Diner Reviews
  • "Was hard to get a server to take our order, and when our appetizers came, it wasn't what we had ordered. After all that was sorted out... food seem to taste and be fine, but later I heard from my daughter, one of two vegans in the party, that she was violently ill later. So overall, it was not a great experience."

  • "Not someplace you may traditionally think of for a dinner in NYC especially if you only go to "fancy" upscale restaurants. Don't be fooled by the location or the name...food was absolutely outstanding. Took a business colleague from the UK who was very happy with our experience."

  • "It was my first time dining here and I really enjoyed the food. I had Pad Thai and red sangria. I also tried the carrot cake and everything was delicious. The service was very good. After finishing our meal, my friend and I stayed a little bit longer just chatting and were not rushed to leave or anything. I wish they would add a little more to the drink menu but they do have something for everyone. Great place!"

  • "We came for brunch on a Sunday -- the restaurant had few customers. After we received our food, my daughters frittata was over cooked. She had a couple a of bites, and told the waiter. The waiter told the manager but when he returned to the table he did not remove the entree nor offer to get us another frittata. When the bill came, I told him I was surprised he did not take off the entry from my bill. He said he could get me another cup of coffee instead. I asked to talk to the manager. And he offered to take off 50% of the entree. I said no and paid the bill. I've never been to a restaurant so inconsiderate of the customer. I was appalled and will never go back."

  • "We've been here many times and have always had a pleasant experience. However, we got a new wait staff this time who wasn't trained at all and didn't know the menu. The kitchen was very slow as well and over-cooked my over-easy egg - twice! Seems like the menu was changed a little....and I'm not liking the mole sauce....oh yes, the food portions' been cut down as well. May be time to look for another organic spot!"

  • "Had a large party for a bday. they were very proactive in being accommodating prior to arrival. However, during stay, various issues happened. The meal ticket was lost so some people did not get orders or they came out very slowly, even after several reminders people were waiting for food. Food came out very sporadically. big party it was difficult as it is polite to wait to eat until everyone has their food. It didn't seem like we just had one waiter and as the dining experience went on they eventually became non-existent. We had to ask several times for the check which is strange as the dining area is relatively small and the establishment was not overly busy. I do appreciate the manner with processing payment. Food was solid though."

  • "Excellent dining experience! Wonderful food and service, even with our large party. Loved the menu---something for everyone. Argentinian Beef Stew was outstanding. Cannot wait to go back and try the other entrees. Very reasonably priced for NYC. Have enthusiastically recommended this restaurant to many friends and family members."

  • "Great, healthy food options - a little on the pricey side, but definitely a good place to go once and while to splurge on delicious cuisine. The carrot cake what OUT OF THIS WORLD :)"

  • "Great, great food - so happy to find an all organic place with a large selection of foods. The only problem we had was a long wait for the food, but once it came, it was wonderful. Will definitely go again."

  • "It's nice to know there's a place that consistently serves the healthiest of foods. I only wish they'd play with the menu a little more to offer a little more variety and then I'd visit more often!"

  • "Great food, reasonable prices. Local scene, packed. Try the chicken enchilada with mole sauce, or just have a cappacino."

  • "the food wasn't terrible, although for the quality i dont think it was worth it. souen is a far better option if you're looking for a quality vegetarian meal."

  • "It was my first time here. The first set back was when the table that was reserved online was not ready, while there were other tables of the appropriate size with the "reserved" sign on them that were not offered to us. This was unpleasant beginning. The main disappointment was the food. I ordered Fillet Mignon and it was neither tender nor flavorful. The sauce was mediocre. The side of Brussels sprouts was undercooked and flavorless. Another person in my group ordered a burger - that was very good! The rest of the food was Okay. This restaurant may work for people on specific diets it caters to (macrobiotic, vegan) and it is reasonably priced, but there are other good NYC restaurants where special diets can be accommodated."

  • "The food was wonderful. It was creative and delicious. One of the best healthy restaurants in NYC. The quesadillas were to die for. The carrot cake is so good that it's an inner battle to not order a second slice!"

