We had some friends from the city
come into visit. Party of 6. we had a nice table at the end and we enjoyed our evening. Food was very good and the service was good also. Appetizers took a bit long to come out but opther than that everythng was excellent. Valet parking and easy access to bridge and overall area a plus. don't hesitate to go to this place."

Dinner Highlights: Black Truffle
Risotto & Pasta Bolognese The food was perfectly authentic Italian. The pasta and risotto tasted clean and light. You can tell the pasta is made fresh. The taste came mainly from the quality of the kitchen and not from any butter/oil. This is quintessential Italian cooking, hard to find in New Jersey. They have a great wine selection all from Italy, and the servers are experienced and relaxed. They don't try to hard to impress but deliver in every way. Conclusion: Grissini does not try to be anything it is not. A perfect balance of comfort and elegance with no pretentious attitude. It is a classy Italian restaurant with great service, food, and ambiance. That's it!"

One of the best Italian
restaurants in Bergen County"

Ok local gem if you don't want to
drive to Manhattan."

Retains its place as a classy
upscale Italian restaurant. First went there almost 30 years ago and it was great then. Hasn't changed much...service and food remain top-notch, prices are a little more than other local spots but then you are probably getting what you pay for. Over the bar area now there is a very big screen TV for sports fans but it does not disturb those in the main dining areas."

This is my favorite restaurant in
Northern New Jersey. I have gone there on special occasions, Saturday nights, New Years Eve. The food is is always excellent, especially the home made pasta and sea food. The Dover sole, my favorite dish, is always fresh and cooked to perfection. The service is great. Best pick on this side of the Hudson. I highly recommend it."

We eat at Grissini fairly often
but found it to be quite disappointing this past Sunday evening. Once again the menu has changed, prices are higher, portions smaller, wine list offers very few reasonably priced choices. Service was very slow but that was alright since we were relaxing over red wine but when my main dish finally arrived it wasn't what I ordered and when they corrected the mistake, the pasta dish I asked for was missing the mushrooms so even on a second try they got it half wrong!!! The maitre d was made aware and nicely apologized and comped my main. We'll return but not with the enthusiasm we used to have for Grissini."

Enzo and Michael were the best!
Not only funny But very welcoming"

Grissini"s always delivers with a
varied menu that should please everyone. The service was attentive and the food very tasty. The restaurant is odd shaped with a small quiet front area,a narrow main area and a quiet ,but a little dark back room."

Drinks and appetizers were fine
but things fell apart after our entrees were served. I had halibut which was fine but my husband's veal was tough. He never sends anything back but would have told our waiter if we had seen him again BEFORE our plates were cleared for coffee. When he did reappear I told him about the veal and his lack of attention and he said he was sorry but he was busy. He offered a "free" dessert which wasn't what I was looking for but a nice gesture. We have always had good food prior to this evening."

The food was delicious. The
service was fantastic. Wait staff were extremely pleasant, very attentive and accommodating."
Dined on 12/23/2013
The food is great and the service
is friendly. However, my waiter did not understand different wines have different vintages and one vintage can be great, while another not so much. The GM mad up the difference by offering a more expensive vintage for the same price."

I haven't been to one of my
favorites in awhile. Recent improvements include a new chef , interesting cocktail list at the bar (though they don't have all the ingredients ) and a solid use of truffles across the menu . The food was excellent . My only complaint is the ridiculous mark up on the wines . You can eat in the city and pay less for the same choices . For example silver oak was twice what it is at any comparable level in fine dining . The menu is expensive as is without having to bang people over the head for wine . If they are going to charge astronomical amounts at least have some sid choices in the 50 to 100 range - there's hardly anything inusing white !"

Just a short note to compliment
Grissini's Restaurant for the excellent food and wonderful service. I have written about this restaurant before and my opinion has not changed. The food is excellently prepared, the wait staff professional and courteous and the Maitr'D, Enzo friendly and efficient. No haughtiness here! A great evening for Italian dining."

Seated opposite the kitchen
corridor access was the beginning to a noisy crowded non-romantic eating experience. Trying to have a conversation in the bar area was next to impossible. Although the food was decent, everything else was average at best. This restaurant tries to create the feeling of it being the "Only game in town." Believe me, it's not."

I have been visiting Grassini for
the past 5 years, and I have never been disappointed. The food is always prepared properly and there's never any disappointing surprises. Great intimate spot for the occasional business lunch. On my most recent visit ordered the tuna steak. It was prepared to perfection. If you haven't been, put Grassini on your list of places you have to try. Great food, reasonable prices. Now all you need is the right company to join you."

My husband and I travel quite a
bit and are very particular. On this visit, our meal was outstanding and as good as the best restaurants in Italy. We are going back this week."

