Grove has to be my favorite place to eat. It has everything. Exquisitely crafted foot, amazing drink selection, and a fantastic wait staff. Seriously, this is a world class restaurant. Grove wouldn't be out of place in Chicago's or New York's fine dining circles. If you're in West Michigan for a visit, and love food, you owe it to yourself to experience Grove.

Food, wine (do the pairing)and service - outstanding. We were a group of 6 and we all enjoyed our choices. The only thing I would skip ( although still tasty)was the autumn salad. So many of the other 1st or 2nd courses we tasted were better. Go and enjoy.

We value and enjoy the local, seasonal farm-to-table concept, and Grove is our best experience with it yet. The list of local food sources is long as is the menu. Food preparation and presentation were unique and delicious. We ordered the 3 course tasting menu, which I would definitely recommend. I don't think I have had better service in a restaurant, including hostess, servers, and waiter. From an unfamiliar bourbon to an unusually seasoned soup, our waiter was quick to bring us a sample when we had questions. He was always available but did not rush as we read through our possible first, second, and third course selections. Each course, with excellent matching wine, was brought promptly but, again, not rushed.

This was my first visit to The Grove, and I was very impressed. The wine list is fantastic, and they have a number of signature cocktails that are also very good. Food was excellent. It was artfully prepared and presented. Definitely a top 5 dinner spot in Grand Rapids.

Grove's dining experience is fantastic. Amazing selection of food, wines and beer. The Shrimp and Grits is tasty, the Mole Spiced Butternut Squash was perfectly spiced and my husband had the Creswick Pork Two Ways was delectable (in his words). Don't miss out on the Butterscotch Pudding for dessert. Portion sizes were perfect.

We had heard how good "The Grove" was from friends -- let's just say, it exceeded our expectations. We did the 'tasting' menu of 3 courses and not only did each of the 4 of us LOVE each course, there was plenty of food at what I consider to be a very reasonable price. Can't wait to go back!

I generally am not a huge advocate for farm to table dining, however, Grove pulls it off. Both me and my fiancee' ordered the tasting menu and were extremely impressed with all elements of the meal, flavor, presentation, service, price, drinks - everything was on point. For $35 I highly recommend trying the tasting menu. The portions are a bit small, particularly for seafood items like the scallops, but it is well worth it to experience all that this restaurant has to offer from its menu. I will certainly be recommending this restaurant to everyone that I know that lives in GR or who may be passing through. Again, this place is a must visit restaurant and a real gem to the state. For comparison see The Cooks House, Traverse City.

The food was fantastic, the $35 special was a good way to sample the three courses. The appetizers and salads that my wife and I ordered were great. My only issue is I left hungry -- I ordered the lamb T-bone. Turns out on the sampler, that's a single lamb chop. I was disappointed in the portion, especially since it was so good. I have to admit that I overeat meat, and would have 3 or 4 lamb chops at home --- but, one???? Note, if you order the lamb T-bone off the regular menu, you still only get two.

GROVE never disappoints! My server was so knowledgeable about the wine list, and ready to point out some of the daily specials. I usually order from the "Taste of Grove" Menu (includes 3 courses for approx. $35). On this visit, Alaskan King Crab was a newcomer to the menu, so I ordered it in a salad, and in a spicy soup (I like spicy) to follow. No "assembly required," the kitchen did all the shell-removal work. I followed this with the Grove scallops--always melt-in-your-mouth. Dessert was pumpkin puree, graham cracker, cinnamon ice cream & toasted marshmallows.

The Grove menu is the most imaginative we have seen in quite a while. Food was wonderfully well-prepared and served promptly. Service was attentive and friendly. Noise level was a bit high due primarily to a large party seated just next to us. Overall, an excellent choice for our anniversary dinner.

Although it was our first time at The Grove, it is now on our short list of great places to dine in GR. The excellent prix fixe menu choices were so abundant, two of us decided to let the server choose for us. We were not disappointed; every course was beautifully presented and delicious. His wine pairings were also spot-on. Hearing that we liked French wines from the Provence region, the Som also brought us a wonderful Tibouren, as a treat. We enjoyed this level of attentive -- but not intrusive -- service all evening. We will definitely return.

We took my in-laws here for their anniversary. We got the 3 course meal. It was good, but after tip we spent over $250 for four people I thought there was a lot of room for improvement. The server needed some education regarding the wine list. My father-in-law wanted to see a beer list and you would have thought he asked the person who brought the food out to do a advance calculus. The veggies were under done. Everything could have benefited from some more seasoning. Overall, I don't think we will return.

