Green Street RestaurantIt could have been better because..What was supposed to be a special goodbye brunch for my friend had a damper put on it by our waiter. We arrived at 11:00 a.m., so as to be seated and served before the lunch crowd; therefore, his behavior, or lack of it, cannot be attributed to a rush of customers. He never greeted us, never smiled, and served us in a most perfunctory manner. We had to ask for water, a refill of coffee, and tin foil in which to take home the leftover zucchini bread. This is the first time this has happened, but, if it were to happen again, I would be inclined not to give it another visit. Really like their Diane salad along with the zuccini bread. I had pasta this time. Huge portion. The leftovers were so plentiful that we made them for dinner. Friendly service. I was impressed with their shareable appetizers. We ordered the deviled egg spread with toast and the hot nuts. So delicious!! Plenty for 2 or 3. My mom ordered the shrimp cocktail as her main dish since the appetizers were so filling. Only four shrimp, but they were HUGE and grilled. Perfect amount. I ordered the penne pasta with asparagus and spinach. Ordered the Dr. Bob's carmel rubble ice cream for dessert. Soooo good! The restaurant is an hour from my house, but I'd go back just for the ice cream!! Very reasonably priced. While a bit pricey for breakfast--most meals were about $10 or so--the food was very well-prepared and the service very good. We also enjoyed sitting outside, which was quite relaxing. The hostess desk looked over staffed; cluttered with personnel.
People waiting for a table seem to always block the entry way.