  • "My wife and I live a paleo lifestyle and were doing a Whole30 challenge which has very strict rules. We found this place by searching "organic restaurants nyc" and it was one of the few in the city that wasn't specifically focused on raw/vegan/vegetarian food. From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out was a great experience. Eric was there to take care of us every step of the way. The side dish selection was perfect and I LOVED the different lifestyle menus separated and labeled to cater to specific needs. We will definitely be coming back to support this local and sustainable gem. And we will bring friends!"

  • "I loved everything about this restaurant! The food was delicious and well presented. The waiter was great. The Groupon deal was great. But most of all, the menu has wonderfully healthy food options. The raw blueberry cheesecake was to die for."

  • "We went here for the first time and we had already been to a wine tasting event so we weren't that hungry... we will be back with growling stomachs though since the menu looks great."

  • "Overall review (Bad, OK, Good): Food = Good; Service = Good; Ambience = Good Food: For apps we shared the hummus and pita plate. It was standard hummus and pita. For the entree I ordered the Argentinian stew and it had good flavor. It also was a good portion and enough to fill you. The one negative was that it was a bit salty solo but if you eat it together with the potato rosti it paired nicely. Service: Waiter was attentive. Food also was delivered in a timely fashion. Ambience: Standard restaurant. The one thing that stood out was the unisex bathroom where the sink area had a window that looked out into the restaurant."

  • "I made reservations here for my birthday with 3 friends. After it was clear the server was either not interested in engaging in a conversation about food choices or was unaware of the menu, I found an entire page of Raw/Vegan choices from which I ordered Walnut Meat Tacos which were delicious even if the meat wouldn't stay on the taco made of endive. Finding a way to bind the walnut meat would make the dish more enjoyable to eat. The Macro veggie burger was missing the sauce which was very needed. Overall the food is worth the trip but the ambiance including the tables which seemed to be overused or damaged (hopefully that wasn't the finish) gets a 2."

  • "We found this on Open Table. the reviews were excellent and absolutely true. It's a neighborhood gem between Chelsea and the Village. The food is delicious and the prices are so reasonable that they belie the fact that you're eating in NYC."

  • "The menu is so healthy and delicious. I ate the macrobiotic pad thai and loved it. I'm not on a macrobiotic diet, but I try to eat organic/natural and as healthy as possible - not always easy when out to dinner. Love the menu, and the staff was wonderful."

  • "I first came to GustOrganics on my birthday in 2013, as a gift from my aunt and uncle. I was initially skeptical, as I'd never been to an organic restaurant before, but I ended up loving the food and atmosphere so much I returned on my 2014 birthday! GustOrganics has so much to offer, and I'd highly recommend anyone to give it a try!"

  • "The service and the food were really mediocre (or actually less than mediocre), but it's expensive. My steak and eggs wasn't cooked as requested,, they remade it but still wrong. For their mistake, they took the cheapest thing off of the bill (a cup of coffee) and not the dish they messed up. It shows they really didn't care about the mistake they have made. I would not go back. And I would not recommend this place unless you just really want organic food, and you don't care about the taste or the price."

  • "Organic but also innovative and wonderful. You can't go wrong with this great gem in NYC . A staple when we visit, so nice not to have to question ingredients, you can trust they are organic. Very accommodating for allergies plus a nice selection of gluten free. Highly recommend."

  • "Especially enjoyed that you can get VEGAN AND GLUTEN FREE and also dine with a meat eater. Lots of interesting choices. Only drawback is it's a bit noisy."

  • "Visited with wife and two kids. Main reason was the organic and gluten free food. My daughter and me were just diagnosed with the disease a couple of weeks ago. Great food, nice service and an overall great experience. Quick service by knowledgable waitress. She knew everything about gluten free choices. Much appreciated. Had a couple of nice starters to share for everyone. Main courses were delicious and nice tasting. Service very quick and attentive. Highly recommended. Especially if you want organic and/or gluten free food. Bill came to $170 including tip. Not cheap but mommy and daddy did have two Mojitos and two glasses of wine in total. Interior is large and roomy."

  • "We had the lasagna which was tiny but delicious. My friend has the raw zucchini pasta, it was also excellent. We were however still hungry so we opted for dessert. I had the vegan carrot cake and my friend had the warm apple crisp/pie. Both were amazing. I guess my only complaint is it took our server more than 10 minutes to bring the check even after we asked for it. I would also skip the wine as it's not worthy of $10/glass."
