A word from Gulliver's Restaurant
In the last four decades Gulliver’s Restaurant has became one of the most popular Prime Rib Restaurant in Southern California.
Gulliver’s hand-selected beef (corn-belt) is slow roasted in a unique patented oven system to assure flavorful, tender and juicy Prime Rib dinners. Gulliver's Restaurant is well known also for its other specialties as in-house aged Prime Steaks, Chateaubriand, Salmon, Rack of Lamb, Baby Back Ribs and roasted Long Island Duck.
As you walk into a Gulliver's you will feel as though you have entered back in time to 18th century England. Guests at the Gulliver’s are surrounded by a veritable museum of leaded glass pieces, pewter and ceramic objects, and a collection of prints from Hogarth, Rowlandson and other Gulliver’s Travels illustrators.
The Portions are huge, the service is gracious and friendly, and most importantly, the beef is cooked to perfection.

Ordered filet mignon, very tender. Hubby's prime rib (Gulliver's cut) not the best ever- extremely fatty (not just marbling) and a bit tough. A bit rushed in service but good ambiance. As for birthday celebration, establishment dropped the ball. Mentioned with reservation but no acknowledgment."

I especially like their cream corn, and was a little disappointed when the waitress put a couple of spoonfuls, out of a small bowl, on our bread plates, then walked off with the rest. When you are paying $30 for a dinner, they can leave the rest of the bowl!! Creamed spinach a little salty for me this time."

  • "Prime rib not up to par. The service was not good. I asked for "no shrimp" on my house salad. It was brought to me with shrimp, so I switched with my wife's. It had shrimp on it also. We had to ask other servers twice to call our waitress over. She did not check on our meal until we were almost finished. We have been coming here for over 40 years, and this is the first time our dinner was not good."

  • "it's dark, quaint, hasn't changed in many years, but the food is excellent (prime rib, duck, steak were our meals) and the service also very good. apparently they are slower in summer so we had no trouble getting a table last minute. more of a fall/winter place I guess, no outdoor dining. if you have a hankering for some serious meat, go to Gullivers!"

Our server, Amanda, was quite enjoyable to deal with, and she seemed to have a second sense when we needed something (like four total orders of the creamed corn!). I even made a point of requesting to talk to the manager, and beamed my total happiness with Amanda to her. We'll be back soon, making sure to request one of her tables!   • "Gulliver's is wonderful because, although they're known for their fabulous Prime Rib, the rest of their cuts are just as delightful. The Chateaubriand was perfect! The best part? I finally found a spot that will leave my steak mooing! It has a festive, yet elegant atmosphere full of nods to its namesake novel. The perfect spot for a fancy date night or celebration! Beware, you will not leave hungry. Let's just say that one day I hope to be able to save room to try the trifle...one day..."

Some folks think Gulliver's is just a prime rib restaurant, and while the prime rib is some of the best you will ever had, there are equally good entrees on their menu also. I had the Prime NY Steak on this visit and it was juicy and tender, cook rare just the way I like it. My Wife had the roasted chicken and it was also cooked to perfection, we both loved our meals."

My wife had the turkey dinner which was very salty and tasted much like a hungry man TV dinner.....very uninteresting. The service was horrible....granted we sat on the bar side so that we could watch the game. I think that if you are a senior citizen and can't really taste your food anyway...this is your place."

This time I tried the daily fresh fish (halibut) to limit the calories and, while the fish was ok, it was overdone and the portion was rather small. I recognize that they're not known for fish, but I was hoping it would be better than it ended up. So, stick with the prime rib and, if you're calorie counting, order a salad."
