  • "This is the best restaurant in San Francisco! I always feel healthy and happy after I eat there, and what could be better than that? The food is healthy and delicious. I have many food restrictions and the wait staff is always so kind about finding out exactly what is in each dish. Sitting and looking at the wonderful view while indulging in a fabulous feast that is good for me is a joy. And Skyler, the server, is wonderful! Good job, Greens!"

  • "I had gratin veggie dish and it was a disappointment. The veggie was wayy to soft and tasted bland. I have always come to Greens but that night i assumed something went wrong at the restaurant. The hostess (blonde girl) was jus arrogant. She was not clear about whether we could get a window seat table and leaving us seating for awhile."

  • "Although I have always enjoyed the food at Greens, I was disappointed with the poached egg dish I ordered for brunch this past Sunday. It was bland, watery and unmemorable--certainly not worth the $17 price paid for it, since we had to order bread (biscuits) separately. My husband did like his omelet a lot, and - in retrospect - I wish I had ordered a different dish. I think Greens should re-think this dish and the way that the veggies are cooked."

  • "Had Sunday brunch at the restaurant with my niece. My entree of scramble eggs, beans, scallion on corn tortilla was very tasty! The strawberry almond cake was also very delicious dessert! A very nice place for good food and beautiful views."

  • "I'm definitely pushing for making a trip to Greens with my group of friends for brunch an annual tradition :) The food was delicious, and the service was friendly. As a larger group, we ended up in the room further back, which surprised me, because I hadn't even realized there was dining space back there! Either way, everything was really nice--loved the sweet potato and arugula pizza, and the summer sampler plate has never steered me wrong :D"

  • "My grown daughter and I had a window table for brunch. Ambience - perfect! Service was actually faster than anticipated. I had the Ciabatta French Toast which was awesomely good. My daughter had the pesto pasta which she also enjoyed and I did not try, not wanting to corrupt the delicious sweetness and texture of my French toast. Her Pinot Noir would have been a better choice for my dish than my Chardonnay. I don't get to San Francisco from North Carolina often. Greens is a wonderful stop that I have followed since the '70's. It never fails to please and it is delightful to see the next generation(s) carrying my enthusiasm forward."

  • "Even though we're not vegetarians, we love coming to this restaurant and seeing how they make such wonderful dishes without the addition of meat and meat products. It's always so good, tasty and definitely innovative with the way in which they combine various vegetable ingredients to make one believe that it is all possible in the vegetarian world. Definitely worth coming here every time."

  • "Overall a magnificent dining experience. 1 suggestion for improvement: the Aquarium drink had too much thyme in it and not enough alcohol. Other than that, the food was absolutely delicious, service impeccable, view of the bay outstanding, etc. Great size portions. Pricey but worth it!"

  • "Great for non-vegetrians, I didn't miss the meat. The food tasted great. Service was lacking, but our waiter had a thick Irish accent that kept us from complaining too much. Perhaps if he had been a bit more attentive, he would have been able to get the last bottle of wine we had ordered before they sold out."

  • "From the rich, smooth vanilla rooibus tea to the last bite of our delicious vegan dessert, our visit to Greens was a lovely treat. Our Moroccan inspired carrot salad and couscous were elevated from mere side dishes to a mouthwatering punctuation to a delicious main event -- roasted tofu and veg brochettes with a coconut-based sauce, all on a skewer. While we could have wished for more vegan items on the menu, it was nice to have the whole menu from which to order. The best surprise of the night - the lime shining through in the raspberry crumble dessert. The sorbets are TO DIE FOR. To our surprise, there were no false notes, no food at which we could even so much as wrinkle our noses - it was all shockingly good. Win, win, win."

  • "My daughter is a vegetarian, so I thought it would be nice to go to a restaurant where she could pick ANYTHING on the menu. And GREENS did not disappoint! Everything we ordered was outstanding! You do not have to be a vegetarian to appreciate the quality of the food. We all loved everything we ordered! And the service was outstanding! Our waitress was so friendly and helpful and kind. She even called a cab for us at the end of the meal because it was dark and our hotel was a far walk from the restaurant. We had a wonderful view and even saw seals playing outside our window! I would say this is my favorite restaurant in San Francisco!"

We were a tad disappointed at the wait given that we had a reservation, but the rest of the experience was fantastic. I guess the previous guests didn't want to leave on time! I also was glad that we'd opted to use the paid parking lot, which was close to empty, for our day in San Francisco."

  • "We have dined at Green's several times in the distant past and were always charmed by the airy atmosphere, the food and the view. This time however it seemed a bit stale as if it needed an "uplift" of some kind. Sort of "resting on its laurels" without as much care taken with presentation and/or composition of the vegetarian cuisine. My bean soup instead of being a thick, subtle blend of thick consistency was a vegetable broth with a few beans and spinach. My husband's red wine was - as he said - a terrible, watery glass. My brochette was haphazardly put together and looked wilted. Sorry, because Green's has always stood for much more in our minds and affections."

  • "Dinner with out-of-town friends was mixed. Great appetizers and dessert, mixed review for entres: two were wonderful, two were nothing special. Nonetheless, I would return to Greens and be more analytical about choosing an entre. The service was friendly and attentive without being oppresive; the noise level was perfect as we had no problems hearing across the table; the atmosphere perfect with the sun setting behind the Golden Gate Bridge."

  • "My husband and I have been celebrating our wedding anniversary with dinner at Greens for several years now. We generally request a table by the window and we got it. The food as usual was delicious, well prepared and arranged. However, the choices this time was very limited. Also, the portion size of the appetizers was very small. The Spring Roll looked like like one roll was cut up into 4 tiny pieces. Also, we had to ask for the bread basket a few times before it was brought out. Still, overall nice place and we will consider coming again for special occasions"

  • "Absolutely exceptional food! Also, because we got lost trying to find the restaurant, persons at the restaurant were ultimately helpful in telling us how to get there. The waiting was engaging, courteous and helpful. We liked where we sat because while we might have liked a window seat, where we did have to sit because we came 30 minutes late for our reservation, was in a little alcove by ourselves: very helpful for my husband's hard-of-hearing and for just zoning out."

  • "The food and the service was amazing at Greens. On Saturday nights, diners are required to choose from a 4 course tasting menu. My friend and I ordered different dishes for each course and then shared everything so we'd get to try more items. The local cheeses were amazing, and the staff was so nice and friendly. They sat us by the window and we got to see the sun set over the Golden Gate Bridge. We even saw a cute little sea lion swim by while we were on our first course. The food is very good and showcases all local and fresh ingredients."
