  • "Great restaurant with exceptional service and a great atmosphere. Our waiter was very knowledgable and made some very great recommendations. We had a great time and will definitely return."

  • "Wonderful food, service, sommelier, atmosphere... everything was perfect. We have a new favorite restaurant in Denver."

  • "We have dined at Guard & Grace 4 times this month. We have not been disappointed once. The food, service & ambience is outstanding. We enjoy the bar area with its friendly bartenders which allows us to pop in without a reservation. We will return again & again!!"

  • "Very underwhelmed by the food and the service. The bartender, Matt, was the highlight of the evening. Friendly, knowledgable and accomodating. From there things were just mediocre. Our server did not seem very polished or knowledgable. The steaks, which we ordered in the classic style (cooked in an 1800 degree oven) were lukewarm. I'd give it another shot because I think that at its best it would be really good. Unfortunately in my experience it was not."

  • "I love the atmosphere at Guard & Grace and the food doesn't disappoint either. We had a delicious appetizer of buffalo tartar and some salads and steaks. All of the food was wonderful, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out."

  • "STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND BROUGHT WATER WHILE WE WERE WAITING FOR OUR TABLE"

  • "I ordered the French dip and it was not good. The bread was old, there was hardly any sauce on the meat. The fries were just luke warm & they were tiny like from the bottom of the bag. The restaurant was FREEEEEEZING. We had to order hot coffee for lunch."

  • "We loved the atmosphere, the oysters, burratta, bone in ribeyes and filet as well as the smashed and mashed, the zucchini and the carrots. However the angliotti lacked sauce and enough lamb and the octopus was over cooked and chewy. Also, the server didn't have a lot of enthusiasm to talk about the menu outside of selling additional sides or sauces. Great wine selection and draft beer selection as well as creative and delicious dessert menu."

  • "We had a great meal here on a Friday evening at 8PM: steaks, appetizers, salads and sides. We didn't try any of the small plate first menu, but you won't go wrong with the steaks they serve."

  • "good, but pricey... not sure value is there... but fun to visit rarely"

  • "Octopus and black fish were excellent. Bison tar tar okay. Crab appetizer was very good. Coffee cake was superb. Best service in Denver, very knowledgeable about the food and cooking processes, at least Wade our waiter rocked.."

  • "Right downtown Guard and Grace has a great location. There are many steak options to choose from. The prime filet was amazing. Great environment. Not to loud so we were able to talk and hear each other. Good wine and drink list."

  • "We went here for my dad's birthday and wound up spending far more than we had anticipated... but it was worth every penny. Everything on the menu is mindful and the service was fantastic. I'd recommend against bringing a picky vegetarian but all things considered, we're lucky to have Guard & Grace here in Denver."

  • "This was my second time in for lunch. Everything was missing a beat since the first visit, from the friendliness of the hostess to the quality of the food. I had the poki which was good and also the shrimp salad which I thought was very bland. Still trying to find those couple of menu favorites that will keep me coming back. Maybe just an off day...?"

  • "We had a great experience! We arrived early for our reservation, but they seated us right away at a window table as we requested. Loved reading the menu-- such a great variety. Bison tartare recommended by server was amazing. Filet oscar style was the best steak we've ever had (and we travel and eat out a lot). Great wine list, too. Server was knowledgeable, friendly and made our experience really enjoyable. We'll be back here every time we're in Denver!"

  • "I have eaten here twice now and sat outside and inside. Both were awesome lunches. The servers were fabulous on both occasions. The food was excellent and the parties I was with on both occasions also loved the food. I can't wait to go back again very soon! It's close to work, which is even better."

  • "hmmmmmmmmmm ok. great wine, good appetizers......"light on the Spanish ham dish"....a little skimpy meal: good bone in ribeye.....cold bake potato, undercooked, thin sour cream, great brussel sprouts"

  • "I wasn't impressed. The restaurant is noisy, the bar area is not separated from the dining. Food is ok but not worth the $. Service was great. Ambiance is lacking."

  • "Service and food were geat. We all had salads and they were excellent. We would have enjoyed being offered bread or something to accompany our salads. The cookies were excellent. Love the décor. Nice to have a new restaurant downtown that is not on the horrible 16th street mall or in Lodo or Larimer Square. Excellent spot for business lunches. I will return."

  • "The salads are always good and very different. Some day I'll break down and have the tenderloin - just a bit pricey for lunch."

  • "I took a few business partners for dinner and we were all thoroughly impressed!"

  • "Wonderful fresh crafted selections. Everything we ordered was amazing. This will be the new go to place in Denver. It has everything you could ask for in fine dining, service and ambiance."