We always have had great luck with Grove! You can't beat the service and the good quality. This time was even better than times past. Everything we ate was phenominal, started with vegetable ragout that was so good we wanted to like our plate. Then I ordered the Otto's chicken with tomato grits and succotash, it exceeded my expectations! My husband got the jambalaya he was also in 7th heaven with his choice. This place is worth the $$$$ and will not disappoint. Make sure to make reservations well over a week in advance if you want in before 8:00 on a Friday or Saturday.

We went for our anniversary and had a great time. They coordinated a flower delivery for us, provided complimentary champagne for a toast, and wowed us with one course after another. Cavatelli Pasta had an amazing rich flavor, and the presentation of the Egg "Benedict" was very impressive. The Potato Soup as so smooth and creamy. And you know the presentation is good when all of the tables around you are taking pictures of each dish that comes out! Our server (Nathan) was perfect. Attentive and insightful, without feeling like he was overbearing. Great suggestions on the tasting menu and the wine. And the fact that he looked like Ryan Reynolds (which I don't...) was certainly appreciated by my wife! We will be back soon.

The Grove is not where you eat daily, or pick up a quick bite. We loved the 3-courses. You don't overeat and the food is all quite exotic relative to a "fast casual" dining experience. I think The Grove and Leo's are the only places that offer ceviche, which to me is a sure sign of a progressive restaurant. You could probably close your eyes and point at the menu and be happy with your choice. Everyone talks about how expensive it is, but it's not bad unless you're ordering a $150 bottle of wine. Our server was prompt, but perhaps a little arrogant; maybe that's how these kinds of restaurants are. No complaints really. Our greeter and server made sure to congratulate us on our anniversary and provided small glasses of champagne.

I'll start by saying weekly I travel nationally/internationally for business, which means dinner in many great restaurants. Grove in my top 5. We are new to SW MI and took a chance on Grove for our first visit to GR. The Earth to Table concept isn't new, but we like the idea and the menu here supported the concept. With so many great choices, love the Taste of Grove option of trying 3 different items. My wife had the shrimp & grits (WOW-unbelievably outstanding), steak salad and gnocchi. I purposely tried things outside my norm. I started w the smelt (took me back to 1977 in the UP), fried green tomatoes then the jambalaya (WOW-better than Nawleans?). And WOW! The butterscotch pudding!! Menu changes w ingredients, so new foods next time!

This was my first visit to Grove. I formerly lived in Grand Rapids and was recently home for a visit and so decided to look up top rates restaurants on Trip Advisor. Grove has certainly earned it spot as number one! The ambiance and unique styling of the restaurant, complete with tablet menus, made for a great first impression. Our service was outstanding and the food was to die for. Everything on the menu looked absolutely delicious, making choosing my meal the only negative aspect of the dining experience. The three course offering provided a good value and opportunity to try a variety of dishes - all of which were absolutely outstanding. I will highly recommend Grove to anyone in the area.

Had a great night at Grove when I was in town for one night. Menu is huge so making choices was difficult, but Erin helped us through it. $35 three course menu is the way to go. Everything we tried was great. Added a cheese plate and two (yes I said two) desserts each because we couldn't choose. Not the most inexpensive meal but with all that food, a couple drinks, and tip and we were out of there under $150. Super staff too. Highly recommended.

If you're a vegetarian or vegan and want a great meal -- not just a grilled cheese or a salad at a restaurant with limited meat-free options, this is the place to go. Grove, in my opinion, is Grand Rapids' best restaurant. The service is great, too... I went with two friends to celebrate a birthday, and our waitress brought the birthday girl free dessert and also was quick to help us customize our three-course meals. Even my friends -- who are not vegetarians -- ordered off the vegetarian menu because the options were so amazing. I don't have a negative thing to say about this restaurant -- except that it's always so busy because the food is phenomenal!

We went for "Restaurant Week" and found a great variety of items on the 3 course menu. I did the wine pairing and found the selections to be excellent. The food was well presented and nicely seasoned. Some of the dishes were close to being "over creative" with many flavors and ingredients but they all went together well. The service was excellent with immediate seating at our reservation time. Good flexibility on the chef's part to accommodate some food allergies in one of our party. We will definitely return!
