  • "We found Green St Tavern on Open Table and we were so happy we did. I cannot think of one missed step, from the excellent service to the outstanding food. In particular their special gnocchi was on par with the best dishes we've had traveling in Umbria and Tuscany. The salads were superb and sadly we didn't have room for dessert. Our only regret is that we don't live in California so we'll have to wait for our next trip!"

  • "Reservation was pretty late and most of the dinners wrapping up their dining on the Wednesday night. However when we got in the staff greeted us with warmth and pleasant smileys. Food was amazing (pork chops and daily special steak cut) were delicious. The food was paired with great wines."

  • "Went to Green Street Tavern for Father's Day dinner. The food was very good, particularly the lamb and the boar. Very limited beer/ale selection for a "tavern" although the wine list is extensive. The service was also good, but not exceptional. The ambiance was not the best; we were seated in the front section near the front door. Request the back room if you do go - much better there. Best for couples; don't bring the kids."

  • "Good food and pleasant atmosphere. A bit of a secret but hopefully word will get out. The Lamb Tagine is nicely spiced and presented. Close you eyes, take a bite and imagine yourself as a pied noir visiting the Magrheb. Get a table by the window for a nice view of Green Street while you enjoy you meal. "

  • "Noise level was high. Maybe the room in the front is better, but less atmosphere. Filet was only 1/2 inch thick. Should have sent it back, but the noise level was starting to get to us. "

  • "This is much more than a tavern. The food was very good as as well as the service and atmosphere. I ordered the wild boar meatloaf. My husband and I shared the arugula salad and octopus. We will definitely keep this restaurant on our list. It is located close to Old Town Pasadena where we went for coffee afterwards."

  • "Went here for a family birthday brunch. The restaurant is very beautiful, and service is fine, but the food was disappointing. The eggs benedict I ordered tasted horrible, and also had part of the egg shell still attached to the food. I pointed this out to the waitress, who replaced it with another egg (without a shell). The general consensus was that the food was tasteless or poorly-prepared. We won't be back. "

  • "The Mother's Day menu was limited and over priced. Online they did not specify they would only be serving their limited pre fix menu. A gratuity in excess of 20% ( because it was apparently calculated after tax) was automatically added to our bill. I won't be going here again on Mother's Day."

  • "Very good food and great service. Our waitress was coming by often to see if we need anything. The food portions are not large but the food is delicious. The place is cute, great location in Old Town Pasadena but parking might be a challenge in weekend nights. A little bit noisy not great for a quiet meal. Over roll a great experience, we went there many times and we had the same good experience."

  • "I happened on the Green Street Tavern while driving down Green Street and made it a point to stop in. The staff is very nice, attentive and they make you feel quite comfortable. I enjoyed the dining although my crisp green beans were a little too crisp and some tasted uncooked. Mind you, I like them crisp. The risotto was absolutely wonderful and it was topped with very pleasant and very very tender Short Ribs. I could have taken a double dose of the risotto."

  • "The tables are very close together. If people are talking above a whisper you can hear their whole conversation.....which makes talking to each other is impossible. The restaurant is very claustrophobic. We would not go back there again."

  • "We had great food but we had to wait over 1hr between our ap and our main meal. The salmon and mushroom special with polenta (toast like sticks of polenta) was amazing and the mushrooms were some of the best I have ever had. My wifes steak was amazing and she remarked it was also one of best meals she has ever had. Our extremely long wait was noted though and did color our evening slightly. "

  • "I was meeting a friend of mine for dinner, but he was running really late. I have been to their other restaurant in downtown LA called Indsutriel (a great place I must say). The restaurant closes at nine o'clock, but my server had the kitchen stay a bit longer, so my friend had an opportunity to order his entree. Who does that these days? The food was most flavourable. I had the boar meatloaf with the boar bacon. My friend had their steak, which was cooked to perfection. For dessert we had their chocolate cake; it was quite sinful. I will definitely be back for the great food and service."

  • "We walk by this place on a regular basis, so when friends came in from out of town we made reservations to try the menu. It always seemed quiet, so we thought it would be a good place to talk. Well the food was excellent, the wine list nicely curated, but the sound made conversation almost impossible. It was a busy Saturday night - with a large crowd. So we will definitely be back - on a night with fewer people when we want to talk to friends."

  • "I made a reservation at Green Street Tavern about two weeks before Valentine's Day on OpenTable. When we arrived and were seated we noticed that the place was half empty, and we soon found out why ... they were only offering a fixed menu and it was $69/person. There was only one option on the menu that our group was interested in and therefore we left. I feel we should have been informed about the fixed menu when I made the reservation (I looked at Green Street Tavern's menu on-line before booking but the Valentine's menu was not listed). We have paid $69 a person for dinner before but we knew what we were getting."

  • "We had lunch one week , during Dine LA, and dinner the next. The food was spotty. Some dishes were delicious; others forgettable. EVERYTHING was attractively presented but UNDERseasoned. The salmon was also raw in the center. I like tender rare salmon but this is not safe to serve. The dinner crowd was heavy and the servers weren't keeping up. It will be awhile before I try it again"

  • "I picked this place for dinner with the parents because the croissant bread pudding looked enticing, and my mom LOVES bread pudding. She loved it! Everything else we ate was great as well. The servers were very attentive. It's a small restaurant, but supposedly there was a larger room in the back (not sure if it was for private dinners or what). Overall, perfect for a nice Friday night dinner with the parents."

  • "Ambiance was mixed. The decor was amazing if it was a romantic restaurant and I loved it very much. However it was very loud; the flooring and the curvature of the ceiling bounced the echoes of the big dining parties which was very according since it's a tavern. The romance of the decor and the extreme loudness (sounded like an outdoor bazaar) created that mixed/confused ambiance for me. Food was mediocre - bisque was salty, meatloaf was not appetizing (what did I expect?). ** Service was excellent. Even with such high traffic, the waiters were impeccable, friendly, and subtly kept a close watch on all the diners. As soon as we or our neighbors were done with our courses or halfway through our water, they would swoop in and refill."
