Diner Reviews
  • "Went for a special occasion with seven kids and they were very accommadating."

  • "We just love this salad bar! There was live music and laughter in the air. This classic Park City standard has fresh carpet and new dining room chairs. The steak was perfect and just what mom wanted for her special birthday dinner. These folks never disappoint."

  • "When your talking steak in Houston, TX, a restaurant should be highly competitive in quality, service, and atmosphere. We were disappointed with all three. "

  • "If you like Prime Rib this is the place to go. Although there are other innovations on the menu and nightly specials my family loves the excellent cuts cooked to order. This is also home to the best salad bar in Park City. We enjoy the weekend entertainment with a soloist singer who does both country and folk keeping the theme of the decor. The waiters always stay on top of your needs and drink refills appear before you even ask. If you are not familiar with Park City the place is a bit hard to find but worth the effort. I only have one warning and it is that the desserts are intense. We oftentimes do not have the ability to make it to the tray. We have taken home a dessert and save it for later."

  • "Grub never let's me down. More than decent food for the price. Service is always good. I love the live music at times too. Salad bar is a winner! Always go during Sundance without a doubt but pop in a few other times during the year too. It's a 2 min walk from my house, so perfect for me and guests. Can't wait to be back! "

  • "I was very disappointed bc I like to go to this place but this time we was celebrating my husband birthday. I call them to let them know and nobody care about it. No one simple congratulation so I do not recommend this place to any especial occasion. Otherwise the food was good not waoooooo but ok the service of our beautiful waitress was outstanding just the detail that the person that took my message by phone do not let her know about our celebration."

  • "A true Park City tradition to hit the Grub Steak after a great day skiing."

  • "My husband ordered the Buffalo tend, it was only about 4oz, which was not listed on the menu that it was so small, it was sig. under cooked. We split a New York strip between our two kids (kids menu does NOT have a steak). This steak came out RARE, The waiter wanted to argue that it was on the rare side of med, eventually he decided to get it cooked to med. The manager brought the same steak back, still RARE. The manager then brought a new steak out, which was more RARE than the first one. On the fourth attempt, it came back closer to medium, but still a bit rare. They took it off the bill, but the experience sort of ruined the fun night. I had the small prime rib, perfect medium and taste was good."

  • "The food is mediocre and the service is lacking. Although I have to say overall service in Park City, is lacking. Décor of the restaurant is cute and it is family-friendly. But this is definitely a one-time experience."

  • "My wife and I went to the Grub Steak Restaurant a year ago for dinner while we were in Park City for our honeymoon. Our server, Andrei was very personable and we enjoyed talking to him! We were able to eat there a 2nd time when we went to Park City for a presentation. Once again, the experience and the food were great! Our 3rd visit was yesterday for our 1 year anniversary and we were delighted to have Andrei as our server again! As before, the food, service, and the entire experience were great!"

  • "Good was fair. Great salad bar. Our steaks had no taste and spending 40-50 on a steak shod melt on your mouth. It had no seasoning at all. It tastes like you were eating rubber. The ribs were much better because they had BBQ sauce. Great desserts!"

  • "We enjoyed the Grub Steak very much. The food was good and our children (ages 7 and 10) enjoyed their food too - we especially loved the "young adult" menu as my youngest daughter prefers fish and more "adult options" over the normal chicken fingers and burgers you typically see on kids menus. She had the salmon and loved every bite!!"

  • "If you like Outback at 2x the price then Grub Steak is a good choice. Service is friendly. Would not recommend the salad bar--order a salad. ."

  • "Good food, prices a bit high, but that is to be expected in a resort town. Good salad bar, but unable to finish salad, since the waiter seemed to rush the meal, bringing out the main course rather quickly before anyone was done with the salad. Place was half empty, so didn't see the need to rush."

  • "I had the bone-in NY strip but it wasn't anything special. They had a cool setup where the bar was slightly below ground level and the band played on a platform on top of the bar. Cool place to check out for a variety of steaks. Ruth's steaks have better flavor but we didn't want to go all the way to PC and eat at a chain."

  • "Saturday night, busy seemingly flowing. Nice salad bar. Ordered steaks for party of 4 - nothing special. Bread pudding came out cold, had to ask to heat it and still came back cold. Poor service"

  • "The salad bar is outstanding and the drink menu is a nice surprise. The wine list had some quality bottles at reasonable restaurant prices with some surprise bottles (Older Vintage Chateau Palmer, and 05 Dominus) that were higher priced but very reasonable for the bottle. The food was very nice however I feel the special that night was a bit overhyped by the wait staff for what you got. Overall a great experience and a place we would go back too."

  • "Just a great well run place. Food and service were excellent and the value was great for a resort town. Floor managers are "On it". One of the best overall meals we had in Park City."

