Diner Reviews
  • "Friday night and the place was hopping. Great special for the night was pot roast. Always fun with terrific food!"

  • "First time at Grill 401. The bar was so over loaded that it took too long to order a second round of cocktails. The server apologized and handled it well. The manager apologized and comped our round of drinks. This was the right thing to do. It was appreciated very much."

  • "It is a Los Olas favorite Music downstairs is to loud for intimate dining upstairs. But downstairs is a happening place Excellent steaks! Yum"

  • "We went on a Friday night and the crowd was at least 5 deep. The noise level was extreme and on top of that there was live music! Luckily we had a table upstairs which helped considerably. What we ordered was excellent. I would go back but probaby for lunch. The new outside terrace bar is beautiful."

  • "This was a welcome surprise. The place was jumping, service was good, and the food was, as well. Live music and friendly staff. Nice when you're looking for a fun night out with friends."

  • "A must try is the Steak and Blue Salad - it's awesome!"

  • "I enjoyed dining at Grille 401. It was the first time I had dinner there although I had enjoyed appetizers there before. Fair prices for food and wine considering the location. Overall I would definitely return. Portions were a little smaller than I would have liked, but a total rating of 4 out of 5 stars indicating I would return or recommend it even to my foodie buddies and critics. Good flavors and not pretentious."

  • "We've dined half a dozen times here and always been so pleased with the creative delicious appetizers such as the fantastic crispy crab to the entrees and yummy side dishes. Service always very good . Elegant surrounding and quiet for conversation. Just wish fine dining in general would offer specials on drinks too where everybody takes too much profit."

  • "The evening was perfect from the pre dinner drink at the bar to the dessert after dinner. Our server Ryan, was one of the best servers we have ever had. We started with the FORBIDDEN LOBSTER ROLL with a market price of $20. It was delicious and contained at least 1/2 a lobster in it. Then we ordered the SEASONAL SOUP which was Pasta Fagiole. Fresh garden veggies and the broth was great. Main courses were the BONE-IN RIBEYE 16 OZ....Outstanding flavor and a TUNA BURGER that was tender and superb. For dessert the homemade KEY LIME PIE was just tangy enough to never want to stop eating it. The prices were average for the neighborhood and for a special evening it was certainly a memorable night."

  • "First tine there and it was very nice not as quiet As I would like it not as low key. Food was great."

  • "Great food, the Kobe beef sliders were excellent and so was the red snapper, but also a nice, cheap!, wine list. Loved it."

  • "Slow start for Grille 401....but since the renovation to add the bar up front, and the outdoor perimeter dining areas, also seems the food has gotten much better...love the beet and goat cheese salad and the roasted 1/2 chicken is great...the bread pudding should not be missed. Very good service, and welcoming by hostesses."

  • "It was under construction and we sat in the back right by the kitchen. Food was good though."

  • "First time going to Grille 401 - Hostess greeted and accomodated our group as some were running late. Very energetic area for happy hour. Our waiter Mike was more than awesome!!!!! I cannot even find the words to describe the service he rendered. He was attentive, pleasant but friendly, he gave recommendations for us to try, he was accomodating. We had a blast!!!"

  • "I had heard so many things about this being a hot spot so was excited to try it. Reservation process was great, friendly and helpful staff, nice atmosphere for hanging out or meeting up- however, the food was mediocre. I would return but only for a snack or cocktails not dinner. "

  • "Great food, great location and fantastic outdoor dining scene. The new open bar is inviting. The only complaint is they need more staff for both lunch and after hours. Service has been slow every time I've gone. "

  • "Went for the terrific Happy Hour Friday. GM Callum Molloy very gracious & attentive, as was our server. Enjoyed the Kobe Beef Sliders and Spinach & Artichoke dip. Generous drinks & portions for a Happy Hour, with live (quiet) music. So pleased, we returned for dinner Sunday night. Chef Troy's menu was awesome! His bio says his home town is New Orleans--which may explain my girlfriend's purring over his "NOLA" Shrimp entree. I ordered Prime Rib, perfectly Med. rare and excellent. Entrees come with a side--very unusual in a town where most places are ala carte. Please don't think I'm connected with this place--I was just stoked at experience and reasonably priced excellence."

