H5O bistro & barGem with a great viewGreat view right on the river, modern decor, great food.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMUnderrated gemI can't for the life of me understand why this restaurant is such a well-kept secret. The food is terrific, as is the service, we had a great, large table at a big picture window overlooking the river and park. It is quiet, lovely ambience with lts of couches nad comfortable seating if you go there for drinks or to wait for someone, etc. A little pricey, but worth it~5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThere's more than you think...Most places you get what you pay for, but at H50 you get MORE than you pay for (or realize) when you order. Your entree will come with an amuse bouche (French for happy mouth) a small taste to tempt your palate. Then after dinner, whether you've ordered dessert, you will get another special sweet bite at the end. This is truly a surprise of a gem, and something that compliments the delicious cocktails, appetizers, entrees, and desserts.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe used our living socialWe used our living social coupon to try this restaurant and it was a terrific experience. The food was sublime and the service from the wait staff was excellent. We were there fairly early so it wasn't crowded but we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. We ate an amazing meal while we watched the activity along the waterfront. We will certainly return and I would not hesitate to recommend this restauant.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI have a few different foodI have a few different food allergies and this amazing creative chef altered the menu to meet my dietary needs. The food is always superb and is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. The service staff are always attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the food on the menu. They also serve very creative tasty cocktails as well. The first time I went there the chef made a complete entree that was not on the menu for my vegan friend that was out of this world. I have highly recommended this place to my friends and family.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster Weekend in PortlandWe enjoyed the Easter Brunch which was outstanding, the food was really quite amazing considering the cost, the seafood was very fresh, the meat offerings were very tender and flavorful, the breakfast offerings were delicious and the cakes decadently magnificent. The staff and servers were professional and unobtrusive. The bar was one of our favorites, friendly, helpful staff, good selection of drinks and incredible food offerings. Our whole experience was truly incredible. We look forward to our next stay. Well done H50 Bistro & Bar, you made our stay in Portland even more special.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was an excellent choiceThis was an excellent choice for Easter Brunch. Our family loved it! More modern selections than standard hotel type brunch buffets. The seafood was wonderful, I would like to have had standard seafood utensils available such as shell crackers and petit forks. The staff was attentive and friendly. It was a lovely sunny, spring day to have such a wonderful view of the waterfront. We will definitely return. Thank you!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMawesomeawesome food, service and atmosphere! I was very surprised at how good this restaurant was. It also looks like a good place for happy hour.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe stopped in for a not quickWe stopped in for a not quick but not too leisurely dinner before going to the theater on Saturday. We let the waiter know that as we sat down, and he paced our meal perfectly--we were in and out in 90 minutes which was just right. We had a living social deal so we ordered off the chef's menu and were very happy with everything we ordered and also with the special bites that came compliments of the chef. We'll be back!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWhen we first got to our tableWhen we first got to our table the restaurnact was really cool. We asked if the heat could be turned up and we did finally get some heat. Evidently the area where the dinning is not energy efficient. The windows appear to be single paine. Other than that the food was great as was the service. We would come back again...when the weather warms up. I think the restaurant should invest in a better climate control so guests are more comfortable.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden Gen in Hotel 50!The presentation was beautiful and the food delicious. The view, very nice and the service friendly and prompt. It is a hidden gem in a city of many great restaurants but so worth the reputation of many others. Can't wait to try happy hour.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a nice table with a view.Had a nice table with a view.
