Great Vegeterian FoodThis was our first time to this restaurant. We had made reservation for Tuesday evening, we were seated promptly.
I would definitely recommend making reservation for Green Zebra, given it was very busy even on Tuesdays. On every tuesday they have special menu with different cuisine every week.We ordered 6 dishes for 2 people ,and we loved 5 of them. The desert menu is great too..will definitely go there again..5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible!Unique, flavorful, and absolutely delicious vegetarian cuisine! Even omnivores will love it!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMImaginative and delectable food!I chose this restaurant to treat a dear friend to a birthday dinner. She's vegan, so I wanted her to have a truly indulgent dinner. A friend recommended Green Zebra to me and it was the best recommendation. Every single plate was melt-in-our-mouths incredible. They were so inventive and their presentation is gorgeous. The server was very kind and she even brought a birthday cupcake for my friend. So thoughtful! I will gladly go back to the Green Zebra!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful as alwaysI went on a date for the Tuesday tasting series (Miami). Everything was delicious and timing of food was well spaced. I love taking a culinary journey with Green Zebra. Will be back soon!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMTop Vegetarian RestaurantThis is an upscale and great vegetarian restaurant. It has ambience, well prepared and excellent food as well as outstanding presentation. the service is attentive but a bit casual. Reservations are recommended as the dining area is small.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful As AlwaysThis is my favorite restaurant and I am not a vegetarian. The food is so good it does not need any meat in it. Green Zebra is always excellent.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I recently wentMy wife and I recently went to Green Zebra for dinner. We were both really impressed with our waiters knowledge of the food and the wine/bar options. We didn't drink ourselves but we heard our waiter field several very specific questions from another table.
The food was excellent. We only gave it a four because not all of the items on the menu were gems. My wife, who has a better mind for taste enjoyed 3 elegant choices from the menu, each with a new bursting flavor, richness, and crispness (Roasted Golden Beet Salad, Zingerman’s Burrata, and a side I can't remember the name of). I, on the other hand, went with things that sounded good and was met with an above average meal; except for the Chilled Somen Noodles which were my most favorit4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMSo happy to have a vegan/vegetarianSo happy to have a vegan/vegetarian option for fine dining!!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant in Chi-townWe love our veg snooty food and this filled the bill!
Great for foodies; will stop here again when in Chicago4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMonthly regional dinner a hitWe tried their monthly regional selection of southwestern fare. All of the courses were excellent, except that the tamales were a bit dense on corn meal. The paired wines were all excellent and well chosen.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe and our guests had an excellentWe and our guests had an excellent meal, and a very fun and enjoyable time. The food was nothing short of amazing.,.ultra cutting-edge and so many extraordinary flavors and textures. Innovative, bold and exciting. It's amazing so much can be done with non-meat foods, and that an all-vegetarian meal can be so satisfying. None of us felt deprived. Green Zebra brings together the best of gourmet cooking as both a science and an art. I would recommend Green Zebra to any who enjoys fine dining--the vegetarians and the meat-eaters without hesitation. Stellar service, too, and impressive wine list.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorite ChicagoOne of our favorite Chicago spots for dinner. Wonderful courses including desert!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time at a vegetarianFirst time at a vegetarian restaurant so I didn't know what to expect. The food was excellent. I've already reccomended this place to friends.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food at Green Zebra isThe food at Green Zebra is to die for. The food is all vegetarian, but so rich that even meat-lovers won't notice anything missing. Service is excellent.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful for vegetarians.Wonderful for vegetarians. It is very pricey, but well worth it.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and great times! The food here is truly spectacular! This was my second time at the zebra and I could not have been happier! Keep it up!!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food here is some of theThe food here is some of the best I've had (and I live in New York). Very original, inventive, natural, delicious. Less crazy about the decor, which is somewhat odd for a restaurant of this caliber; and the service was nice but unremarkable. Menu, however, is tough to beat, particularly for vegetarians. My wife eats very little meat and found a ton of options nonetheless.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMeverything is rightOur need for fresh springtime food was more than met at Spring. Service was graceful, including williness to mix a different drink (Silver Slipper) after I was disappointed with the Ten Commandments. Every plate was beautifully prepared and presented. The chocolate mousse was worth the visit in itself.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a wonderful restaurant,This is a wonderful restaurant, table setup is very nice for groups and couples both-but it is noisy for groups to hear each other. Was a vibrant place, excellent service, alot of parking nearby. Food is subtle and excellent.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great, especiallyThe food was great, especially the tasting menu. However, the restaurant was extremely noisy, more like a bar and the table space was inadequate for anyone over 5'8" tall. Our server was fabulous, very attentive and nice.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMVegetarian or not---you gotta go!Incredible. You forget that you are not eating meat; not because they make the food either look or taste like meat, but rather because the flavors, presentation and textures are incredible. