A word from Grille One Sixteen-Carrollwood
Grille 116 is a "Freshly Elevated" dining experience from culinary concept, practice, and customer service; wrapped in a "CHIC" and "METROPOLITAN" atmosphere. The menu is "American Contemporary" and extraordinary. All of the steaks are organic and 100% Hormone Free. Our fish is locally caught or flown in to provide you with the freshest seafood available.
Grille 116 is large enough to create energy and atmosphere, yet small enough to provide superior food quality and superior service. Try a few of our guest favorites: Our signature pretzel bread-twisted golden brown and steamy from the oven with accompaniments. The bread is irresistible; you"ll need seconds! Cubes of beautiful tuna are laced with chili sauce and piled on delicate fried won tons in Grille 116's tartar. Beef and grouper sliders, perfectly seasoned and incredibly moist, with pickles and fancy mayo transforming the interior of the doughy bun into a glorious combination reminiscent of amped-up White Castles.

Diner Reviews
  • "The atmosphere is a chic-urban laid back feel. The food was excellent, from the house salad to the seafood combo with a 4oz side filet. My wife ate the sea bass and loved it. We thought the light-up menus were cool and tech savvy! The service was top-notch as well. No matter who the server was that was passing by, they took our empty plates, replaced our utensils and filled our waters. Great awareness and initiative! We're local here in Tampa and will be going back in the future to try other dishes."

  • "They grill the steaks on a wood oak grill. I must have been there to early and the steak was VERY OAKY!, Ate there before and was good but today not so much."

  • "Great ambiance! Be prepared for a pricey menu, but a great place to go for happy hour drink and hors d'ouvres which you can make a meal out of! Save room for the donuts as your dessert. They're off the charts!"

  • "I was in town on business and needed a place to take prospective clients to lunch. The client recommended Grille One Sixteen and I was happy with their choice. I highly recommend the Calamri Strips. The Reuben wasn't bad. Service and atmosphere were great. I would definitely go back if in the area again."

  • "This was our first time dining here for dinner. We each ordered a steak entree and appetizer salad as starters. Waiting for the salads to be served, we caught the attention of the manager in the dining room and asked if there was any breadsticks or bread being first time diners. He replied that the restaurant did not serve bread, but that he would bring us a loaf of pretzel bread. Shortly, after the salads were served the bread arrived. Later, when the check was delivered a $5 charge appeared for the bread. The bill was paid without complaint. Yet after having spent over $75 on dinner, we felt it was a bit too 'nickel & dime'! If you need to charge for a small loaf of bread, then inform your diners in advance that it's an appetizer item!"

  • "From the service to the food, this was an overall great experience. It has that New York/LA feel to it. The service was fast and the food was delicious. The food was so great that we savored every last bite. If you are looking for a place to dine and wine a date, family or friends without the very expensive prices. This is it."

  • "My boyfriend, friend and her husband went to Grill One Sixteen in Carrollwood during Valentine's Day weekend. We had a great time. The ambiance was excellent. Our waiter was outstanding. The hostess was very friendly. The food was good. Nothing special and a little expensive but good. Each couple was provided with a complementary desert to share. A decadent chocolate cheese cake. The lights are dimly lit which set a nice mood for a romantic evening or special occasion. We set in a cozy booth which gave us a nice feeling of seclusion. The restaurant is fairly small too which increases the feeling of intimacy. We had a greet evening and would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend."

  • "Had a great meal with outstanding drinks on valentines day. I will defently be coming back with friends."

  • "Likely my fault for venturing out on Valentine's Day, but the experience was a disappointment. Upon arrival, the hostess staff looked frazzled. Not much of a warm greeting. Our initial table was in a make shift area likely used for storage on a normal night. My husband asked and we were quickly moved to the dining room. Server was pleasant and mostly helpful and cocktails were great. I ordered the strip and was served a ribeye. Finally my strip steak came out, but was drastically under-cooked. I let it go as I was ready to end the experience. My husband ordered sea bass and it was tough and fishy. He changed his order to a strip as well and his was overcooked. Our side of grits were cold and flavorless."

  • "The interior of this restaurant is lovely......very classy and modern. Servers have always been excellent and very attentive. We have only gone to lunch here which we enjoy, but menu is somewhat limited. Food is very good though and would be a very nice place to dine in the evening especially for a special occasion."

