The group started off eating in the dining room and had a nice meal of chicken liver parfait, scallops, beef bourguignon, and others. The flavors were very nice, and plates were put together well. We heard some piano music afterwards and ventured into the bar area. It was a very energetic and fun sing-a-long at the piano, but the singers had quite a bit of talent. Rosen, the bartender, was great and made some darn good drinks. Alfred Street Alexandria, Virginia. From the beginning when i pressed the button for the butler to take my car. We were greeted by a woman who was really nice. We we directed to the Dining area which was done in period taste. Our server was very knowledgable and very nice. My wife and I choose the 7 course, of which was wonderful. The presentation was out of this world. We had never had a seven course before so it was a new experience. My daughter did not want to eat that much. Over all I give it an outstanding reccomendation. We love high tea and The Grille didn't disappoint. The main items were all delicious and plentiful. There was a great selection of teas and lots of help in choosing what would please our palates. Like any good tearoom, if you don't like the tea they will replace it. Then came the out of this world sweets. It's hard to pick a fav but I'd have to say the white chocolate covered gooseberries. This was such a relaxing time and it was made even more enjoyable by our outstanding waiter, James. He's a clever and charming Irishman who serves one heck of a tea.
