We also appreciate the relative quiet, as we both have hearing issues and there is never any loud music!
Best risotto ever, what I almost always order. Love it!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOver all very good but...The Grove caught my attention by participating in Palm Springs Restaurant Week(PSRW). Sadly, 1. we were not offered the PSRW menu and 2. turns out the restaurant week menu was a regular prefix offering but is normally more expensive (we were charged "normal price" but not enough difference to quibble). That aside, the crab cake was delectable (scallops were slightly undercooked); pork osso boco was falling off the bone and tasted amazing with a good variety of root veggies (fish of the day was fine); creme brûlée and bread pudding were both good. Waiter was awkward when communicating but brilliant for his sense of timing of the courses and knowing when we needed something. We decided to stay on site for dinner and chose Artisan Kitchen. Our server was fun and fantastic! She was engaging (remembering each of our names) and playful.(joking at the loud, immature frat boys celebrating their Orchid Ball with their parade of dates!) The food was not as awesome as I had hoped for but it was still delicious and worth not having to drive elsewhere. The patio al fresco dining in the warm desert evening was awesome. Online reservations made through Open Table at 4:45 were not available until until 7:45 When I called the Grove directly, I was also told that first reservation was available at 7:45pm yet when we arrived at restaurant the dining room was virtually empty.
