Diner Reviews
  • "One of our favorite places in the valley. Great food and friendly, courteous staff."

  • "My guests had never been to this restaurant, so it was something new for the group... enjoyable salads and fish dishes at reasonable prices for a nice restaurant. I requested a "healthy" alternative to a birthday cake; the chef made a special 10" berries/citrus tart in puff pastry -- nice and light!!"

  • "We love The Grove for breakfast! And we really love Alex and his great customer service and friendly smile! Always a great experience here."

  • "There weren't a lot of diners when we had lunch this latest visit but the service was rather slow. We weren't in a hurry so it was not an issue. We all ordered their cheeseburger which is always good. You can count on it being freshly prepared the way you want! The setting is beautiful."

  • "We live nearby and frequently go to this restaurant. It's always good, the service is friendly, welcoming, and pleasing. Consistently good food, upbeat and vibrant."

  • "We have lunch at Miramonte at least once every week or so. This is the first time we've been for dinner in a year. Our server was abrupt and made us feel uncomfortable. I requested a specific table when I made the reservation and that table was unavailable when we arrived. The maître d' that someone else had reserved it before we had. They should have let me know I would have changed the date . The food as always was great but I think will continue lunch at Mirmonte not dinner"

  • "We've been going here for years and they still can't get the service right. Our server brought dishes out in the wrong order. Weak. The food is tasty, but nothing special. Wine list is limited and over-priced. So many better spots in the Coachella Valley."

  • "We dined with out of town friends. Six of us met for dinner and each one of us was delighted with our meal. My crabcake appetizer was beautifully presented and delicious; the lobster bisque my husband had is deservedly famous--rich and flavorful. I had the paella entree; my husband and had the special--halibut. Both were delicious and delectable. The molten chocolate cake for dessert was fantastic--it satisfied the chocoholic in both of us. Others had the (huge) fatoosh salad, the ribeye steak, the pork osso bucco; the gazpacho--raves all around. Sergio was a wonderful server, insuring a delightful meal."

  • "My husband and I live in Indian Wells half the year and we absolutely love this place for breakfast! Lots of great things to choose from, and really friendly service. We love Alex and Esteban and appreciate their 5-star service every time we're there. They always remember everything we like and always go above and beyond!"

  • "I WAS EXTREMELY SUPPRISED BY THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD LONG TIME SINCE I HAVE LOBSTER BISQUE THICKENED BY CREAM INSTEAD OF FLOUR EXCEPT AT HOME"
    Dined on 3/10/2014
  • "Everything good about the experience except our server who began as somewhat helpful but deteriorated to downright hostile. Not sure if it was because of the two discounts we used as a IW resident and the wine program but she had no business acting as she did."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "Price, food and location are worth more than you pay. Brunch is as a good a value as their fixed priced dinner. We came from Boston to spend time in Palm Desert. Miramonte is an ALWAYS part of our visit. It has only gotten better in the are of food."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Service attentive and efficient. Food mediocre at best, 3 of us same conclusion. Wanted to sit outside, as they have a beautiful setting. NO HEATERS! What, ever restaurant in the desert with outdoor seating has heaters for this time of year. Very surprised. The food has changed, very disappointed."
    Dined on 3/3/2014
  • "It is so nice to go to a restaurant here you can actual talk to the people you are sitting with! The menu has a good variety (check out their 3 course specials!) and the food is not only presented nicely but it tastes great! We have always had really good service. The waiters are attentive and very pleasant. We love the atmosphere, service and food! That's hard to beat!"

  • "We had a wonderful meal with fabulous service at Artisan Kitchen in Indian Wells. Because we wanted to dine outside, our only complaint was the noise from the party at the upper level. Our food was delicious, the ambience magnificant and service impeccable. Next time we return, on our anniversary next month, we will look forward to a quieter dining experience."

  • "The food was perfect, very tasty. portion sizes were just the right amount. We went for Sunday brunch and there was a great menu as well as a nice buffet. Outdoor seating looked nice, although we ate inside due to warmth. Everyone at our table was very happy with their food. We will definitely be going back for our next get together."

  • "The restaurant was beautiful and the table where we were seated was great and romantic. My wife loved where the hostess sat us. I believe it was table 10. The food was great and the waiters were great."

  • "Both our hostess, Wanda, and our server, Andre, were very friendly, personable, professional with high standards of excellence. This was a romantic Valentine's Evening dinner. Wanda picked out a quiet corner table & the flowers I had arranged for were waiting for us at our table. Andre did a good job pacing our meal as requested. And the fixe price menu - a five course meal - was exceptional - every course outstanding. Great presentation & delicious! And a bargain at the price charged. One cocktails, the Hemingway Royale, was new to us and very tasty - light but not too sweet. Having rose petals on each table and red napkins added to the atmosphere. Only suggestion - place a rose on each table instead of the mini wheat stalks."