  • "We enjoyed our meal immensely. Our waiter was stellar (wish I could remember his name!). Food was unique (we enjoyed Elk, Kobe beef, bison). Very nice salad bar. Lots of food, everything cooked perfectly but pricier than we were expecting based on the Open Table estimate. The live guitar/singer and western theme was special. Don't miss Grub Steak while in Park City... there is a good reason it's been open since the 70's!"

  • "From the picture on OpenTable and Grub's menu, I thought I was going to a 'better' restaurant. I should have turned around when I got to their tiny, uninviting front door, or at least when I saw the salad bar in the entrance of the restaurant. Plenty of empty tables, but we were asked to wait. I must say I was the only one of three who had a less than wonderful food experience. Not a place for a foodie but adequate for folks who don't care about that or ambiance."

  • "This is an informal, western themed restaurant which, unlike most steak places in Park City, includes salad or soup and one side with the cost of the entree so comparably it's a bargain, although not cheap. The ribs were very tender. Two steaks were done as requested and very tasty. The third steak was returned for being medium, when medium rare was requested and the replacement was mostly rare. However, the staff was very pleasant and prompt about making the exchange. We appreciated the gluten free menu and food allergy expertise of the staff. Pacing was good. This is not fine dining, but good solid western fare."

  • "Grub Steak has an exceptional selection of meats but they come at a price. This is an expensive meal--if you like red meat, there are many cuts to chose from and they are well-prepared but expensive. Good salad bar--not great. Nice selection of kids meals options in that there are 2 levels: up to 10 and then young adults up to 14. Small, appropriate size portions on both levels. We did not eat desserts but saw the tray go by and they looked good and the waiter told us they were all house-made."

  • "This is an ideal spot to meet your group or take your family. Perfect for the all-day ski families who are hungry at night. Very kid friendly- there are menus for everyone! Great salad bar and the various fresh breads are DELISH!"

  • "GSH was wonderful! Friendly & knowledgable staff, food high end, fresh & cooked perfectly without being pretentious or overpriced. Salad bar fresh & attractive. Great wine list. Amazing steak!"

  • "Surprised at the actual quality given the prior reviews. It was nice to have a salad bar but the selection was ok at best. Elk was grisly, rib were average as were the French onion soup and petit tenderloin."
    Dined on 2/10/2014
  • "Despite positive reviews, I think this place is nothing but a tourist trap. The restaurant boasts a prime rib and classic "cowboy cuisine" which simply is mediocre at best. This is just another black angus."

  • "Great food, but elegant prices for a Golden Corral type ambiance. We had a reservation, but from the moment we were seated we were basically told to hurry because there was another resetvation behind us. We arrived before our reservation time slot and were asked if we could be finished in an hour and a half! I've never been asked that before! We were rushed by our waiter and wanted to laugh when he VERY halfheartedly asked us if we wanted dessert. So sorry that we spent $250 there!"

  • "We have been to park city 2 years in a row and eaten at 50- Main, Zoom, Silver and other places. Grub was the best meal. It has a down home feel and offers good steaks and an awesome burger."

  • "The food at Grubb Steak House is very good. They have a wide selection of choices even if you don't eat steak which I don't. There is a great salad bar which is rare in most restaurants now. Good eating establishment in Park City, Utah."

  • "Smack dab in the middle of the Sundance Film Festival, this was the perfect restaurant for a quick, excellent meal between movies. It was out of the historic Main Street traffic, they had PARKING and the food was very good. We especially enjoyed their plentiful and excellent salad bar. It was nice to eat in a restaurant that offered so many vegetables. My steak was flavorful and tender."

  • "We had dinner at Grub recently and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was good, salad bar was nice, and service was super. The live singer’s volume was low and pleasant. (My biggest complaint for live entertainment at restaurants is they are usually so loud you cannot enjoy your dinner conversation. Not the case here!) I had a steak and my partner had the prime rib. Both were very good. Our only complaints: bread on salad bar was not warm and portions were too large. Desserts looked great but we were too full to try them. Next time we will order off the light fare menu and try the bread pudding."

  • "I went to Grub Steak with my two sons and husband. After a full day of skiing, we brought our appetites. I ordered a petite filet, my husband ordered the ribeye, my 16 year old ordered prime rib and salmon and my 11 yr. old ordered the prawns and a small tenderloin. Two of us ate off the salad bar, which was excellent and two ordered Caesar salads. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. My husband and I were also able to order a good bottle of wine and we all shared dessert. We had been to Grub Steak a few years earlier with our 3 girls as well for NewYears Eve and also enjoyed it. It is a place you can count on for a good experience and a great steak!"

  • "My steak was dry and cooked improperly. When the manager came over he blamed me for having it cooked well done. He was rude and spoke to me like I was a child. I will never go back there again."
