We appreciated the quiet seating area in the rear sunroom, interesting, diverse buffet, and attentive beverage service by Sara. My Son's steak was the most bland I have ever tasted in a restaurant. No flavor at all. My halibut was good, not great. My wife's duck was good not great. My daughter's scallops were a disappointment. They did have flavor, but two scallops? She was still hungry after dinner.
Excellent service. But, when I spend over $300 for a dinner for 4, I expect better than average food. For less than half the cost of this dinner, I would receive far better food at many Boulder restaurants. We were delighted to find the ambiance as inviting and comfortable as it was then. The food is still excellent. Sometimes it is the little touches that make an evening extra special and that was certainly the case here. For example, the thin toasts for the pate were fresh, tender and delicious. The sorbet served between the courses was clearly homemade and delicious. My lower rating for last Saturday's dinner is due to the unfortunate timing - they had a private Prom going on upstairs, and it was very loud for anyone dining beneath them. The ceiling was literally bouncing above us and the light fixtures were shaking. We had to move tables, which helped, but it was just unfortunate. The food is excellent the service is wonderful. The wine list is extensive and the staff recommendations consistently surpass expectations.
