Diner Reviews
  • "I've been coming to Green Street for so many years that it's menu qualifies as Comfort Food that has evolved along with many of its patrons."

  • "Don't be late. We were 10 minutes late and were greeted rudely. We were then kept waiting as parties that arrived after us and had reservations later than us were seated before us. This, after I explained we had theater tickets. We ordered a nice bottle of (red) wine. The waitress did not let us taste it. She simply uncorked the bottle and filled the glasses. She then recortked the bottle. Bread was not initailly brought to our table. When I asked the waitress, she replied that she will bring the bread with the meal. When asked if we could get the bread before the meal, she did comply."

  • "We went to Green Street to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our grown kids and granddaughter were along with us. Our daughter recommended Green Street (and had been recommending for a while--this was the first opportunity) and it was perfect for all of us, including the 3 year old. Staff were attentive and helpful and the food was amazing. Prices are what you would expect for a restaurant of this quality and location. My husband said the martini was the best he's ever had. This is not where we would go for a simple dinner out, but certainly a place for a special occasion."

  • "The service was great and the food was wonderful. We were very pleased with the zucchini bread that matched the online hype. The corn cakes were just a wonderful. The quinoa, sweet potato and salmon hash was very delicious. Inside was rather noisy and hectic I s the only area where improvements could be made. Overall, a very wonderful meal."

  • "It has been awhile since Breakfast and I was craving the Quinoa sweet potato salmon Hash. I wish this was a dinner item as well?"

  • "Spacing was not too great. One of our guests was sat too close to the bar so people were walking by and bumping into him. The food here is always great. Been here for very many years. Service wasn't a great as the food but it was good still. I think or waiter might have been new, plus, it was a busy Saturday night. Overall all very good."

  • "Met long-time friends for lunch who I hadn't seen for many, many months. Food, service, and ambiance made for a very pleasant experience."

  • "I had a special accommodation put on my own table reservation online but the accommodation was not commented on and I was not contacted saying they wouldn't be able to make the accommodations. Great service otherwise!"

  • "Love coming here for an late morning staff meeting for breakfast."

  • "Had Saturday breakfast with a friend. It was pretty quiet on arrival but got busier. Service was very good this time, and the food was absolutely fine. On my only other visit to Green Street Restaurant I wasn't very impressed with the food or service, though the location is handy and well-presented; but anyway, this time we had a much better experience. I would definitely go again. Their pumpkin bread is good, too -- but everything else was fine. Definitely happy with this experience."

  • "When I want to meet a friend for lunch or dinner, Green Street is always on the top of the list! Great menu, great service, )located in the heart of Lake Street and close to shopping!"

  • "We have found that Green Street Restaurant has excellent food and a good wine list. Our lunches and dinners there have always been excellent, and they are exceptional for brunch. (Reservations are a good idea.) The menu offers a broad range of items, and they occasionally toss in a great new item -- like the scrumptious "Goat Cheese Smashed Potatoes." People usually praise the Dianne salad and zucchini bread, which are both good, but don't miss out on other delicious items. For brunch, we highly recommend their Crab Cake (& Eggs) Benedict and especially the fantastic Quesadilla Con Huevos. For lunch and dinner, check out the California Dates appetizer, the Cornucopia salad, and the Herbed Chicken Breast. Hard to go wrong here."

  • "We have lived in the Foothills Region for over a year and finally made it to the Green Street Restaurant. Everything (food, service, ambiance) was fantastic -- We will be back!!!"

  • "Good restaurant. Friendly enough staff, though maybe spread a bit thin. Everything was fine. The carrot cake is outstanding. I do wish they didn't have the infernal music coming out of the speakers. It's distracting and makes conversation difficult. It's not as loud as at some other restaurants, but totally unnecessary and highly annoying."

  • "Food, as always, delicious. Service above and beyond. Staff very accommodating. Had a wonderful time with my family!"

  • "Green Street is a great place to go for dinner prior to the Pasadena Playhouse. There is public parking next door and it is a short (5-7 minute) walk to the theater. What impressed me was that I had a reservation for 5, but at the last minute, one had to cancel and the other three were (separately) stuck in Friday night traffic and were 30, 45 and 65 minutes late. The server was great in keeping waters filled and taking 4 separate orders as folks arrived and making recommendations on what could be brought out quickly. This is a Pasadena mainstay for decades. Great for families and groups, but not a quiet dinner. Being so popular, they pack in pretty close,"

  • "I really enjoyed this spot. The food was great, the service was awesome and the busy establishment said that people knew this was a place to go for a good experience. It was gorgeous and parking was easy."

  • "Enjoyed lunch vibist to Green St. Hadn't been there in quite some time, so decided to stick with what I knew I liked - the Salad Diane- and was not disappointed! Restaurant was very busy, and service a little slow, but the salad was refreshing. Although iceberg lettuce is a not a green of choice for me, the chicken breast, almonds, and delicious dressing all came together very nicely! Salads are very large and took salad home to enjoy - large portion for dinner meal that day."

  • "I love this restaurant. Breakfast is fabulous, their salads cannot be beat and you can always find something great or yummy any time of day."

  • "The foodwas great but I have to say the services was fabulous. It was my first time there but our waiter Scott was very attentive."

  • "My husband and I decided to spend our Valentine's Day lunch here because it's one of our favorite spots. The restaurant was crowded but since we had reservations, our table we ready and waiting for us. No fuss, no wait. Seated as soon as we walked in. The food and service was great as usual. As a request from our daughter, we picked a loaf of zucchini bread on our way out for her."

  • "We've eaten at Greenstreet many time and it is always good, but whenever I order something besides the salad I find myself having entree envy for the salad special. But all of our meals were really good and the service was great"

  • "As it has been before, food was excellent, and couteous and attentive staff. Food is especially good for the price which is very reasonable, compared to other restaurants of equal cuisine stature. Was surprised that restaurant wasn't more crowded, and that we couldn't get a reservation for later, as there were still open tables much later as our meal progressed."

    Dined on 2/9/2014
  • "Needed a place for Sunday brunch and this fit the bill. Food and service were both very good. Street parking is nil so you have to use the ramp next door (unvalidated) at $1.00 per 30 minutes."

  • "This was a great place to take our college student for a Sunday brunch. We received both the breakfast and lunch menus at our 12 noon seating and had plenty of dishes to choose from. Service was fast and friendly and we could linger at the table deep in conversation after finishing our meals. Highly recommended."

  • "Great food & service as usual. Love their classic Steak & Diane. Three of us had it and we're not disappointed. Steaks all grilled to perfection, rare. The Diane salad was delicious as always. The Duck sliders were great. As was the chicken & mango quesadilla."

  • "Everything was good; the service, the food. Only thing is they don't validate parking."

  • "I just loved the newest version of their Diane Salad. It has kale instead of iceberg lettuce. What an improvement. Now it is as nutritious as it is delicious."

  • "We hadn't eaten in years and are now unlikely to eat there again. The food was bland and unappealing, the coffee was cold and only once refilled, the space was cramped, and the service was spotty. This venerable old Pasadena restaurant just was disappointing."