  • "For a place to say they are farm-to-table..i had very high expectations...being let down can't even come close to what I experienced here tonight. I live to EAT. I've been to a lot of nice places east to west coat to do just this....support local establishments, local farmers, supporting sourcing responsible. Eat what's in season. etc. i'm a top chef junkie.. really over salted scallops, rubbery cold bacon on my salad that seemed a left over bacon from lunch service. mac and cheese for the kids from store bought box? really guys? and all this for almost 100.00. Yuck, disappointed, waste of our time and money."

  • "Gracious efficient service. Fabulous Chilean sea bass. We enjoy both eating on the patio and inside. A welcoming place with great food."

  • "Miramonte is always trying to improve the food, menu selection and service. They aim to please! We had cheeseburgers which were good. The Cobb salad is not the traditional Cobb. I would stick with the cheeseburger! The french fries are very good!"

  • "Delicious fresh food. Reasonable for a hotel restaurant. Known to be a favorite with locals as well as hotel guests. I had the panko crusted sea bass and it was excellent as were the vegetables served as an accompaniment."

  • "It was our first time at this restaurant. We were very impressed with the food and the service. The ambiance was terrific. Would definitely return to this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone."

  • "My wife and I celebrated her birthday and our wedding anniversary at the hotel, spa and many meals at Grove Artisan Kitchen at Miramonte Resort. Our first meal was lunch the day we arrived; 2 different salads both excellent. Breakfast the first morning was wonderful, the Eggs Benedict for me and Egg White Burrito for my wife. Dinner was excellent - we both had the filet. Then another great lunch and breakfast. Service was impeccable and food outstanding. I highly recommend the restaurant and the entire resort. All of the staff were exceptional. We will return!"

  • "I am suspect of restaurants associated with hotels but this is a definite exception. I have eaten here in the past and was impressed. Being Christmas day there was not much open and I was willing to make allowances for this. The restaurant was very crowded and that did not raise my hopes. I was blown away however. They put on extra staff, had a prix fixe menu and a few other methods to handle the situation. My wife had a steak and I had sea bass. They both had excellent ingredients and were very well prepared. We were near the open kitchen and could see the organization and effort being brought forth. The whole experience was very nice and I would have to say I would certainly choose this restaurant on any day."

  • "There were two families one with a baby and the other with three 7 - 11 year olds and still the dining room was romantic. We had sea bass, halibut and salmon, all outstanding. The caesar salad and coffee were also good. The grounds are lovely for an after dinner stroll. We will go back, and SOON."

  • "Located in the Miramonte Resort and Spa, this is low keyed restaurant with excellent food and service and a fair price. The steak was one of the best we have had in the desert. The halibut was very tasty and well prepared. Good selection of choices for dinner. There are a variety of sides and very tasty."

  • "I invited my girlfriend for her birthday. Food and service was excellent. And we were suprised with a yummy chocolate lava mini cake for dessert!!"

  • "This particular day, (Sunday November 10, 2013) this restaurant staff simply was not on the ball. I chose this place for a patio brunch to celebrate 26 years of marriage to my bride. When I made the reservation, I clearly asked to be greeted with a warm Happy Anniversary. It did not happen, nor did it happen throughout the entire dining experience. To make matters worse....the service was not efficient or attentive at all. My wife's omelette was presented so well done, that I could have used it as a frisby, Literally. The only positive for this experience was the well maintained views of the gardens off the patio. I have NEVER written a formal review about a dining experience. However, this experience was so bad, I could not ignore it."

  • "Not up to our expectations since we were having lunch at 2-3 PM. Halibut was dry; waiter suggeste I might prefer the Risotto to the Ravolio--NOT! Will be back again, but only if it is the correct time to eat; then we get the real chef and not his substitute!"

  • "Although we have lived in the Coachella Valley for 10 years, this was our 1st visit to this restaurant. We can't wait to go back. The food was superb, service great and the ambience wonderful."

  • "the food was not bad but I would not say it was outstanding. what was really not acceptable was the lack of service...over 5 min to get menus...then no water...ignored by server..no bread plates supplied..server lacked knowledge about wine list and didn't ask for help. not acceptable."

  • "Grove Artisan Kitchen was just as good as we remembered. An outside table on a mild evening, overlooking the mountains. Our server allowed us to enjoy our cocktails as requested, before taking our order. If you are sitting inside, then you can see the open kitchen and the chefs preparing everything. Food excellent - highly recommended."

  • "The Miramonte never stops trying to get better - and they have succeeded! We had lunch with friends and everyone's meals were fantastic! The new table settings are elegant too! We ordered a hamburger, wedge salad, duck spring rolls and the cobb salad. All were gourmet and absolutely perfect in every way! Well done Miramonte!"
