Grey Gables InnAlways a winner!!From the gracious host Chuck, to our wonderful waitress Pam, to a great chef, as well as owner, Darren Romano this has to be one of the finest restaurants in Northern MI. I highly suggest reservations, especially in July and August, as they are very popular! Exceptional prime rib, as well as local fish and farm to table specialties.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this restaurant! OneLove this restaurant! One of the best in northern Michigan! We have been going there for years and the consistency is amazing! We have recommended to a club in the area to model this restaurant!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFine dining in CharlevoixWe had a lovely dinner at Grey Gables. The salmon is especially delicious, but all the food was excellent, and the service was thoughtful and attentive. A great choice for a special dinner.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst ClassThe food and service are impeccable! The bar is first class. Drinks are never watered down. You will not be sorry.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden gem!As we were not from this area, we got lucky and found this place on the web. My wife really enjoyed her whitefish while I wanted prime rib, it was sold out by 6:30 although it was a week night. My next choice was filet which was very enjoyable. We capped it off with the chocolate creme puff. Save room for this dessert.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Anniversary DinnerSet in a Victorian house, the presentation was beautiful, tables were adequately spaced and interior decor was very eye-appealing. The service was prompt and friendly. We had the early fixed price special and the food was well displayed and tasty. Salads were large and varied and the bread basket included very flavorful scones in addition to the hot and mouth-watering bread. For the entrees, the stuffed chicken was especially good. The dessert for two was big enough to feed four. Magnificent ending to a great meal.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was delicious and veryFood was delicious and very well presented. Excellent service. Not your standard brunch fare - the selection was large and diverse. The roasted turkey was divine, and I'm still thinking about the pulled pork and polenta. Excellent staff and service. Very attentive and helpful. I made last-minute reservations for Easter brunch and received a warm welcome. Highly recommended.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Easter Brunch.Just two of us for Easter Brunch. Had not been to the Inn before, as we are new to the area. The brunch was delicious. We will return.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMA good Place to eat in CharlevoixEveryone at our table was happy. The Friday night prime rib was the reason two of us were there and it didn't disappoint. We eat there about once a month. Be sure to sign up for the birthday discount! The waitress was appropriately solicitous and knowledgeable. It can be noisy there, but this time was not very busy - it's a slow time of year.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThis has beena favorte forThis has beena favorte for us for many years. We love the atmosphere in this Victorian Inn and our server was awesome. We've had Peter serve us the last 5 0r 6 times we've been there. We were disappointed in our steaks as they were overdone. It was still tasty meat but my husband and I don't like our steaks cooked that much. This put a damper on our evening!!!!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth the trip! The mushroom bisque is amazing! The service was excellent, and our server was very knowledgeable about the items on the menu. The desserts were excellent - the Sanders ice cream puff was beautiful and tasty, and the almond creme brulee was very good. It is definitely worth the 1+ hour drive for us!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice New Years Eve. WasVery nice New Years Eve. Was very busy & everything was hot, promptly served & very well presented. Server Peter was very fun.12/31/2012 12:00:00 AMThis is one of our very favoriteThis is one of our very favorite restaurants, we are lucky to have such a place in our small town!12/31/2012 12:00:00 AMDecember 26, 2012 We hadDecember 26, 2012
We had a party of six; we were greeted and seated immediately upon our arrival at the restaurant at our specified reservation time. Our server could not have preformed better and provided us with a delightful dining experience. We were seated just off the entrance in view of the Christmas tree and fireplace. The holiday decorations were beautiful and suited the age and décor of this vintage restaurant.
Our first course of salads included the lettuce wedge, tomato & mozzarella, and house salad all of which were very fresh and the homemade dressing were very tasty as well. Our entrées included the whitefish stuffed with crab, prime rib, leg of lamb and butternut squash ravioli, all of which were perfectly prepared, nic12/26/2012 12:00:00 AM