  • "I wanted to check this place out for my anniversary and when i got there they seat me on the 2nd floor it as nice but way to noise for me the my fincey and I ordered as a app California Rolls they were decent and then we order dinner it was ok the lemonade has way to much sugar. "

  • "Food was very Good (tuna appetizer and Chilean sea Bass). Bar scene is vibrant, if you like to be looked at (I don't). It's a place to see and be seen. Live music was good too but loud for my taste. Upon request, they promptly got us a table away from the music where the noise level was low and we could carry a conversation without having to scream at each other. Must try their chocolate bread pudding. It's fantastic. I believe it is owned by the same group that owns Brimstone in Pembroke since the menu was very similar. However the concept in Pembroke is more family oriented. "

  • "Went to Grille 401 for a nice dinner with our parents from out of town was not disappointed. Luckily we ate upstairs where the music and noise from the downstairs bar was greatly muffled. Food, drinks, and service was great. Will definitely be back."

  • "Both the manager (Callum) and our waitress (Mariah) were very attentive. On fact, I saw that trait in most of the staff. The food was great. I'm usual here on a Friday or Sunday night. Friday is much more live. You won't be disappointed with Grill 401. "

  • "Over zealous waitress could not wait to take our order. We had just sat down Then after repeating the order she got it wrong so my tuna burger sat fr 5 minutes while the order was completed Out dishes kept being waked away The server can make or break a meal"

  • "We live in walking distance to Grille 401 and just decided (finally) to check it out. Well we were not disappointed! The space is beautiful, the service and food were excellent. We loved the DJ....he played great music and wasn't so loud that we couldn't carry on a conversation. We had some timing issues with getting our food (some unexpected large groups backed up the kitchen) but the management team and our server really made us feel like we were still important and did a great job of recovering the experience for us. We had a great time! And, I have to add that the sweet potato mash may be the best sweet potato mash my husband and I have ever had! Thanks again....we'll definitely be back! "

  • "Grille 401 is now the most happening spot on Las Olas Blvd. A Wednesday night and the place was packed. The new outside patio and bar is awesome and they had some great live music. They had a veal chop special last night that was terrific. Tell your friends - it's the place to be!"

  • "With the remodel. 401 always had a nice bar scene, this is the one of the better finds on Las Olas. Good food and an even better bar staff. This is one of our favs to bring out of town guests."

  • "Seated at 7:30. Salads came at around 8:00. One salad had two bugs in it. Spoke to manager who apologized. Asked for extra dressing for caesar salad and never got. Asked where dinner was at 9:00. Manager apologized. Dinner came after 9. 1 Prime Rib was veiny, stringy and tough. Manager apologized. Comped one salad and one prime rib. Said we would get free desserts. Bill came before any desserts. Desserts never came. We have been here numerous times and the last two times were not very happy. We brought new people here this time and they would never return. We feel we should have had more than just one meal and salad comped as the manager came over and felt the need to apologize three times during the course of one meal."

  • "The food is good as always and the new out bar and live music is awesome. They appear to be having some growing pains as service was lackluster and not up to par although the hostess worked to make it right."

  • "This place was not on my radar for several months when they first opened. It seemed quiet and in a non-descript location. But that has all changed. With the addition of an indoor/outdoor bar and outdoor seating, this place is ALIVE. The night we went they featured live music (a bit loud for a restaurant of this quality) and the bar was packed. I have never been disappointed by the food. It is the only place I will order prime rib - outstanding. We have always had excellent service - this time was no different - even with a relatively new server. The interior is gorgeous. I kind of miss the "quiet" dinners we used to have, but Las Olas is changing and they are keeping up with the demand."
