  • "Wait staff was very friendly and helpful in explaining menu items listed in traditional Greek. The dip sampler for lunch only offers choice of one dip, however we were able to order the dinner app during the lunch hour, which allowed us to sample all 4 options- quite tasty, nice and garlicky! We each got the House salad that surprisingly did not not have any lettuce- cucumbers, tomatoes, some green peppers, feta, oil and vinegar, to which we each added lamb souvlaki (which was a little more cooked than we hoped, but still tender). The dessert tray is extremely tempting and we opted for the custard-filled phyllo pastry that was sitting in a sweet, cinnamony syrup. I'd go back."

We always end up saying to each other...that was delicious but too expensive for what you get. They are rarely busy and believe it is mostly about the price, not the experience."

Between the two trips, I had dinner here three times....and not one meal disappointed! The prices are very reasonable, and the quality is exceptional. The staff is well trained and very attentive....would highly suggest that you give this place a try if you like authentic greek food."

  • "Saganaki was good grilled calamari was very good. Entrees were veggie mousaka, seafood kabob, and lamb lion. My wife liked the mousaka and I loved the lamb loin. The Seafood kabob was delicious but there was only one which for the price there should be more. ( 3 shrimp and 3 scallops $26) The service was terrific and they had a nice variety of wine avail both by glass or bottle. Overall I would definitely recommend The Greek Flame."

  • "The food tasted like I was sitting in a Greek Mamma's kitchen. As an appetizer we had an assortment of 3 different homemade looking and tasting pies. The three were spinach, cheese, and ground beef. Our entres were a special of seafood stuffed grouper and pastitsio which were both delicious. Both came with a salad which was ample and had a homemade dressing on the side. We prefer a more traditional baklava so we skipped that and had a delicious Napoleon. The tea they serve is a cardamom tea. It was a Mediterranean flavor and a nice touch. "

  • "Was optimistic with the OpenTable reviews, but while the flaming cheese was delicious and the calamari fair, my scallops and shrimp with eggplant and spinach were floating in a relatively non-descript white "soup" that was marginal and soggy. The restaurant is in a strip mall about 8 minutes from the Hyatt Regency and Convention Center, but has a very nice neat and pleasant ambience. Our server was attentive and lovely."

  • "A Constant problem we have encountered with this restaurant is the lack of help. We observed people seated and walking out because they do not get serviced on more that one occasion. It is a shame because this makes word of mouth advertising negative. Also, on many of our visits they seem to run out of lamb .Saturday night it was Slovakia, (by 8pm.) Makes it hard to recommend a good dish to friends.. We want this restaurant to succeed as there food is wonderful. Hire some help and buy more lamb.."

  • "We have eaten in Greek restaurants in Greek town in Chicago, this restaurant is every bit as good as the ones in Chicago. The rest is clean and has a great aroma of delicious food. We all ordered something different and all the meals came out perfectly cooked and prepared. The lamb and the Chicken was some of the best we have ever had. We can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes. The staff is friendly and attentive and you feel like family while you are there."

  • "Greek Flame Taverna provides outstanding food with excellent service for very good prices. For starters don't miss out on the authentic feta cheese. Once you have their grilled calamari you will never want the breaded, deep-fried version ever again. Be sure to try the saganaki which is flambé'd table side with a healthy dose of "opa!" You can't miss on any of the fish, chicken or lamb dishes. Don't forget to try any of the delicious home-made desserts."

Not a quiet, romantic place; rather a place where you can converse with a very lively feel. Service was excellent and food was very good. Reasonably priced bottles of wine, as well. By the time my main course arrived I had lost my appetite (everyone else in our party had already finished). Our waitress ran out of the restaurant crying before my main was served - apparently some problem with the kitchen.   • "We went there on a family dinner on Dec-27th after a long international trip. As appetizers, we ordered grilled octopus and calamaris. The calamaris was delicious. For the main course we ordered lamb shank and fish. The fish was good. The lamb was only OK. I've eaten better lamb before. The atmosphere is pretty good. The waiter was very polite and efficient. The dessert was the best part of our dinner."