  • "A good friend is leaving for the west coast and we chose Grill One Sixteen for a quiet farewell dinner. Service was excellent, drinks and wine just right and the food was fresh, tasty, and of ample portion. A great atmosphere, and not one that I would expect to find in Carrollwood. The lighting is appropropriately dim, and the lighted menus are a life/eye saver. A wonderful farewell dinner"

  • "Been to Grille One Sixteen several times and the experience keeps getting better and better! The food is absolutely outstanding, I have had the Diver scallops, Chilean sea bass and the salmon. All equally delicious. The bar is a fun place to sit and very comfortable, we even decided to remain there for dinner one night rather than go to our table. Bottom line, great food, beautiful ambiance and excellent service."

  • "Try Grille One-Sixteen if you're looking for restaurant with great ambience, privacy and outstanding steaks. You may not get the frou frou treatment like a Flemings or Ruth Chris, but the price is right and food is great. Wait staff are very accommodating and let us linger far longer than we were supposed to. Will definitely be back again."

  • "Great food, service, and friendly.Good variety of steaks and seafood. After a dozen visits we still luv going here. I prefer going here vs most higher end restaurants in the bay area because I've never had a bad experience. Lunch is very reasonable and the food is great. Luv their burgers."

  • "We wanted to try a new restaurant for New Year's Eve dinner and this restaurant did not disappoint. The ambiance inside is comfortable yet modern, the menus glow as you open them, the house salad is great, the ribeye was perfect and the service was too! If you get dessert, get the donuts. They are just awesome, light yet sweet. The price is on par with any upscale restaurant. We can't go on a regular basis but we will definitely go back for a special occasion."

  • "This is one of my top favorites and I was sadly disappointed on New Year's Eve. The music was a little loud. I ordered the Sea Bass and added the Spinach and Crab topping which was extra. There was no crab in it!! I felt like we were being rushed out the whole time. Not sure I will go back."

  • "This is a great place to go for lunch as the restaurant design is fantastic. The food is also excellent and when you go for lunch, you can enjoy the ambience without the noise level that can rise considerably during the dinner hour. Order the donuts as they are worth the trip alone."

  • "Food was good. Had the snapper & it was tasty. Wine list was lacking & server wasn't very helpful with selection. Mixed drinks are a fortune. Prices of mixed drinks aren't listed on the menu so ask for the price before you order. It was happy hour, but drink selections are limited. The donut desert was awesome. My wife loved them. Overall, if you're in Tampa and looking for a unique dining experience, there are other places around town to try."

  • "Dinner reservation was at 4:00 pm on Christmas eve. We asked for a both but were told that the boths were all reserved for their customers for later dinner reservations that night. During the time we were there, no one was seated in any booth and other customers who arrived were also seated at tables out of the way of the main restaurant area. Restaurant is very overpriced for what you get. Cocktails were twice the price charged in other high end Tampa restaurants. They serve no bread but you can purchase a "pretzel loaf" for $6.00. Portion of salmon they served for the price had to be less than 8 oz. I don't mind smaller portions being served but it would be good to adjust the prices accordingly. I would not go there again for a "dinner"."

  • "I've been to Grille 116 several times now, and it has the best filet I've ever had, outside of Kobe, Japan. It's a tad on the pricey side, but for a special occasion, it's my all-time favorite place!"

  • "The place is happening in both the bar scene and for fine dining. Service is always excellent and attentive. A tad pricey but you get what you pay for. It's not quite the super high end like Ocean Prime but runs a close second as a cut above so many hyped up restaurants in Tampa area."

  • "This weekend we had yet another perfect dining experience at Grille One Sixteen (Carrollwood). I was celebrating a new job and we wanted a place with ambience, great food and excellent service. Once again, Grille One Sixteen did not disappoint. We started with apps of bacon and ceviche. Both were fantastic. Then we moved on to the surf n' turf special and the Chilean Sea Bass with the chef recommended spinach & crab topping. Oh my goodness! We were in Food Heaven! We finished it all off with a few donuts and coffee...and my Grey Goose Cosmo was the best I've had in ages, perfectly icy! Our server, Dominic, was exceptional. He provided outstanding service without being intrusive. He perfectly intuited our every need."

  • "We were out-of-towners looking for a special place to celebrate our son's 20th birthday. We took a chance by booking a reservation at a place we were completely unfamiliar with but boy, we were pleasantly surprised! Upon arrival at the restaurant we had some reservations about how the place would measure up to our expectations (we had viewed the menu and prices online so had some high expectations) since it was located on an outparcel of a busy strip center. As soon as we walked in the door we were intrigued by the decor and the vibe of the place. Our server was attentive and personable and the quality of the food exceeded our expectations. I would definitely recommend Grille One Sixteen without reservation."