We have lived in Bergen County for
38 years and just visited Grissini's last week. The GM is a long time friend from a NY restaurant, and treated us like family. The food is truly exceptional and the service is better than most NY restaurants. Although the noise level is a little loud in the bar area, you can comfortably chat and enjoy the experience. The menu is incredibly extensive and the waiters can speak intelligently about the items. This is rare in today's world. The portions are larger than I expected and both meals were cooked and presented perfectly. Grissini has redefined how good Italian food is prepared and presented."

Wanted to try Grissini for some
time and left disappointed. Ordered Chicken Sorrentio (chicken breast covered by prosciutto, eggplant and fresh mozzarella). It had an odd taste similar to freezer burn and the cheese must have been melted on the plate as the chicken was swimming in a greasy liquid. Would have sent it back if not with a client and can only guess that something went wrong in the kitchen. Also found the noise level to be distractingly loud for a business lunch. The pros include the the interior decor which is very warm and quite charming. The staff were expertly attentive. The packed parking lot indicates that my experience may have been a statistical outlier and I will think about trying the restaurant again."

needed a local spot for a special
celebration among friends. perfect spot. good selections and lovely service. no rushing, not crowded and yummy lobster salad. good breat...too good. just enough food for ladies who lunch"

First came the impressive bread
basket. i love it when a restaurant starts off on the right foot by serving fresh italian bread and breadsticks. Shared a rigatoni bolognese appetizer size and it was delicious. The pasta was cooked to perfection and gravy had a nice flavor. Then our salad came which was also very good. My salmon entrees served with squash was superb. My friend had the lamb chops. It was a generous sized portion and he said were also savory. For dessert we had ricotta cheesecake. Homemade so I need say no more! Wine list extensive and we enjoyed a bottle of Tignanello."

with very good food. Can be costly."

We frequently dine at Grissini's
and are generally very pleased with the restaurant's food, ambiance and service however this past Sunday evening was quite disappointing.....our waiter barely had a personality and spoke as few words as possible, he did not apologize for the very slow service even though the restaurant was not crowded as usual, we were given a small plate of cheese/salami after our mains were brought and usually that comes at the beginning, with drinks.....in general a less than impressive dinner experience."
Dined on 7/15/2013
This was our first time at
Grissini. The kitchen is out in the open in a passageway between two large dining rooms, and we were seated right in front of it. The ambiance therefore was not terrific. Our waiter made some excellent menu suggestions, but he spent too much time describing the food and being (rather excessively) solicitous to us. We were there to visit with each other, not him. Having said all that, the food was marvelous. We all loved our dishes and although expensive, it was worth it."
Dined on 7/14/2013
Never again! The food was
overpriced and fair at best; the service was mediocre to poor; and the owner and staff were rude and unpleasant. I don't have one good thing to say about this restaurant and will never go back again. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone."

Perfect, upscale North Jersey
Italian... food served hot and seasoned to perfection. Great clientele to nosh with."
Dined on 1/23/2013
Been here a few times before and
when it's busy service can be sub-par. Late night with my girlfriend (aka. Wife) was a great escape that we both enjoyed. Everything was very good and we'll definitely be back."
Dined on 5/18/2013
Way too expensive and the food is
no better than other italian restaurants."
Dined on 5/16/2013
we reserved for 6 people on
Mother's Day at 645p only to learn our concert began 730p. We phoned and the manager instantly changed our reservations to 530p ON A HOLIDAY....to accomodate our needs. Food and service were beyond compare and the ladies each received a beautiful complimentary white rose!! Cannot say enough positive about this restaurant - will return as often as possible,"
Dined on 5/12/2013
Although their food was good, we
will not be returning. The wait staff was "angry". We did not feel welcomed. When my dinner was "served", our waiter actually threw a lemon wedge on my plate! He was standing about 6 feet away!"
Dined on 5/9/2013
The food here was good but I would
never go back based solely on the service. My entire table felt neglected the entire time. There was never a smile from any of the servers, no one ever offered us a wine list, and no one offered us bread or olive oil to start even through ever other table around us had it. From the moment we walked in and saw the hostess to the moment we gave our ticket to the valet, not one person on staff was pleasant."
Dined on 4/19/2013
I LOVE the food at this place. The
pastas are amazing, the food is always fresh and the owner of the restaurant and a few other people are nice. My only complain is that service is usually the worst I have ever had in my life. After spending more than 100 bucks at least you expect normal service. They are rude, mean, awful. They are always the same people, so I keep coming back and keep getting the same rude attitude, and the same great food. They don't understand that you are paying them, to serve you. I've been to many restaurants in NYC so I know what mean people is about, but these people are out of this world"
Dined on 3/16/2013
Very noisy. Our table was too
close to the kitchen. Lots of pots and pans clanging and the door to the kitchen swinging open and closed. The food is good but the prices are a little high."
