The ice tea was good....but when served the ice was almost melted. I asked for more ice and the server brought more ice in a glass. But the refills were the same.....little ice. I know you want the tea to be fresh.....but perhaps making it the night before, and refrigerate for the next day, would have it very cold when served. Thanks !

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Grillfish on Saturday - pistachio crusted mahi mahi was great as was the mixed grill and the crab cake. Our little one enjoyed the kids menu. Fun ambience - very attentive service. The only challenge is street parking as all the nearby garages seem to be closed on Saturdays - we lucked in to a spot on the street a few blocks away but beware you need to plan time to hunt for a spot... We'll be back!

I ate at the restaurant on August 22 2014. I had the seafood chowder, calamari and crab cake. The seafood chowder had little seafood to be found and hardly even had the flavor of seafood. The calamari was soggy and the dipping sauce tasted like diced tomatoes with no flavor a real disappointment for $20. The crab cake tasted good, but for $16 they brought me one 2 1/2 inch diameter crab cake with nothing else. Way overpriced. There are alot of really good seafood places in DC this place is not one of them. Overall experience was a big disppointment.

This was my first visit to Grillfish. I selected it for a dinner party of 7 so I was nervous by choosing it through the reviews. Well, I loved it and so did my guests. Based on the reviews, I asked for Bubba as our waiter. The service was great. The food was delicious. Since we had a large party, we selected a number of the starters, entrees and desserts. I am a dessert person and the creme bruleed cheesecake was yummy.

I've always really liked Grillfish, it's near my work. This was my first time having brunch there. The oyster, which are what we came for, were delicious as were the mimosas. I did wish they had a little more variety to their brunch items but it was all really tasty and I enjoyed my food very much and was very glad to be able to order brunch so late in the day (that's one of the reasons we decided on Grillfish).

Went with a party of 5 for a Sunday evening dinner in August, the night before DC Restaurant Week began. We were pleasantly surprised when told that Grillfish was celebrating Restaurant Week all month, rather than just one week. Everything on the menu was included, although we were told that some items would have up-charges. The food was attractively presented and delicious. Wine list was well-chosen and prices were reasonable. We will dine there again.

Unfortunately, I was still associating this restuarant with the Grillfish in Miami, FL. This is no longer the case and while it was ok - it certainly was not the Grillfish of old. I can't say it was misleading...I should have probably done more homework to find out that this restaurant was going to look or taste nothing like the Grillfish it used to be. The price points were a bit on the high end - but they didn't match the quality of the food.

We were seated promptly on arrival at a comfortable table. Our server was great--attentive, knowledgeable and helpful about suggesting specials and promotions (including an attractively-priced tasting menu they were piloting). Fish chowder was served hot and well-stocked. Shrimp scampi arrived cooked perfectly in a creamy, garlicky sauce. They also had an extensive drinks menu--including an addictive and hard-to-find ginger beer. Would recommend highly, and will surely return.

Great food, but the table staff can really use a lesson in 'reading the table.' Multiple times in the dinner you will be interrupted - no matter how engrossed in conversation you may be - to answer the banal "and how is everything/the soup/entree/wine/etcetera." An unprofessional, repetitive, break-in onto a great evening. That said, good food in all courses.

I had their raw oysters during happy hour. This was my first time eating at this restaurant, and I did not eat seafood or poultry the entire week until that day. 5 hours later, I was clutching my stomach in the bathroom due to food illness. Although service was good and the cooked food was great, I would not recommend the raw oysters.

Thought this place had a nice food offering for lunch. The vegetables are from a local farm in southern MD run by the owners of the restaurant, so it made the selections taste even fresher! My friends had fish and thought the food was perfectly prepared and seasoned. The food amounts were on the small side, we all left thinking we would be hungry an hour or so later. So make sure you ask for the bread to go along with your entrée or salad. The sauce which came with the various dishes and the salad dressing were fantastic, flavorful with the right amount added to the dish or salad and tasted very fresh.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. And this visit was the only visit that was a bit disappointing to be honest. The waiter tried his best but had trouble or did not try hard enough with accimidating with the food subsitutions like if someone was lactose or on a clean eating diet. And the lobster omelet wasn't so great. I'm sorry this is my first okay experience here at grillfish. I've been here many times and they all have been thrilling experiences and food was amazing!!! But this past Sunday it was so unlike grillfish. Just being honest.
