itself is very comfortable, clean, and modern. Would love to come back."

  • "Stayed at the Inn, so made reservations here- very convenient. The ambiance is very nice for what they are trying to do. It's hard to make it romantic when they have LED lights that make it like you're being interrogated- that's my major complaint. HOWEVER, the food was AMAZING. We had the Lobster bisque- it was awesome...you must try. My hubby had the RIbeye which he said was the best piece of meat he's had in a year. And we go to nice restaurants, bbq at home some nice steaks - so it's hard to please him. Was my bday so they brought me a free creme brulee. Thanks so much! One last suggestion to the restaurant- service went from fantastic to spotty when a large group came in. Seems like they have could use more staff, but still go!"

  • "We walked into a virtually empty dining room but were seated next to another couple. We asked if we could be seated somewhere more private and were told that the other tables were reserved. OK, fine, we sat down. A couple minutes later the host/server came to us saying that she could move us to another table but she was going to sit us at a table right next to a different couple. When I tried to explain to her that we wanted more privacy and that this second table didn't change that situation she started getting an attitude. I pointed out a few 2 person tables on the other side of the room and she begrudgingly sat us there. We were then ignored for the next 7 minutes sipping our waters, until we walked out."

  • "We were looking for nice restaurant to celebrate my birthday on a Monday night. Not every place is open. I was greeted with a happy birthday. The staff was very attentive and willing to change our table if we didn't like what was selected, it was fine. The menu had nice selections with ample portions. We started with the Calamari appetizer and it was big enough for a meal. It was delicious. My rib eye steak was good, not the best ever, but good. The people seated near us, live in Solvang and they endorse this place so it is not just a tourist place. There was a man eating alone near us, and the friendly staff were very accommodating to him and would check on him. The service was excellent all around. I would not hesitate to return."

The presentation and quality of the food was impressive. the staff was attentive and because of the low attendance, very responsive. If you are in or around Solvang, you should give Hadsten a try."

  • "This is a wonderful example of outstanding dining. Hidden away on the edge of Solvang, this was an unexpected home run. The food was outstanding and the service was first class. It was immediately clear that the entire staff cares very much about the quality of the food and the quality of service. While we had one primary server, it felt as though the rest of the house was committed to our satisfaction. I could not recommend the food or the service more highly. "

  • "We had the lobster bisque, garlic fries, some kind of salad with goat cheese (I forgot what it was called), seafood pasta, and filet mignon. All the food was outstanding. In particular, the lobster bisque is the best I've had anywhere, and I highly recommend it. The garlic fries is a huge portion, and is light on the garlic. The salad was delicious. The seafood pasta was also a huge portion, and very tasty. The filet mignon was as good as I've had anywhere else. So absolutely no complaints or regrets about the food. Our server Brian was excellent and very attentive, courteous and helpful. I would definitely want to dine there again when back in town."
