Gyu-Kaku - Huntington BeachI'm not sure what changedI'm not sure what changed here. I have been to many GyuKaku locations. I eat at GyuKaku at least once a week for the last 6 years. I have always thought that the customer service at this location was the worst. It is the closest to my house and I would drive to other locations. I came by on a date last night and I must say we had a GREAT TIME. The manager came to our table and introduced himself the server was on top of our food and the grill changes were prompt. Keep up the great work we will be coming back.
Only one complaint our fire was adjusted by 3 different people within minutes of each other we would ask to have it turned up and as he would walk away another would turn it down as they walked by.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLove it!I've been to the Beverly Hill as well as the Huntington Beach location and loved them both. The garlic noodles are the best I've ever had! The only disappointing his is each location has a slightly different menu so I missed out on some favorites at the HB location.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Great FoodWe are from Phoenix but visit L.A.'s South Bay area 2-3x times/year and always make it a point to dine at Gyu-Kaku. The selection is great, the meat is always fresh and the bibimap are to die for. We heart Gyu-Kaku! We have only one complaint, that being they have not expanded to Phoenix yet. Best of all, food cooked at your own table is always hot. Pace yourself! The place was packed - duh, it was happy hour. We did get seated about 15-20 minutes after our reservation but considering how busy the place was I was happy to get seated. Our first table looked directly into the kitchen, yuck, they gladly changed it for us no problem. The food was served quickly as they do not have to cook anything, you do the barbecueing. Meats were delicious, I especially loved the duck breast and the shrimp. We also had 3-4 plates of beef which were a little chewy but very tasty. Not a full bar, not much wine. Japanese beers are OK, wish they had a broader selection of beverages to go with the cusine. Will definitely return, will just try to avoid happy hour. Our indoor reservations weren't ready, but they were able to seat us outside right away. It was a nice night, so we liked sitting outside better! One of the managers brought us our drinks and then took our order. He was very friendly and talked to us for a while. We were able to order from the happy hour menu, and he gave us tips on how to save more money by checking into Yelp and emailing them. Many different waiters brought us our food. They were prompt at clearing empty dishes from our table.
