A word from Greg's Grill
Owners Greg & Teresa Hubert opened Greg's Grill in the spring of 2007. Their long history in the restaurant industry and passion for excellent service and great food led them to create a beautiful restaurant that reflects their high standards and attention to detail.
Situated in the heart of the historic Old Mill District of Bend Oregon, Greg's Grill sits amidst the bustle of movie theaters, art galleries and restaurants.
A lively place for any occasion, it offers a variety of foods with an emphasis on contemporary Northwest cuisine to include rotisserie prime rib, choice-cut steaks, seafood, and chicken cooked to perfection over our apple-wood and mesquite fired grill.
Inside, Northwest style architecture utilizes natural materials and floor-to-ceiling windows, which overlook beautifully landscaped patios, the Deschutes River and the Cascade mountain range. Greg's Grill is a comfortable place to sit and enjoy good times with friends and family.

While in Bend on business over the past 18 months, I've eaten at Greg's many times. Food has always been very good. On the last trip I had a flat iron steak that was cooked to perfection, just wish it had been a little bigger. My guests each had a different chicken dis, Chicken Picatta and Artichoke-Parmesan Chicken. Each of them really enjoyed the their meals as well. Even the Brussels Sprouts were good... and I don't like Brussels sprouts as a rule. Definitely would go back again.

We eat at Greg's several times a year. On this visit, we went with another couple on a Sunday night. I ordered flatiron steak; my husband ordered a burger--both to be cooked medium-well. Both were delivered "rare." It took a long time to find our server to let her know about the undercooking issue. The food was re-cooked, and we were offered a complimentary dessert. In the meantime, our dining companions had to eat their meals while we sat and waited.

My family and I went to Greg's hoping for a good dining experience and what we got out of it was an okay experience. We have been here before and have had a bad experience prior with Greg's. We were hoping after a year between visits we would give them another shot to see if things have changed. The pros: nice restaurant interior, pretty good ambiance, and the wait staff is nice (when they were around). The cons: the service was terrible, the food was overpriced and was okay, and the timing of how the food and drinks came was terrible. Greg's has been known to have terrible service but I couldn't believe how little we saw our waiter. They always seemed to be standing around talking among themselves. I wish I had more room to write.

Beautiful setting, and decor. Slow seating with tons of empty seats. Probably 15+ waiting to be seated, and 3 to 5 girls working the seating chart. Only guess was that they didn't have the staff to cover the empty tables. An employee told me they were straightening everything out as he passed by me. Service was excellent. My potato was served cool, as was my roast beef. We are locals. Have eaten here many times, but if it happens again, we won't be back.

A friend and I arrived about 10 minutes early for our reservation and were seated shortly after our reservation time (6:30). Our wait person arrived at our table shortly after we were seated and was knowledgeable and detailed. My friend and I both had the Top Sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Both the cocktails and food were excellent My steak, rare, had excellent flavor and was as tender as typical for top sirloin, although some gristle was beyond my cutting strength. The Brussel sprouts were a bit under-cooked. Our wait-person became involved in chatting with another table, but a sub-waiter eventually asked if we wanted dessert and then brought our check. Greg's Grill remains my "go to" place for a nice meal.

We have been to Gregg's several times and have always been pleased with both food and service. Last Saturday night was an exception. We took our guests to Gregg's after the Art Fair and although they were not busy, the entire experience was bizarre. Some usual items like their brie appetizer were not available. Our entrees came out before the salads so they took it back to the kitchen. It all came back a few minutes later - still much too soon. The steak was ok but the Chicken Picatta was just a thick hunk of chicken breast with capers on it. No imagination or presentation. We had selected Gregg's to show our guests a fine Old Mill District experience but it was less than impressive. We'll think twice about taking guests there again.

We had high expectations for this place and were pretty disappointed. The food was so-so, expected it to be better for the price. Our waitress was terrible, not nice, did t know what kind of whiskey she served my husband. I ordered a steak and was never given a steak knife and no one ever came to check on us to so I could get one. Cutting steak with a dinner knife doesn't rally work. Went to another resturauant on Saturday night that was awesome!

We were pleasantly surprised with the restaurant. Beautiful interior on the river. Our server was probably the best I have had. He was outgoing, friendly and very interested in making sure we had a great experience. Our meal was slightly delayed so he brought out soup for our table at their cost. While the restaurant, service and food are very nice. The outdoor reservation policy is very skeptical. I made the reservations through OpenTable in advance. I was directed to the restaurant for outdoor reservations. When we got there on time we were told there would be an hour wait. There were four tables available outside. We decided to eat inside rather than waiting. During our entire meal the outside tables never filled up?????

After a non stellar dinner about two weeks ago, we went back tentatively to try again. It was a home run. The poached pear, cranberry and hazelnut salad was exceptional. We are on weight watchers, so we had the six ounce flat iron steak, no starches but with double vegetables. The steaks were cooked perfectly, the asparagus was hot and cooked to a nice still crispy texture. We passed on the bread and compound butter. We're glad to report they're back on our Bend great list with a wonderful view, great service and wonderful food.

Visiting from the OC. We started out in the bar with a cocktail... then out to the patio to enjoy a lovely outdoor experience overlooking the Deschutes during sunset with some background music coming from the amphitheater across the river. The baked brie appetizer is a must...loved it and their daily special caprese salad was a good choice as well. And the chicken picatta was quite good, as was the salmon. Bon appetite!!! We'll definitely be back next time in Bend.

One of our favorite places to eat when we visit Bend. This time we both had flat iron steaks. Both were small. One was way under cooked, but not worth returning to the grill, as it had a tough piece of gristle running across the whole piece of meat. We asked to have no starch but double the veggies, they were done nicely, but small serving and the asparagus was prepped poorly with a couple of tough ends left on at the root end. The manager stopped by the table and asked how the meals were. We shared about the steak and he offered to comp dessert. We declined as we're on weight watchers and trying to be good. We're not giving up, and will try again next time we're in Bend.

Greg's has improved their food prep recently with more consistency. But this visit was not as good as they can do. Spare ribs as an appetizer were greasy and lacked any seasoning punch. Cobb salad without meat was missing a lot of the mexican style garnish promised, but was cold and crisp. Wait staff was great even though they were very busy. Know they can do better. Will return.