  • "Yawn… Another steak house, and not that great. Ordered "prime bone-in rib-eye" medium rare and it was not tender, had too much gristle and was under-cooked. Companion had "special" rack of lamb - and it was over-sauced, and too much sweetener (corn syrup I'm guessing). Side dishes were very boring …. Extremely expensive - there are much better steak houses in town, with better value…. Service was great, however..."

  • "The food was awesome! The service stellar. Clearly Chef Guard is doing something right with his latest endeavor in Denver dining. We had a birthday celebration here and everyone made it a very special evening starting with the table placard to multiple staff members stopping by the table to wish me a happy birthday. We will definitely be back!"

  • "The place is cool and contemporary, nice extended bar/hightop area and restaurant seating. Free Valet parking is a plus. Its pretty clear that they are still working through front of house processes, and the service was hit and miss - communications between hostess stand and waiting staff non existent, despite several attempts. Oysters and Fish were very good (Salmon and Black Cod), however the grass fed NY strip fell short of my expectations, and other GF beef experiences - the cut was too thick for a NY Strip, and anything other than rare was tough."

  • "If you don't get a table with an umbrella it's very uncomfortable to sit in the sun at metal tables with metal chairs. I hope they have more umbrellas on order."
    Dined on 6/10/2014
  • "I like Troy's take on a steakhouse. I felt some dishes were a little pricey, all of the beef was reasonably priced. The ambiance and chairs are lacking. The ambiance is very dark and the lighting is meek. The chairs are very uncomfortable in the tables for 2."

  • "Simply one of the best dining experiences I've ever had; and I go out to eat 3-4 times a week."

  • "We loved everything that evening the only one thing that was a dissapoint was the chicken it was really dry!! Defiantly going back!!"

  • "Jacob and John James are both great servers! I've been here for lunch several times and each time I come they not only remember me, but what I've ordered in the past. Food is great. Service is great. Quiet enough for a productive business lunch but not stuffy!"

  • "Beautiful place and the food matched the ambiance. We had the local grass fed filet with a baked potato. The meat was amazing and the potato had a salt crust which elevated something ordinary into something special. Don't miss the pastry chef's potato rolls they bring out with dinner. It was hands down the best thing we had. Worth every penny."

  • "We had reservations with my parents for my dad's 60th birthday. Arrived on time and has to wait for 10/15 minutes to be seated - no explanation as there were no other groups waiting. On the upside, the ambiance was cool and they've done a beautiful job with the decor... We ordered two appetizers (spinach dip and crab cakes), which arrived BEFORE our drinks. We all thought that was a bit strange. We waited for our food for nearly 40 MINUTES, and our waiter only stopped by to tell us it "should be there in a few minutes"... Once it arrived, it was overcooked and cold, our potatoes had a layer of "skin" on them. We let our waiter know and he assured us we'd be taken care of. We were comped ONLY for 2 of the steaks and dessert!? Won't be back"

  • "We had a business group of 5 people and it could not have been better. Our server was extremely informative on the menu. Surprisingly so since it had only opened 8 weeks prior. He guided us in the right direction and all of his recommendations were divine. The sea bass was absolutely one of the best in town. I highly recommend dining at Guard & Grace. "

  • "Living downtown, I try and hit all the new hotspots for dinner. I have been anxiously awaiting Guard and Grace because I'm a fan of Troy Guard's other restaurants (notably TAG). Took my parents here (they are in their 60s) this past Friday night. Awesome food, fantastic decor but it was VERY loud and difficult to hear (especially for them). The waiter was great but talked too much. I'm all for excitement and wanting to please your diners but it was almost TOO much service. That said, he was very knowledgeable about the food and menu. One of the best steaks I've had in town and I love the variety of the menu. The one downside is the noise. The acoustics in there made it difficult to talk due to the concrete walls and open space."

  • "Bill and I had a fabulous two hour lunch at your restaurant earlier this week, What a gem in downtown Denver! Certainly one of the finest most creative menu I have seen as of late. I have already recommended to a few other friends who are "foodies". Our meal was amazing and the service was top notch. We will be back. Thank you - Madalaine"

  • "FOOD: All the food we ordered came out burnt. The salmon was nice and juicy on the inside but heavily charred on top. The octopus? Good... but burnt. The ribeye? Pretty burnt. But the worst of all was the side of "fire-roasted" carrots. One side of every carrot was so black and burnt, I had to scrape it off for fear of getting cancer. I have photographic evidence of all the burnt pieces that piled up on my plate. SERVICE/AMBIANCE: It's a pretty impressive new restaurant. The manager came around to each table chatting with everyone. They also did a good job of refilling our waters. We were also celebrating our anniversary and it was impressive that all the employees signed a card for us. "