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. What a treat. Each course was unique from the previous one. The wine pairings were perfect. Vegetarian or not (and I am not)--gotta go!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMCurrently one of the bestCurrently one of the best restaurants in Chicago. Craving meat? No worries. You won't even notice its exclusion. Every dish is so fresh and infused with surprising flavors and textures that you'll forget that you're eating vegetarian. Staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. Huge props to the designer(s) of the space: comfortable, contemporary, romantic.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVeggie delight!Loved loved loved the food!!! So heathy yet so delicious. I tried the Chet's tasting menu and my taste buds partied in my mouth!!! A five course meal comprising of bruschetta, okra soup, risotto, cheese n egg followed by banana pudding with a dollap of red velvet ice cream! Simply wow!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBoston visitorsThe Green Zebra is so wonderful that my co-worker and I abandoned a trip to the museum to dine there a second night in a row. The food is astounding and the staff are wonderful. I wish I had more than two thumbs to put up!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMake your vegetarians happyThere were six in our party, including three vegetarians, all,of whom were delighted by the long list of tasty vegetarian dishes. I chose the 5 course chefs menu, which turned out to be about one course too many. But other than the risotto, which wasn't great, everything was delicious. The mushroom pâté and eggplant bruschetta were fantastic. The restaurant was kind of quiet, even though it was a Thursday night, so I would suggest coming for the food, not for the scene.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe thoroughly enjoyed everyWe thoroughly enjoyed every dish(we tried many)and had excellent service and felt very welcomed even though we had our 28 month old son with us, we will definately enjoy another visit to the green Zebra when we return to Chicago.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently amazing menu!fantastic special meals on Teusdays - the "salsify chowder was out of this world! Great for a special occasion.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMJust really good, creativeJust really good, creative cooking, and friendly, too.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this restaurant. MyI love this restaurant. My Mom was visiting from California and I wanted to show her fine California dining at its finest. The food is incredible; the people here think and tinker and show how smart one can be with taste. Non-vegetarians won't feel like they are missing out. The flavors are just too good, subtle, complex and original. It is very elegant, comfortable and unpretentious. The drinks are as good as the food; make sure to come here with an open mind, flexibility on prices (reasonable for this level of experience), and you will have an excellent time.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was fantastic!!Everything was fantastic!! We went with the chef's choice menu and it exceeded every one of our expectations.
We were celebrating our 7 year wedding anniversary and the chef and staff made sure to make it special. We were greeted with a champagne toast and they surprised us with chocolate cupcake at the end of our meal - very thougtful! Thank you - We can't wait to come back!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMVery inventiveVery well thought out menu, attention to detail. Inventive use of top grade ingredients.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMTraffic delayed us for ourTraffic delayed us for our dinner reservation. We called the restaurant and they held our table! The staff were professional, attentive, thoughtful and kind. The food was delicious and we were out by the time we had asked as we had tickets to a show. I would definitely go back and try their tasting menu. Perfect for vegetarians, vegans and lovers of interesting food preparation.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA great spot for vegetariansA great spot for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. My third time -every time we visit from Toronto we come here.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMDid not think that vegetarianDid not think that vegetarian could taste so amazing.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMhere for chefs week and thoughthere for chefs week and thought the menu was tasty, playful and inventive. Interesting drink pairings3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been to Green ZebraWe have been to Green Zebra many times and love the restaurant. The food is always excellent and creative. We are fans of their specially themed menus, usually offered once a week. The only disappointment is that the alcoholic drinks & wines are getting quite expensive and the wine pours seem a bit on the stingy side. The last couple of visits it was off-putting to receive an expensive glass of wine that was no where near generous.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was "To Die For!!!".The food was "To Die For!!!". It is so unique and it is gastronomy at its finest. I had never even heard of some of the ingredients, but each dish was heaven. Great job!!!!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time at Green ZebraFirst time at Green Zebra and we both loved it! Everything we had was delicious. I particularly loved the mushroom pate. My friend is neither vegetarian or vegan, but loved it as well. I'm only sorry it took me so long to try it! I'll definitely be back.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFoodie haven for vegetariansFor vegetarians, Green Zebra is a foodie haven: interesting ingredients, expertly prepared and imaginatively combined. The service was also excellent. We went twice during our four-day visit to Chicago. We enjoyed the specialty drinks, including non-alcoholic. My husband was disappointed with the risotto - it doesn't stand up to everything else on the menu. And, our other regret was discovering, after we had eaten it, that the chocolate dessert for two was "non-vegetarian." Surely there is a solution to this - either modifying the ingredients or making sure patrons are aware. We would not have ordered it. Apart from those two things, it is a wonderful restaurant that we plan to return to and recommend highly to friends.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
