This is a fabulous restaurant. The food and service are outstanding. The dining room is beautiful and has windows viewing the garden. At night, the trees are lit with white lights and it is just gorgeous.

The food is expertly prepared and the menu is deliberately crafted to offer unique, interesting dishes that satisfy a discerning pallet. The lamb t-bone I ordered was prepared exactly as I asked and was delicious down to the last bite. Don't miss the table side Caesar salad done in the traditional method. The dressing is light and delicate as it should be. The wine selection is on par with expectations. The service left something to be desired for a restaurant of this caliber but they were clearly overwhelmed with a packed dining room I'm guessing they typically don't see on a normal Thursday night... Probably due to the First Bite Boulder promotion. I will definitely be going back

We were at The Greenbriar for Boulder First Bite and it was excellent. I had eaten there several times in the past, but my dining companion had not and greatly enjoyed the opportunity to sample one of Boulder's best restaurants. The menu selection was quite broad for the occasion, and portions were right-sized, leaving room for dessert without being stuffed. The pate to start the meal -- over and above what was offered on the First Bite menu -- was a nice touch. I had the lamb and my friend had the fillet. Both were beautifully prepared and presented, as were the accompaniments. The only flaw was the crust on the pumpkin tart -- more like a cracker than a flaky crust, but small matter. Great dining experience, start to finish

The restaurant was participating in First Bite Boulder - where many of Boulder's best restaurants offer 3 courses for $26/person. Consequently the restaurant was almost full, the service and food below their usual outstanding quality.

The food was great! The atmosphere was very romantic and cozy. We loved the Christmas lights and the remote location. Unfortunately, our waitress was so busy that we hardly had bread delivered to our table, asking for it twice. Normally, they are supposed to create the caesar salad tableside with all the ingredients, but they only brought out a the dressing and tossed it in front of us. We ended up pouring our own wine from our bottle. Just seems like with such an expensive restaurant the service could have been better. Overall the food was so good, we may consider going back.

I was very disppointed at the service. It was almost non-existance. We had to ask for more bread, water, etc. It took a long time to get our main course. I finally had to flag down the server and ask her what was going on. The meal portions were very small - the appetizer and dessert were basically one bite and the main course had small portions. $26 a meal is still a lot to pay - I expected more. I don't plan to go back - I was not impressed.

We went for the First Bite Boulder which offers a 3 course meal for $26. Even with these discounted prices, the Greenbriar staff was gracious and attentive. I picked the restaurant because they offered multiple entrees, starters and deserts which were imaginative and varied. Almost all of the choices the table made were up to par. I'll try to get back to the Greenbriar soon.

The Greenbriar Inn is one of my favorite 'special occasion restaurants'. There isn't any part of the dining experience that isn't 5-star - possibly six! The menu offers the most unique and delicious entrees I have ever tasted. But you must leave room for dessert - they are unbelievable. The Greenbriar Inn is a restaurant that is consistently wonderful no matter the occassion or the time. Their brunch is a treat for anyone and is also where we had our son's rehearsal meal (we had a Saturday brunch but this is apparently no longer being offered) I would recommend the restaurant for weddings,(they have photos in the front)rehearsal meals, brunches, dinner (extraordinary wine list) and their not-to-be-missed special dinner nights (you can get more information from the restraunt or online)

Wonderful as always. The pureed parsnip soup was to die for! The service was impeccable even though it was packed because it was a Saturday night and they had 2 large functions going on. I was concerned that the noise would be a problem from the large parties, but they have clever sliding doors to partition the room which were very effective in making our dinner cozy and quiet(ish). I don't normally have chicken when dining out, but the wild mushroom stuffed chicken was delicious, as was the creamed broccoli that went with it. Just make sure you save room for Bananas Foster for dessert - a table-side treat not to be missed.

We've been to the Greenbriar several times, and do not understand why it goes relatively unnoticed by foodies who visit or live in Boulder. The food is local, of top quality, prepared creatively and with flare, and in a beautiful setting. They grow most of their own veggies, and the chef has a wonderful touch with them, although meat is also featured. The wine list is extensive, with many well aged bottles, and very reasonably priced, something which seems rare in CO. On the whole, I would rate the Greenbriar as at least an equal with Frasca, and would say this is a place that would rate a 26 or 27 even in NYC or San Francisco.

The deserts were given to our party for free with no request from me. The service was that poor. I hope it was an off night.

My wife and I very much appreciated the creative menu and the extensive wine list. The wines were somewhat overpriced, but there was an excellent selection. My appetizer, a grilled vegetable Wellington was excellent. Unfortunately, my main course, the seafood selection of the day was overly salted, even for me who likes salt. My wife really enjoyed her Asian-style salmon. Dessert was a flourless chocolate cake. It was both delicious and well presented.

Disappointing. A special event occupied the main dining room and we were seated in a small upstairs dining room with few windows. The noise from the event was distracting. The wait staff was very good but the kitchen seemed unable to keep up. Our steaks were overcooked and courses were slow to come out of the kitchen. One item was not delivered at all (it was deducted from the check.)

I went there for my birthday and a table was set by the windows for us, all of the staff wished me a happy day, and I was given a rose along with my dessert. The wine I had was excellent and the food was unique. We went on a weekday so there were not many people there, making it very quite. I think that if you are looking for a new place to try dinning and want to enjoy a special occasion then you should try it. Just mention what you are celebrating when making your reservation and the staff will be certain to make your experience the best that it can be.
