Private Party Facilities: Great Northern offers two separate rooms to meet your private function needs. Banquet rooms can be reserved for seated dinners, cocktail parties, wedding receptions, rehearsals, birthdays, business meetings or any special occasion. The larger of the two rooms, The Caboose, is located off the main dining room. Known for it's vaulted exposed beam ceiling and vintage photographs this option is the most private. Capacity is 45 for a seated dinner and slightly more for cocktail parties. The second option, The Sidecar, is located just off the cocktail area of the bar and features heavy theater style curtains for privacy. Decorated with original railroad artwork on one side and French doors on the other opening to an outdoor patio. Capacity is 24 for a seated dinner and 30 for cocktail parties. "Great Norther appears to be trying very hard but is just very far off. There were parts of the meal that were very good, but so much that was not. The hostess was unattentive, the service was overzealous/intrusive and the food was not great.
The potstickers were bland, there were no house cocktails and given a spirit to go from the bartender made a pretty bad drink (maybe I should have gotten it neat!), the chicken pot pie was nearly one solid lump, the rotisserie chicken was dry, the creamed corn just wasn't, the ribs were average (but the rib sauce quite good), the asparagus very good (simple, grilled), the sweet potato fries fantastic, the peach cobbler also a solid lump, the sorbet and ice cream ok and the decaf espresso very good."

"This restaurant has always impressed me. I've been there several times, for business as well as family or romantic occasions. The service has always been on point. The regular menu always meets every expectation of look, feel, taste, and aesthetics. Their featured or special plates have never left me or my guests wanting. I will return for many years."

"You have to try the goat cheese stuffed meatloaf. It's absolutely delicious. The food is extremely well cooked and you get what you pay for. The staff is extemely nice and courteous."

"We were seated quickly and restaurant was warm and inviting. Server was a little odd, but fairly efficient. Our son's macaroni and cheese appeared to be instant and was not appealing. Our stuffed mushrooms and entree salads though were all quite good. Some sort of bread offering would have been nice. Server was a bit slow in settling the check, but overall it was a good experience. We'll just be careful what to order for our son in the future. Probably a nice place to visit for weekday happy hour."

"Decent happy hour deals. Bar crowd was older, after-work bunch. Food was mostly typical pub food with a couple interesting additions. Atmosphere was like a hotel restaurant. It just seemed stuffy for a tavern. Nothing impressive. Meh."
